My best friend recommended this place. Inchecked the menu and interior andnit blew my mind with how farm and modern the interior is. The Customer Service here was so good they made sure we were ok and the wait was fast for a Sunday.
Too bad that the other staff were weird creeps, because our server was good and so was the food. A waitress repeatedly backed herself into me after sitting the loudest table directly behind us, when there was plenty of other open tables. The staff acted as whatever the opposite of Midwest hospitality is. What an embarrassing way to consult yourself. Women haters work here. Pretty pretentious vibes for a small town brunch spot with pretty affordable prices.
We drove 30 minutes to get here on a Saturday when neither one of us are working, solely based on Yelp reviews. Our "motto" is try any place once. So I arrived in a wheelchair due to my recently broken pelvis. Thank goodness my husband Ed is giant, tall and strong and can easily carry me around when needed (in this case to and from the car). Inside, the Host was very accommodating for a table. She moved a chair somewhere else so there was room for Ed to park me and my wheelchair. We were able to get disabled parking (which I temporarily have), and there was a ramp at the entrance but no button to press to automatically open the double doors. . Onto the stuff Yelp readers care about. My husband loved the coffee and was offered a coffee for the road when we left. Pretty much I hate "American Breakfast" at 99% of places because the only vegan offering is potatoes. Sometimes not even that if the potatoes are cooked in butter, not oil. They were vegan by default here, cooked in oil My husband got his very favorite, Eggs Benedict. Whether he likes the Hollondaise or not pretty much determines if we shall return to a breakfast diner. He said there was nothing bad about the Eggs Benedict, but he would not return for them. There was nothing much for vegans either, so I would not return. We both (an omnivore and a vegan) both greatly disliked the breakfast potatoes. However, thservice was fantastic, especially as a first-time person in a wheelchair. Celeste, our server, could not have been more kind. Sandy, the Manager, stopped by every table to make sure things were going well. Honestly, that earned them the 4 stars. If I had rated them on the food alone, perhaps a 2 star. So for us, we will not be back. But I would suggest that others do not try this place out.
Casual breakfast spot with modern design. This place has an array of great options for breakfast. I was personally so thrilled to find out this place has oatmeal available. Most places that offer oatmeal bowls serve is plain with no toppings which is VERY disappointing since oatmeal can truly be a great meal when done properly like fruit n honey like this place. For this fact alone this is a 8/10 in my book. The staff are patient and kind, I would definitely come back again.
I had a few minutes to spare before teaching my class in St. Charles, and instead of grabbing something quick at Culver's down the street, I noticed a cute little spot called Eat at Syrup. What really drew me in was that they offered turkey bacon on the menu. Any place willing to provide a pork alternative is worth my time. The exterior is modern and very clean, especially for being in a strip mall. The interior matches that vibe--lots of clean whites, black lettering, and even a small area that's clearly meant for photos if that's your thing. The staff I interacted with were kind and helpful. I started with a decaf coffee with flavored cream and a shot of caramel. For my meal, I ordered the basic two eggs with potatoes, turkey bacon, and a slice of cinnamon French toast. The flavors overall were fine--nothing too bold, but enjoyable. I especially liked the French toast, though it was a little firmer than I expected; a softer texture would've made it even better. The potatoes were the only real letdown. They had more of an "air fryer" feel--light and a bit dry--when I prefer them more sautéed or lightly fried with some crispiness. They weren't bad, just not what I was hoping for. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I enjoyed my meal, and I'd recommend it if you're in the St. Charles area. I definitely plan to come back and try more. For this first visit, I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 4. r
Tasty food! I got chicken and waffles. The service is good, but I always feel like they're hoping we'll leave quickly. It's bustling on the weekends, so I get it, but I'm going to take my time and enjoy myself.
One of my favorite breakfast places in the area! I love the clean, pleasant decor and the fact that I've never had to wait for a table. Their regular chicken and waffles with chives was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside). Our server, Amber, was the best server we've had. She was excellent at multitasking (she was helping all the tables in the area we were seated), friendly, and quick. She was great about the timing with asking how the food is, taking straw wrappers right away, and asking if we wanted to-go boxes and cups without skipping a beat.
everything here is always good. service is quick. we would say breakfast over lunch menu items overall. bring the whole family. plenty of parking and great location. you'll love it. very modern feel with fair prices.
Stopped in for breakfast and had about a 40 minute wait, which was expected on a busy Sunday morning. The food was good and their drinks are very refreshing! They offer a variety of fresh squeezed juices and brunch's tails. Beware the portion sizes are quite large for their dishes. I had the strawberry smash drink (not pictured) and would recommend for a spiked lemonade twist with fresh fruit mixed in. Billion $ bacon was smokey and sugary worth a try kids love 'em.
Very popular and busy place, we came at 10:30am on a Sunday and there was already a small wait, when we left there were several groups waiting. Large selection or brunch items. Portion sizes are decent, I got the Santa Fe omelette and only managed to finish half my food (didn't even touch my pancakes which I upgraded from an English muffin). I got their blueberry basil limeade which I enjoyed but was more tart than I expected. Service was good, they refilled our waters multiple times and didn't rush us even though the restaurant was busy and people were waiting.
The food was excellent I truly love their huge breakfast The chicken and waffle out of this world the link sauce is so delicious The ambiance is pretty neat And welcoming modern and clean The service was very prompt and the server was very nice Service is amazing we ordered fruit Lime aids out of this world The only thing I was disappointed was that the pancakes were raw in the middle I took a bite and bright them home for dinner and cooked them They tasted better
This was only my second time at syrup but it was great once again. I got the mediterranean omelet which was amazing and I was able to get egg white substituted which was great. I also got a side of the cinnamon roll French toast which was delicious. My omelet also came with a roasted potatoes which were nice and crispy. Portions are very generous and prices are average given the area. Our server was very attentive and fast. Great experience.
It is a modern restaurant that serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch with no boundaries. The style of decor is inspired by rusty farm design. The color scheme is black and white monochromatic; giving the layout the appearance of being broader The menu is simple, but it contains a wide range of enticing items. I chose their famous breakfast (legendary breakfast), which included two sunny side up eggs (cage free eggs), grits, bacon (billion dollar bacon), and a side of two mini waffles. The bacon is crispy and caramelized to perfection. There's a hint of sweetness. I'm assuming it's honey-coated. It's unfortunate because it was the only thing I enjoyed. I was anticipating the grit because I never had it before. It doesn't look appealing at all, just a pile of mush covered in cheese sauce and topped with chopped herbs, possibly parsley? The first taste was terrible; it was flavorless and so disappointing that I didn't bother finishing it and gave it away. The eggs and waffles were delicious. I'm delighted it was nicely executed. I'm not sure why it's labeled legendary when it was average. The meal was not particularly filling, so I added a side of cinnamon roll French toast. It has a beautiful crust and fluffy crumb. It was drizzled with cream cheese frosting/syrup. I smiled broadly due to the sensation of the vanilla and cinnamon blended together with every bite. This meal alone had redeemed itself and softened the blow. This restaurant is not horrible at all; I just ordered the wrong items. I hope to return if I'm in the neighborhood.

