We ordered oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and a skillet. The restaurant is small but very busy and has constant customers. The service is good. The kitchen looked clean and well-managed. The biscuits and gravy was very salty. The skillet was decent. The oatmeal was good. It must have been an off day because the only bathroom for the public had no soap and so so many people had to use it.

Stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning and was not disappointed. Service was excellent ! We waited a few minutes to be seated and our server noticed we were not locals, probably because most of the customers seemed to know one another!! She asked us if we wanted breakfast suggestions and shared her recommendations. I had the short stack pumpkin pancakes with a side of hashbrowns. The short stack was two large fluffy pancakes served with icing on the side. The pumpkin spice seasoning was the perfect amount . The hashbrowns were shredded potatoes, fried and crispy. My husband had the steak skillet with a side of French toast. The skillet was topped with four over easy eggs. They offer drinks to go!! Our server recommended lunch options, for our next visit. We had a tasty breakfast, in a friendly welcome atmosphere.

Update: Gave them a while and tried this place again. Oh well. Got the eggs benedict. Menu states that it is a classic benedict with Canadian bacon. The Canadian bacon looked like it was sliced. I realized why when I tried it. It was about 4 thin slices of honey ham. The hash browns were mushy and gross. My husband had the breakfast burrito that he said was okay. We each brought home half of our meals since it wasn't the greatest. Our son ate both. I wanted to see if I was being over critical. I asked him what he thought. He said the burrito was okay and the benedict was weird. He said the Canadian bacon tasted weird and sweet. Told him it was honey ham. All he said was...why would they do that? If you have a menu item that doesn't sell enough to purchase the correct ingredients, take it off your menu. Service was fine and upped the rating for them. This was our third try and probably our last. Bummer.

This is a wonder place to have breakfast or lunch. Too bad they don't serve dinner. I am sure this would be equally as good. We have eaten at this establishment and have always had good food and a good time. The wait staff are very friendly. My only regret is that we do not live closer.

    Biscuits and gravy good

Just when you think a staple like corned beef hash can't get any better you get proven wrong. Done to perfection, fantastic quality eggs done right with orange yokes, real hash browns.

We already loved the food and atmosphere but Double Egg goes the extra mile. With how busy they were, we didn't have long of a wait. They said about 15 minutes give or take and I feel like it was less than that. We were seated in a booth and attended to fairly quickly. Quick enough that I barely got a chance to look at the menu and get ahold of my toddler. Our waitress gave us more time to check out what we wanted without us feeling rushed. Something I will always love at any restaurant is fresh squeezed juices. My favorite being orange juice, but they do have several others as well. The complimentary soup was delicious. Chicken and rice. I didn't think to order my toddler one because he can be fairly picky and I didn't want to waste it. Bad idea on my end apparently because I only got two bites -- while my toddler devoured the rest. I ordered a quart of the soup to go. SO glad that is an option! When our food arrived, which was fairly quickly in my opinion, my mom's was missing cheese. She brought it to our waitress's attention and her plate was immediately brought back with the missing cheese in place. I got the chilaquiles which were phenomenal. For those who are curious, the salsa verde that is used can be a little spicy for those with a more sensitive pallet. My toddler and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I feel that the prices are very reasonable. When we were leaving, my mother and I were each handed a rose and told happy Mother's Day. This was the extra mile. Not only do they provide so many made-in-house options (fresh squeezed juice, etc), and complimentary soups; they knew that something so small as handing out single roses to mothers, could make a huge impact.. and they did it. For those of us that are single parent and have toddlers, such a small act of kindness really goes a long way. Thank you Double Egg for going the extra mile. We'll definitely be back again.

Finishing up your experience at Corner Grind you're sent off with a kind farewell and a need to come back. Corner Grind is the best because they want your experience to be as memorable as it can be. One thing I would love to see Corner Grind do is to extend its week-day hours. High schoolers that attend Kaneland, get out of school at 2:50. By the time I get out of the school parking lot and arrive at Corner Grind their closed. As a high schooler, I would and as many others would go to Corner Grind after school to get a drink or sandwich and utilize the environment to study and debrief from the long day at school. Even if the extension of business hours were just for another hour Corner Grind would have a lot of business for that hour due to the loyal customer base. Even without this change Corner Grind is still the best coffee shop in the Chicago land area.

From the moment you step in, you're wrapped in traditional Scottish charm, classic décor, old-fashioned and beautiful tea sets, and a sense that time has politely slowed down. Service is proper, attentive, and gracious in that old-school way that makes the whole experience feel special. The classic three-tier tea was exactly what you hope for: savory bites, warm treats, and sweet indulgences. But let's talk about the scones, because they absolutely stole the show, crisp on the outside, buttery and melt-in-your-mouth tender inside. The kind of scone that makes you pause, smile, and quietly judge all other scones you've ever had. Add to that a great bar and well-crafted cocktails, and suddenly high tea feels both elegant and celebratory. In my book, this is hands down the best place for high tea in the western suburbs -- perfect for birthdays, friendships, and moments worth savoring.

On Saturday, November 15th, I opened the McDonald's app, added the $1.00 coffee offer to my drive-thru code, and placed my order at the window. The discount didn't apply. When I showed the employee my phone, she said their system was rebooting and refused to honor the deal. A few days later, I tried again at the same location with the same $1.00 coffee offer. The discount still didn't apply. The attendant told me to refresh the app, but even after doing that and generating a new code, nothing changed. When I tried to re-add the offer, the app said it had already been used. I told them to cancel my order, but later found out I was still charged. Paying three times what was expected for a cup of coffee might seem trivial, but it's frustrating and unacceptable.
