Lucky Panda is one of the many restaurants in strip malls in this part of town. Has a lot of the common items. There's beef and chicken of course, as well as tofu for healthy options. A lot of customers seem to get carryout. It's got a pretty big dining room if you want to eat inside. There's also a gaming section with a few slots. As for the food it's basic. It's about $14 for an entree. Portions are kind of big though. Has some that are spicy. We got the Kung Pao Tofu. Came with quite a few pieces of tofu in it. Too bad these were kind of burnt and tough. Had a good variety of vegetables including carrots and peas. The meal was pretty okay but they didn't understand we were eating in and they made it to go, so we ate it out of the bag at a table. For sure there's many Chinese restaurants that are much better. I've generally had good experiences here which is why this last order stood out. I ordered the broccoli dinner special something I've had many times before and noticed the takeout container was smaller than usual. The portion was clearly reduced but the price stayed the same. This place has always been consistent for me so the change was frustrating. I understand costs go up but smaller portions without any notice isn't great. Their strength is that it is a neighborhood restaurant and most folks are loyal. Since Covid they have added gambling to their dining room. We went at lunch and ordered at the counter before sitting in a booth. The place was empty,but it was a Tuesday after MLK Day. So all and all we had high hopes. Ive ordered food plenty of times before.Today I ordered and after taking a mouthful of my chili beef, I felt something hard and spit out my food only to find a piece of a pot scrubber that I was chewing on. I immediately called the restaurant only to be told that yeah it was probably a pot scrubber but the man said it so casually. He seemed like it often happens and was not surprised or concerned .The guy didn't even apologize and tried everything to not replace my order by telling me it would be a few hours until it can be replaced. Alright, so I've heard great things about Lucky Panda through the grapevine and since there isn't any good Chinese food near Yorkville, I decided to give it a try. I ordered online for pickup, and then drove 20 minutes each way for a sesame chicken lunch special, crab Rangoon, potstickers, egg rolls, and egg drop soup. First, the restaurant is very clean and bigger than I expected. Great atmosphere, and the person at the register was very friendly and welcoming. All the good points for a great pickup experience were there. Well, I get the hype. I snuck a crab Rangoon on the drive home and it's easily one of the best I've ever had. There's big chunks of crab, perfectly fried, creamy... just fantastic. I also got into the egg roll, because why not? The egg roll was pretty mid; I wouldn't go out of my way for them, but it was worth finishing. Then I got home and dug into the rest. I don't love restaurant fried rice, and the same is true here. I wish I'd had the option for regular steamed rice - but for what it is, it's pretty good. The sesame chicken absolutely makes up for it, though. Real, recognizable chicken pieces and the sauce is thick and not overly cloying sweet. I did get a bite of bone, but honestly it doesn't bother me because I'm still enjoying the meal. The portion is insane, by the way - I am easily going to get two very filling meals from this lunch special. I was surprised at how heavy the styrofoam container was, and now that I've eaten my fill, it looks like I've barely made a dent. Now the pot stickers... these are the plumpest I've ever had. They're thick, meaty, and well fried. Definitely good if you're a pot sticker fan, but honestly they're hefty enough to be a meal on their own. The egg drop soup is fantastic, too. I really love egg drop soup. Even though it's quick, cheap, and easy to make at home, I have a hard time passing it up when I get Chinese food. This one has a nice little sprinkling of green onion on top, a good texture (it's not gelatinous or, like, overly thick), and the egg ribbons are a good size and amount. The only things I could complain about are that bone shard and that they forgot my 2 extra egg rolls from the 'spend x, get y' coupon. But I'm enjoying the food enough that I'm not mad about it. Really enjoyed our experience at Lucky Panda last night. A later dinner than usual for the BF and I at around 8:30, but people were flowing in and out to eat in or take food to go. Service was really good, attentive, food came out quickly. If anyone has noise level concerns, its average except on occasion when a smoothie is being made and may be a little loud for someone who is sensitive. Other 'yelpers' mentioned it's hard to find good Chinese food in Aurora and we've been looking for a good place. We'll definitely be back! Stay tuned for follow-up reviews. read more

We get take-out from this restaurant whenever we get Chinese food. It is one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area. They have dinner and lunch specials which are pretty good deals with all the food you get. I really like the lo mein. It has great flavor and a decent size for the dinner special. The egg rolls are great too. They have the perfect crunch and they are packed with filling. We also got an order of the duck which was cooked very well and had a great texture. I'm not everything that was in the sauce, but it tasted fresh. We had a coupon for free crab rangoon which were also delicious. I feel it is hard to make bad crab rangoon. It was super tasty. I gave this place a 5 star review a few years back. Today was disheartening because they still have the best Chinese food in the area. We went in for a party of two and told them we were dining in. We picked a table and after a few minutes we were told to walk to the register for menus and then go to sit down. Then, we were told to come to the register to make our orders. We ordered two drinks which were brought to the table. When the food came it was given in a stapled and tied plastic bag along with the check, we didn't finish the drinks and went to the register to pay. We were told that we could open the food and put in on the plates ourselves if we wanted to stay. This was our first off day in a while and just wanted to sit down and eat. It's more like a 4.5 star. I've been here once for carryout, and tonight I came in for some scrumptious beef chop suey on National Chop Suey Day. They must have broken English, as my server didn't understand what I meant when I said "Happy National Chop Suey Day. Their dinner specials are a great value, at $8.95. Egg drop soup, egg roll, chicken fried rice and your entree of choice. I took half of my rice and entree home, big serving. If you get in before 3pm, it's $6.95, suspect it's a little smaller serving. Not sure why they don't throw any ice in the pitcher of water when they give you a refill. I'm a cold water kinda guy, room temperature doesn't do it for me. Egg roll was slightly over fried. It took forever to cool off enough to eat. I love that they have squeeze bottles of hot mustard and sweet n sour sauce. I don't use sweet n sour sauce though. My beef chop suey had wonderful crisp veggies and tender and tasty beef. The chicken in the fried rice was off, too dried out. I was shocked I was the only one in the dining room at 5:30pm, but they were doing a brisk carryout business. I am gluten free and never have an issue with this place We go here at least a 2 times a month and always get some variation of the same dishes: BBQ pork fried rice Egg drop soup (has corn in it and if you're dining in it has the crunchy noodles on top) Mongolian chicken Chicken pad Thai Garlic beef Sesame or sweet and sour chicken with chicken that's not breaded The order is always right and it's ready super fast. read more

If im going to sit down someplace, it is not to have my food in to-go containers nor eat off of paper/plastic plates and plastic utensils. I came to this place for my first time, I ordered inside, the food didn't take long to be ready. Food was pretty good and fresh.

Food fluctuates in quality. Sometime it's great, other times I end up with food poisoning. Service is always prompt.
