Chicken bánh mì
Suzie R.

Just tried this place for the first time. Very clean and nice inside. I placed a Togo order, it came out pretty quickly given how busy it was. The bánh mì hit the spot. Also tried the egg rolls and crab Rangoon. I enjoyed watching how this place ran while I was waiting. They work as a team, dirty plates are cleared, and no one is standing around. Someone even brought me a water while I waited which was a nice touch. Looking forward to trying more and dining in.

Food was tasting as it should be! Place is airy & not congested. Love the simple decor & appreciate the tidiness. Service is fast each time we visit. Slightly elevated prices but serving of pho is more than enough.

Spring roll

Just a quick review to say that this place has some great spring rolls for a great price. Was passing some time at the Antique Market tucked off Main St and was feeling a little hungry so I decided to check out what was open nearby and saw the sign for Pho Ly. I decided some spring rolls should be able to hold me over so I headed there. The interior of the restaurant is a good size with a nice amount of tables. It was clean and quiet with a small bar near the entrance and some festive holiday decoration too. The staff were friendly and attentive offering me a table at first and then being happy to let me place a to-go order at the counter. They told me the rolls should be ready in a few minutes so I said I would be right back and went to grab some things from Rocket Fizz. When I came back my order was ready and I was so hungry that I ended up just eating them in the car on the way to my next appointment. They tasted good with nice sized shrimp and the fillings inside were fresh. The next time I'm in St Charles I will strongly consider giving more of Pho Ly's menu a try.

An absolute gem in St. Charles. It was a cold night after our fun visit across the street at Ghoulish Mortals and I really wanted some delicious pho. We all got the shrimp pho and it hit the spot. Super tasty broth and the large was no kidding LARGE. One of the server was great and polite....the other.....not so much. But it won't stop me for coming back for some yummy pho next time we're in St. Charles.

My wife and I have been coming here for quite some time now and it has been amazing every time! The phở broth is always on point and I'm one of those that don't like to add hoisin and sriracha in the broth. I like to add them on a side dish to dip my meat in. I will add the basil, bean sprouts, lime juice and jalapeños in the soup, however. One of the ladies that work there (not sure if it's the wife or owner) is always so nice to us and welcomes us whenever we come in. The service is always great too. Not much to complain about. The place is always very quiet even though the restaurant is pretty spacious. It's also very clean and they are quick to buss tables as soon as customers are done. Will continue to come back!

Alas, St. Charles has got itself an AMAZING Vietnamese spot! Pho Ly had caught my eye as I was driving on main street and I had to stop by and give it a try. I brought my sister with, and we set out on our first foodie venture at this spot. My sister ordered the combination fried rice, and I had ordered the tofu vermicelli noodles along with a taro smoothie with Boba. Everything was freshly made, delicious, well, seasoned, and incredibly enjoyable. Staff was incredibly kind and attentive. As far as the space goes, it is an open space, well lit, and modern spot. Highly enjoyable and comfortable seating. We will definitely be returning to this spot to try out more things on the menu. Highly recommend to all folks looking for a solid Vietnamese spot in town!

Located downtown St Charles next door to shell and across from fill up station. There is parking on the side street. The pho is good and tasty. This is up there next to pho 95. Service was good and the restaurant was clean.

Order the pho. Fresh and delicious. Even to go. It stays hot. Generous portions too. A St Charles gem.

Their preorder system is incredibly smooth, though it does require a bit of planning since you need to order at least a day in advance, and they are closed on Mondays. I scheduled an order on a Friday for a Tuesday morning pickup. I picked up a dozen GF donuts and a half-dozen chocolate chip cookies, and both were fantastic. They offer a ton of different donut flavors, though the ordering system limits you to choosing three varieties per dozen. I went with the banana bread, chocolate with chocolate icing and the brown sugar with chocolate icing, and they did not disappoint. The cookies were just as impressive, hitting that perfect texture without any of the dryness you sometimes find in gluten-free baking. The shop itself is super cute and perfectly set up for a quick visit. All the preordered to-go items are neatly laid out on a cabinet for a seamless pickup. If you have some extra time, they also have drinks and food you can order at the counter, a shared parking lot that makes stopping by a breeze, and a nice outdoor seating area. I will definitely be back to mix and match some new flavors next time.

Such a great ambiance. They sell many items inside: frozen ravioli/pierogis, gluten free pasta, cheese, instant noodles, baking mixes, pasta sauces, apparel, etc. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I appreciate how seriously they take food sensitivities (no outside food or drinks to prevent cross contamination) - not many places do this, so big props to them for really caring about their customers The food, oh man. We tried the star penne pasta with pesto, garlic bread, crispy sweet potato gnocchi with vodka sauce, braised beef ravioli with roasted aglia e olio sauce, Italian panini and chicken sandwich and everything was FIRE. Can't even tell it's gluten free honestly. The pastas were cooked perfectly, all the sauces delicious and well-seasoned. I definitely dream about the crispy sweet potato gnocchi and chicken sandwich lol. The homemade chips were so light and crispy. 10/10 food, atmosphere, service, everything. This is a great place for people with food sensitivities to safely eat, and those who just want a delicious meal overall. Definitely recommend!!!

This was my third time ordering the dogs. The first two were boiled, like most Chicago dog places do it. This time I asked at the drivethrough if they'd run the dogs through the grill the way they do the sausage. First answer was no: "it makes them taste bad, they get all blistered." But then when i confirmed this is exactly what id like, he said "I'll do it for you this time, but they might not next time." I appreciate that he did it. But I didn't love being made to feel like a jerk for asking for something simple, and the premise is wrong. Boiling a dog adds nothing. Fire adds flavor. That's the Maillard reaction, it's why nobody eats a sous vide steak straight out of the bag without searing it, and it's what Michelin kitchens are built on. The concept dates back when humans figured out how to start fires. The results backed it up: the charred dogs were sensational, vastly better than the boiled ones I'd had before. If I owned this place, I'd make "char-grilled" a standard option on the menu and on DoorDash tomorrow. Blindfold 100 people and hand them one of each, and I'd bet 80-85 pick the char. The boiling tradituon was born out of convenience and cost, not flavor. If the answer had been no, I'd have skipped the dogs entirely, and if this really is a one-time favor, I'll stick to the sausage from here on. Water dogs are a no from me-a Chicago tradution that should be retired.