Staff was very attentive, even the general manager stopped by to say hi to us. The atmosphere is very spacious and bright. The food was great. The one comment I would have is that we ordered thick cut bacon, but was not thick cut. I think it cost $5.75 for three strips so you might want to change that to just regular bacon, that's my only comment but it was very nice Restaurant. read more
Met up with my friend for brunch at 10am. The place was packed and we waited about 25 minutes. There was plenty of parking. We sat in a corner booth and their menu was huge. They did list some items as gluten-free. I asked the server if the gluten-free pancakes were cooked separately and she said yes and that they had gluten-free toast. I ordered an orange juice. It was really bitter. Not my type at all. I ordered the short stack of gluten-free pancakes with strawberries and hash browns. She said she would put in an allergy alert and not have any seasoning added just to be safe. My food came and the pancakes looked like buttermilk pancakes. I asked the server and she did confirm. I tried them and they tasted like buttermilk pancakes. I didn't eat much as I was worried. When the check came it did say buttermilk pancakes and nothing about gluten-free. But also the hash browns said seasoning on the ticket when they came out with none. I did tell the server I had a gluten allergy. I was just so suspicious that I didn't eat much at all. They could have gluten-free options, but it would have been nice for the server to confirm when setting down the food or putting an allergy stick in. I did have mild symptoms after I left, but they were different than I had experienced before so I was not sure. read more
We had a great experience at Syrup in St Charles. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the food truly delivered. The omelets were fluffy, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The pancakes were also outstanding--fluffy, delicious, and easily some of the best we've had. We especially loved the country-style potatoes, with their thick-cut style and perfectly cooked texture. Overall, everything was well-prepared and satisfying. This is definitely my new favorite breakfast spot, and I'll be coming back again. read more

