Local St. Charles restaurant with a homey feel to it. Have visited multiple times and the experience is always great. Staff from the walking in all the way through leaving is genuinely friendly and welcoming. Our most recent waitress, Rosa, was great! Super attentive and patient while we made up our minds on what to eat lol This time we tried the kitchen sink ice cream and you need a whole table to even make a dent! Definitely recommend.

Nice little museum. - The image depicts a museum exhibit with glass display cases containing vintage milk bottles, old dairy tools, and historical documents. Framed photographs and posters related to dairy history are mounted on the walls, along with informational plaques. The exhibit appears to focus on the history of dairy farming and milk production, with various artifacts and memorabilia arranged for educational purposes.

The food was avetage to bad. Tuna melt was pricey for non-albacore tuna and bland. Side salad was soggy. Veggie scramble was bland. Country potatoes were unseasoned. Hashbrowns were dry. Billy's Omelet was decent but lacked much goat cheese. Corned beef hash was good. Service was great but the food really disappointed.

Biscuits Gravy Sausage Platter (until 2pm) - A white plate holds three biscuits covered in sausage gravy, with a creamy, thick texture. In the background, there are lemon wedges in a small black dish, and other plates with food, indicating a restaurant setting. The image captures a breakfast or brunch dish, emphasizing classic American comfort food.

I was in the area at a local car dealership getting my car serviced I decided to go for a lunch breakfast somewhere in the area. This leads me to my next location to review. Colonial Café in Saint Charles. I arrived at the restaurant at around noon it was obviously lunchtime. It was somewhat busy. The parking situation in the front is fairly tight most of the space that could be used for parking. They made a drive up area. When we walked into the restaurant, we waited at the front for about five minutes before anyone approached us to ask us if we needed any assistance. The hostess finally showed up she seemed somewhat aggravated. She obviously look like she'd rather be anywhere than there. We were sad near the back. I did not know actually how large this restaurant was. There was seating in all different directions. I looked over the menu and I saw many classic breakfast lunch dishes they were available, but I also saw some unique dishes. My nephew who I dined with decided to go with the chicken and waffles. I myself had a taste for biscuits and gravy and went with their biscuits and gravy. Sausage platter. I do not know why they called it a sausage platter because there was only one sausage patty that came with the meal that also was also accompanied by cubed potatoes and your choice of egg. When I reach just came to take our order, she was friendly. We asked for waters. Everything took some time to get to our table. The longest wait that was to come was for our breakfast. We waited about 15 to 20 minutes to receive our breakfast that might not seem that long in a dinner restaurant, but we were in a fast paced breakfast Lunch spot and needed to get moving. My nephew tried his chicken and waffles and said that they were very tasty. I also tried them and they were in fact very good. The waffles were light and fluffy. The chicken tasted just like a breaded chicken tender nothing special. My dish was also very good. The biscuits were good, but I can tell there's no way those were made in house. They tasted very similar to Pillsberry biscuits in a can. The sausage gravy was good. It had a good sausage flavor with slight pepper undertones. My eggs were also cooked perfectly. The cut potatoes were not that tasty. There was not a lot of flavor and some of the potatoes were very mushy and tasted somewhat old. My nephew also decided to try a cappuccino here which she said was good. The total for our brunch was just over $43. I do not know if I would come here again. It was good but it was nothing out of this world. The atmosphere was somewhat depressing interior did not look inviting the way times were somewhat long and it was not cheap for breakfast or lunch I give the colonial Café a 4.9 out of 10. Again, this is just my opinion go check this place off for yourself.

What a find! We were in town for a event and decided to try colonial Cafe in St Charles, il. The menu is loaded with great choices, but I went with the cornbeef hash skillet. My partner went with the spinach scrambler. Both were AMAZING!!!!! What really stood out was the overall atmosphere! What a fun friendly environment. Happy smiles everywhere. OUR server was Valentin. Friendly, attentive, polite and knowledgeable. He simply is the best !! I heartily recommend this wonderful place to anyone and everyone that wants a great breakfast in a great environment and great service. Fantastic!!

All we had was an apple pie, and it was heavenly. Highly recommended. We ate it cold and heated from the microwave.

Highly recommend on all fronts! Food, service, prices! Everything was so delicious. The sausage links were unmatched in flavor and texture. My husband only orders bacon but he said he'll be ordering sausage with me next time we come here!

