German Benedict Stuffed French Toast Crepes Two eggs with Meat
    Marta M.

First time trying this spot out and was not disappointed. They have a very large menu but I'm glad because I like having different lunch options and not just breakfast (I almost always go for savory lunch). The service was good and the inside was very clean and updated looking. The portion for the price was on point I feel too. I ordered the German Benedict with potato pancakes in place of the usual English muffin. The flavor on the potato pancakes was definitely good and it came with 3 poached eggs that were perfectly cooked. The side of crepes to share were delicious as well, definitely would order again or try another flavor. My BF ordered the stuffed french toast and while it had great flavor, the French toast itself wasn't actually stuffed, it just had the "filling" between each piece - but again, the flavor was still good. Overall a great experience and will definitely come again - probably would even make this a go-to brunch for us since it's so close to home!

Briana's is a good breakfast spot with a HUMONGOUS menu. It's literally the size of an encyclopedia. When I ordered scrambled eggs and toast, to my amusement, there was almost a look of disappointment on the servers face. The food was good, the decaf coffee was good, and there was no rush to quickly leave after we completed our meal. Overall, a solid spot for breakfast.

this California club was pretty good today!

good service. nice cozy place. would say this california club was a tad bland but the cream of chicken soup was great and the fries were pretty good too! i would go back and try some of the other menu items. nice to have a place like this close by for lunch. next time i'll try the skillets with biscuits and gravy!

I don't know if they were short on staff or it is always like this, but please keep this in mind before you come. Don't come too hungry! We ordered an ice coffee, but it came with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. I'm not sure if it was wrong of me to expect a black iced coffee with a side of cream or milk... the iced coffee was extremely sweet. It tasted like chocolate milk. The waitress said they don't have plain ice coffee so I had to stick with hot coffee. The skillets were delicious! I liked how they overcooked the hash browns. I love them crunchy. If you like spice, I recommend the Azteca skillet. It was delicious. The crepes here were okay. We still ate it, but there was nothing special about it.

If you read it, it says for parties of 5 or larger, but there were only 2 of us. Also, not to mention, we waited 38 minutes for our breakfast to be delivered to our table after ordering it . I know exactly how long it was as I took a snap as soon as we arrived. Plus, I also had four cups of coffees before our food was even brought to the table. ***** BEWARE ***** There are so many breakfast options in the Elgin area, so we will just start frequenting the other ones.

Dear Coffee Haus Owner,…read more I'm disappointed with my recent experiences at your business, and it's especially unfortunate because I've been a customer since the days when your predecessor first started the business. I still remember seeing the old man at Costco carefully picking out the best kiwis. Those memories are part of what made Coffee Haus special to me, which is why it's disappointing to see some of these issues. I recently stopped by your South Elgin location, and I'd like to share a few concerns. First and foremost, as a business owner, I believe customers should receive the exact change they are owed. Please don't tell customers that there are no pennies and simply round the change down. If you are unable to provide exact change, the customer should not be the one losing money. At the very least, the amount should be rounded in the customer's favor. Better yet, make sure the register has the necessary change to give customers the correct amount. Second, when I place an order and am told that there is no tapioca, it's extremely frustrating. If a particular ingredient is essential to the products you advertise and serve, it seems reasonable to expect that you would have adequate inventory to meet customer demand. Finally, please address the condition of the bathroom. It was unpleasantly smelly and did not feel clean or presentable. I also noticed what appeared to be gang-related markings on the back of the bathroom door. The bathroom is part of the customer experience, and its condition can leave a lasting impression about the overall cleanliness and management of a restaurant. I'm sharing this because I have a history with Coffee Haus and genuinely want to see the business maintain the quality and reputation that made customers like me keep coming back. I hope you'll take these concerns seriously and make the necessary changes.

I ordered the chicken tenders with cornbread, french fries, and mac and cheese here with a sundae for dessert. I was originally looking for a light meal before an event the same evening but the entree easily fed two people with huge chicken tenders that were very crispy, tender, and perfectly marinated and seasoned. The fries were crisp and the right thickness, while the side of mac and cheese truly impressed with perfectly cooked cavatappi that was covered in a mix of cheeses. This was more delicious than many versions I've had at much more expensive restaurants. The corn bread with butter was also fluffy and flavorful, worth the additional cost to add to meal. Unfortunately I was too full to try a larger ice cream dessert, but the sundae was generously scooped and prepared well with plenty of flavor.

My husband and I had lunch there. We tried to order small because we were going to Yelp Elite event later that evening but that turned out to be more difficult than we thought it would be. We shared the crispy chicken tenders which came with two sides (we chose the four cheese mac and cheese and corn bread). The tenders was crispy and juicy and huge. We got a great value for $19.98 And no meal is complete at this former dairy without ice cream. So we had a small scoop sundae with mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was a delicious end to our meal. Our server was nice and friendly. I highly recommend Colonial Cafe!