What a great place for to eat! We had my mom's 72nd birthday brunch here and they accommodated me and 17 of my family members. We waited a little bit to get our table but for 18 people, we expected longer wait. The food is plentiful and done well. We were all thoroughly impressed by how fast and tasty everything was and our server was excellent. It's not easy serving 18 people, but she was so nice. She even made my side pancakes with sprinkles and whipped cream so my little one could eat it as her meal. The food is superb. We basically ordered more than half of the menu and we were not disappointed. The chicken fried chicken was cooked perfectly. It was not dry and the gravy was the right amount of salty. My sister enjoyed her BLT-E A, and my nieces enjoyed their chilaquiles (humongous BTW) and crab eggs benny. Would definitely come back for drinks as well :) read more

Our service was top notch. The server we had was super friendly and did an amazing job. The food tastes as good as it looks. Huge portions. I'm a big eater and I couldn't finish everything. I am actually craving this and will go back again! Too bad we're from out of town because this would be a regular spot! read more

Came out to Syrup for a Sunday brunch around 9:15am. When checking in, the host let us know there would be a 10-15 minute wait and took our name/phone number to notify us when our table was ready. We only waited about 5 minutes before we were able to be seated! Inside, Syrup follows the trendy magnolia style that a lot of "boujee brunch" spots have. We loved the simple black and white aesthetics with a branding feature wall and cool lighting accents. The menu had a wide variety of offerings between breakfast, lunch, coffee, and cocktails. On top of their menu, they do also have seasonal offerings. To start, I got the seasonal Iced Lavender Latte. I was very impressed with the size and flavor of the latte! Next, we ordered the Biscuits and Gravy with Eggs as well as the Breakfast Sliders. The breakfast sliders had (3) mini brioche buns with bacon jam, scrambled eggs, and a sausage patty. As a side, my partner substituted the seasoned potatoes with their cheesy grits (no upcharge). I got the Biscuits and Gravy which was served in a skillet dish for presentation purposes only. The eggs and potatoes came out on a separate dish so one could add them in or eat on their own. Overall, the food was basic; as a whole, it was lacking salt, pepper, and herbs. My biscuits were warm and not hot which probably stemmed from the skillet dish not being warm. My partner enjoyed his meal but I can't say I left feeling satisfied. The prices weren't terrible compared to similar styled brunch spots but for the food quality, I wouldn't go back. read more

Of all the brunch places I've ever been to... this is the best! Even come at least 5 times since Christmas. The menu is incredible, the service is stellar and I have zero complaints! Definitely recommend their bloody Mary's and the breakfast sliders! read more
Came in for brunch with the girls. Wait time was about 5 minutes didn't have a reservation. Was a good amount of people for a Thursday. Waiter was friendly as well and staff. Drinks- Peach Bellini (8/10) good flavoring, Syrup Sunrise (7/10) , Blueberry Limeade (7/10) overall good just lacked the actual limeade flavoring. Food- Mini Waffle Flight (7/10), some soggy from the syrups getting into it, wasn't a deal breaker, the chocolate and bacon didn't hit. The banana and maiu were my fav but raspberry marscapone did me dirty. Also was $15 but it was filling so I'd get it again. Crispy potatoes on side- 10/10 amazing, with a little bit of let ketchup too Cluck cluck skillet- (6/10) Packed to the max with chicken, eggs, and potatoes and more. Wasn't terrible but could have been better if eggs weren't over cooked and had some more seasoning in it. Hei Hei Panini- (5/10) Edible but nothing crazy, it was pretty bland. Fries weren't too bad just tasted really dry Very cute inside though and friendly staff. Perfect for brunch dates or with groups of friends. read more