Gosh this is my granddaughter favorite place. This a wonderful Place for family meals anytime of the day. You like ice cream you will love the best place for ice cream. I love the fact that the owner do much for charity work and feed so many. I love coming here during holidays it feels like home. Great food, good service it is like grammas cooking the best

Meatloaf w/ side salad - The image shows a meal served on a wooden table, including a salad with lettuce, tomato, onion, croutons, and dressing, a piece of meatloaf with a side of mashed potatoes garnished with herbs, and two slices of meatloaf topped with ketchup or tomato sauce. There are small containers of butter and sauce nearby, and a glass of water is partially visible.

Sliders were delicious as was the meatloaf!!! Definitely loved the fries and the mashed potatoes

Having eaten here before I was looking forward to my visit today. I was a little disappointed though. There was a funk (odor) lingering in the restaurant today that took away from the overall experience for me. The decor is actually a step above most family diners. The stone on the walls and dark wood panels make it feel more homey while the generous use of space in the dining rooms compensates for the darker tones so it doesn't feel cramped. Everything I experienced was well kept. The silverware and dishes were clean with no chips, cracks, etc. My booth was clean and in good condition as well. The staff were friendly and attentive. My waiter Andrew did a fine job. Everything was done in a timely fashion as well. The food was okay overall. The coffee was fair. The kielbasa skillet I had was really a wasted opportunity. It had a good presentation but needed some color, maybe a sprinkle of scallions or diced tomato on top. The kielbasa crumbles had a great flavor but a poor mouth feel. It felt like I was eating taco ground beef. Half or even quarter slices would have retained the flavor and felt better. The dices on the veggies were way too small. They retained almost no flavor at all and acted as an afterthought for the dish. It was a little greasy as well. The potatoes were spot on. The cast iron skillet was a nice touch as well. I really wanted to like this dish but the execution was lacking. Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes with a couple of reservations. They need to address the funky smell in the building and put a little more love into their food. I would return to give it another try. I do think their hearts are in the right place. They've just lost their way a bit.

The air is filled with intoxicating aromas of chocolate, caramel, cotton candy, candy, sugary treats, and so much more. You can't help but to feel a rush of pure bliss and happiness! Everyone was friendly and unbelievably sweet just like the treats. The decorations are frilly, girly, and pink! So, it is definitely a fairly wonderland! From the rows of bulbs and lights. To the two big swings. They make it a point to make it feel fun and festive! The walls of flowers are my favorite part. It makes you feel as if you're in a garden. I also love the Hey Sugar sign that makes for the perfect picture! They also have a British telephone booth, a scooter bar cart, along with inspirational signs that add that fun good vibes! Every little detail is well thought over and it shows. They have a huge selection of unique flavor combinations that are creative and delicious! I will definitely be back every time I'm in town! Snickerdoodle cupcake This cupcake was crumbly, dense, and rich! I loved how it had a swirl of cinnamon goodness throughout the cupcake. Not only was it aesthetically pleasing. But, it added a demotion of flavor to the cupcake that made it stand appart from just a regular cupcake. The frosting was piled high! It was airy, sweet, and light! It tasted like cinnamon French toast but, in frosting format! Unbelievably good! They also put the cutest little snickerdoodle cookie on top. I loved it! It added that little bit of much needed texture and that cuteness that I'm a sucker for. I'm big about multiple textures and well thought out meals. This cupcake was just that! If you are craving something sweet and out of this world. Get this cupcake! Only if you're a huge cinnamon fan though. Strawberry lemonade sparkling I ordered a strawberry lemonade sparkling because it was a really hot day. It was definitely a wonderful suggestion! It was sweet, tangy, and zesty! And, it was unbelievably beautiful. I loved the elegant small dices of strawberries mixed in with the sparkling lemonade. The slice of lemon and the strawberry on the side tied the whole drink together. It was just beautiful! If you enjoy carbonated beverages. Then, you have to try this wonderful creation. I personally thought that it was a little on the sweet side. But, it was still really good! My friend enjoyed every last sip of this Summery surprise. And, I guarantee that every time we're in town that we'll get one.

It was a pleasurable experience, perfect on a rainy Saturday spring day. The service was fantastic!! Starting with reservations, which was a "comedy of errors" to the moment we left. Esther's friendliness and attention to our comfort and taste elevated our experience. We started with the light, flakier tasty warm classic scones. Then we moved to the delicious, satisfying, variety of finger sandwiches - the traditional cucumber was perfectly refreshing to clean the palate before the sweet phase of our meal. In the mix there was a spinach-cheese tart which it would have been tastier served warm. I selected a violet dark tea which was lighter than I expected, perhaps it would have been stronger if would have let if brew a little longer. The assortments of pastries/sweets were delectable and mouth-watering - macaron, sponge cake, coconut chocolate drizzled macaroons, custard, and a truffle. All inviting, succulent, and scrumptious.
