Better than expected Chinese place in Aurora and cheap. Hong Kong is also generous with its portions. It has most of the basic stuff you can think of, and they do these well. According to them it seems they only do carryout so delivery isn't available here. They have some healthier choices including tofu. Came here after putting in an order as carryout. It looks like a typical strip mall Chinese restaurant. They also have lots of teas. A whole lot of flavors. The food is the main reason people go here though. I got us something for dinner and it wasn't too bad. The Kung Pao Tofu was the best sounding vegetarian choice so we got that. It's $10.15 for the only size, the large. The tofu wasn't as firm as we would have liked, but it wasn't too soft either so it was mostly okay. Good tasting sauce that made us happy we got it extra spicy, and there were lots of hot peppers in it. The vegetables could have cooked longer. For this cheap place it was actually good. It wasn't anything at all special but it was edible and that's better than some of these other places. The one we got is the best for vegans and vegetarians. read more

They have a pretty big and typical menu and their food is decent for fast food Chinese. Kung Pao Chicken (small) $5.55 - I like how they provide the option between small and large for some of the dishes. This dish comes with chicken, onion, baby corn, bamboo shoots, green pepper and carrots topped with peanuts. The brown sauce is ok. Chicken Wings (5) $2.95 - These chicken wings are lightly battered and deep fried. They're a little dry, but decent. Sweet & Sour Delight $9.25 - This is a mix of battered and deep fried chicken and shrimp served with sweet & sour sauce. It's really no my thing. Shrimp W/peapod (small) $5.95 - This is literally just 6 pieces of shrimps on top of a pile of peapods. The peapods were nice and crunchy. This was an impromptu trip today to this restaurant. I was in the mood for Singapore Noodles and egg rolls. I was in the nearby area and looked up restaurants with good reviews and I found Hong Kong Restaurant. To my pleasant surprise, they did not disappoint. The Singapore Noodles were delicious!! I ordered beef fried rice as well and it was so flavorful. The egg rolls were good, but I ate them when they got cold, which made them less crunchy. (My fault). Overall, I would go out of my way to pick up food here again. The service was awesome. The young lady behind the counter was very personable and friendly. Side note: I was having a bad day and her cheery and considerate disposition was very welcoming. Plus, they have a great selection of drinks - smoothies, teas and milk teas! I would have taken a picture, but the food was so good we ate it up so fast. Next time, we'll be sure to take a picture first - then we'll devour it! Ha! read more

The place was very calm when we had walked in, a very chill and homey ambience. Definitely before the Christmas rush hour, so we were in luck. They had some classic Christmas songs playing on the T.V. and the entire place was decorated with holiday cheer. We were looking for a restaruant to eat after going to the Paramount Arts Theater last evening. It was a really good choice. We ordered kung pao shrimp and an order of egg rolls. The shrimp was perfectly done and the vegetables were firm and delicious. The egg roll was great. Its a nice neighborhood place and the folks who run it are very friendly and accommodating. I feel like I went to a different place from the other reviewers! My boyfriend had dental surgery and I promised him soup but wanted delivery. Not many soup delivery options so I talked him into Chinese. He couldn't decide so we got egg drop, dumpling, and hot and sour. Don't judge, we wanted left overs! We also ordered 1.kung pao chicken spicy- very little chicken and very bland the small came in a round Tupperware style container. Reminded me of chop suey that comes in a can. I've had this dish probably 20x from 10 different places and I know there's variation from place to place but this was different and not in a good way. 2. veggie egg roll- very small and cooked very dark dry, just really dry 3. crab rangoon- this was great actually! folded beautifully, light golden brown, kind of sweet, and no large chunks of onion (which I appreciate). As for the soups they all tasted about the same. Kinda like chicken grease and cornstarch with the consistency of almost set jello. I made it wiggle around on my spoon and my dog ran away from it so that was kinda fun. I would say I'll try other dishes but I don't think I'll risk it. read more

Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here for Chinese food. Let me start by saying that I find it really strange that there is only two other reviews on this restaurant in the last year on this place. I very rarely review restaurants, but people need to be warned before wasting their time. I do not review restaurants, unless the place makes me sick, unfairly takes my money with serving awful food, or ruins a special event, or has no business being in business. The restaurant was dirty, food was gross, and service came with an attitude. If I could give them a zero, I would. I was out to meet an old friend. We have never been told in such a rude way that an establishment was closed. I was so embarrassed after the terrible dining experience we just had to then practically be kicked out of the restaurant. I was trying to make the best of the circumstance we found ourselves being stuck in eating with the Hong Kong, but seriously. We had already paid and we're saying goodbye getting ready to leave, less than 10 minutes after they closed at 8 p.m. on a Friday night. News flash Hong Kong owner/workers, if you run or work in a restaurant, you do not walk out at the closing time listed on the door. It may be new news to you, but no one else that has ever worked in food service, retail, or any other customer service establishment. If you do not want to serve patrons, then do carry out/delivery only. It is already apparent there is no desire to maintain/clean the restaurant and the same effort went into the cold, undercooked food I wasted my money on to throw away. I should've stuck with my first instinct and walked out as soon as I walked in the door. I am not sure how this place receive 4 stars. My 8-year-old that loves Chinese food would only eat the crab rangoon. I ate because I had not eaten lunch and was starving after searching for a Chinese restaurant that would serve inside. My mistake, I left hoping I would not get sick from the undercooked , cold, disgusting shrimp lo mein. I have had Chinese food I did not like, but at least I was not concerned about getting food poisoning. I ended up here after the attempt to go to two other Chinese dine in restaurants that do not serve dine in almost three years into COVID. I have to admit that I was disappointed to even have to come here, but spattered food all over walls next to the tables that looked like no one could be bothered to clean it up for months is unacceptable. When you walk in and the place is empty and the person up front is sitting there doing nothing, it goes to show that they do not care about presentation or cleanliness. I guarantee, it is worse in the back of the house. The health department needs to do the public and favor and pay a visit. I've enjoyed the few things I've tried from this restaurant. I've had their smoothies multiple times. They're delicious! I usually get them when I'm in a hurry and in the area. Not too hard to mess those up, I suppose. I've also had the fried rice which was pretty standard Chinese fried rice. I've had good fried rice and veggies or drawinglasI've I've had good fried rice and and bad fried rice, as I like to try Chinese food wherever I go. I would say theirs was pretty standard. It wasn't AMAZING but it definitely wasn't bad. The sesame chicken was good! Again, it's something I try everywhere I go. I'll get pictures next time! read more

I've ordered twice. Sesame Chicken: First time was fine though the sauce was a little basic. The second time, it breading was super mushy. The sauce was completely soaked in. The sauce was also very bland like they forgot a bunch of ingredients. Maybe they didnt fry it long enough or the oil wasnt hot enough, I'm not sure. Beef Chow Fun: First time was OK. The whole dish was a little too salty and they gave lots of beef. The Chow fun was alittle overcooked. Second time, the Chow fun was way way overcooked. Reminded me of if I tried to microwave leftovers. It was so overcooked, you physically could not pickup a piece of chow fun noodle without it breaking. You literally could only eat it with a spoon because it was such a mushy mess. Hong Sue Pork: This was terrible but I won't hold it against them. We thought it was something else. When I say that Hong Kong Chinese is four stars, it's four stars...for a takeout joint. I've only ordered from here once, but I was really happy with the service and food. The lady on the phone who took my order was a little tough to understand, but she repeated my order back to me quickly and accurately. The girl working at the front counter was really friendly, and we even had a funny interaction about the name on my order. Girl: "What's your name?" Me: "Angela." Girl: *looks for bag* "I don't see it...oh hold on..." *laughs* Girl: "Could it have been 'AngeR-la'?" She then apologizes and corrects my name. I had the chicken fried rice, crab rangoon, and egg rolls. The food was hot, and everything tasted good. I almost gave up on a decent Chinese takeout place in my neighborhood but am glad there's something good nearby. It's mostly takeout service, but there are several tables. The restaurant is decorated in dark purple and lavender tones with dim lighting. The lighting isn't meant for ambiance, it's just sort of dim and crappy lighting. After ordering food it was ready quickly (we were hungry!), The best Mongolian beef and fried rice we have had in years (but wish fried rice had some egg). Mongolian beef sauce was tasty, dish had scallions, not just white onions (they were not over cooked, but al dente which was great), meat was tender and cut in a good size. Egg rolls while cooked perfectly are too small in our opinion due to the fact we couldn't taste the filling much, probably due to the size and the tasty, crisp outer layer. But when a flyer showed up on our doorstep for a take-out place within 10 minutes of where we live, we thought we'd give it a try. We are now loyal Hong Kong Inn patrons! The "popular" place's food had gotten bland and all too predictable. Hong Kong Inn's food is fresh, fast, and delicious, and the menu is expansive. I found this place back my freshman year of college and I've loved it ever since. I've tried several different items and everything is so tasty but my favorite is the Mongolian beef and the Mango Milk Tea. The food is amazing but so is the staff. I wish I knew everyone's name because everyone is so kind and generous. The one main lady who is usually there always remembers me and my friend no matter how long its been since we've visited. The only negative thing I could say is that this place is so far away from home but me and my friend will always make the drive. Absolutely amazing! read more