We were here for post-church Easter brunch and we were surprisingly quickly provided with a table. The Staff was working super hard given the holiday so I don't hold any delays against them. The menu was so big and everything seemed appetizing. Syrup had so many choices for breakfast and lunch, it was hard to make a decision. I settled on a 5-egg omelette, which is beyond huge (You will take half of it home), plus potatoes (upgraded to bacon, crema, Cheese, and chives-yum), plus a side of pancakes. My bf had the legendary breakfast with a side of French toast. The French toast was truly not to be missed. It was large and soft and crisped. Finally, in honor of its name, Syrup offers a variety of syrups for your sweets! I tried the maple syrup, sweet cream, and lemon curd, all of which were delicious. I will be back to Syrup! Thanks for making our holiday brunch memorable and delicious :) read more

The absolute best breakfast/brunch/lunch cafe that I have ever found. I brought my father and mother in law here for breakfast on a fluke. I was immediately impressed with the way we were greeted. The manager greeted us with a huge smile and quickly placed us on the waiting list. It was an early Thursday Morning and there was already a short wait to be seated. That also let me know right away that the food was really good. Our wait time was shorted than estimated. As we walked through the restaurant I noticed that there were many beautifully plated meals. The smell of vanilla flavored waffles and bacon filled the air. My stomach growled on cue. Once seated our server Petra also greeted us with a very warm smile and offered us coffee. The coffee was delicious and fresh. My father ordered a lemon aide it was made from scratch and we could see the fresh fruit and mint leaves. However, the best was yet to come. The food. The food is the best breakfast food that I have ever had, period. Better than Richard Walkers, Blueberry Hill, or any other restaurant I can name. Both of the other institutions are great, in their own right, but Syrup is even better. IJS. Syrup was so good that I brought my husband back to try it the next day and I was even more impressed the second time. Petra was our server again and I tried a different item of the menu. It was just as good. Now I am going to have to come back and try something new each time: next up chicken and waffles. In sum, when in the St. Charles area, visit Syrup and see if you're not convinced: Syrup is the best . read more
Plenty to choose from off the menu and the food here is really tasty. The portions are pretty hefty and worth the price. My friend enjoyed their chicken and waffles. I had the nova Benedict and it had a bit too much hollandaise for my liking but it had a good flavor. I wanted to try one of their specialty dishes and ended up having one of the most memorable pancakes ever - the cinnamon swirl. Warm and delicious with the right amount of cream cheese icing (for the leftovers because I certainly couldn't finish that in one sitting lol), this was far from the typical pancake I would order but I ventured out and will surely go back for another. It was a side/half order and was still a huge pancake. It was a bit busy during our Sunday morning visit, but the wait wasn't too bad. Everyone was friendly from the customers that were also waiting, to the staff. I will say that our server in particular was a bit hard to catch a few times, but she eventually made sure to get our items when needed. Syrup has a clean look with minimal and modern decor. It feels comfortable inside. I would for sure come back. read more
First time eating here... We stopped because we've been looking for a new go-to brunch place in the area and it was on the way home from an appointment. I'm glad we tried it because it was delicious! Right when you walk in, it's very clean looking and bright and open. The staff was all very attentive and friendly. I wanted to try just about everything on the menu so it was hard to choose but we'll definitely be back. The crabby cake Benedict was SO GOOD, highly recommend. The side crepes were also very yummy. My BF devoured his carnivore skillet but the bite I tried was pretty great! Will FOR SURE be coming back again soon. read more
Delicious! We showed up on a Saturday at around 12 and for two of us the wait was only 35 minutes.. we did not know about the Yelp check in prior.. when we were seated our waitress quickly came and took our order. We got the fresh squeeze orange juice (couldn't even snag a photo prior to drinking it) and it was SO FRESH! Also grabbed the bite chocolate frappe and it was way better than any Starbucks! Ordered the crab cake Benedict and waffle flight. If you're a sweets person the waffle flight is for you. The establishment was clean and everyone was so friendly. Also reasonably priced. For two entrees and drinks our total with a tip was under $70! read more

IF I could give this spot 10 stars or more, I so would. I was hesitant to try it because I thought it was a snobby upscale judgy place but it's SO not. They were so nice and welcoming! Very friendly service, it is very nice in there though. Upscale looks but friendly. The drink menu is quite large, I really loved that. The bloody mary was delicious, all the drinks were. But the bloody mary has a lot going on, the pickles omg they must have been brined in jalapeno juice because they were spicy but good spicy. Chicken & Waffles to die for, the breading has such great flavor. My crepes were perfect, not chewy at all. The bacon though, it was ok, I was not a fan of the smoky sugary flavor. But that's just me. Can't wait to come back! read more
