    Chilaquiles
    Ashleigh L.

Meh. I had higher expectations for this place. If I scored on food alone- it would be a 5 star experience- the chilaquiles were well worth it! However, we came in around 11am on a Saturday for brunch. The place was empty and the service was mediocre. As it got busier, the service remained the same except- we had one in our party that didn't get her food and had to wait. The food was great. The experience wasn't. And being from out of town, it's not a place I would absolutely have to go back to if I returned.

Came here for dinner after Swedish days and it was great! I think the decor could use some updating/ cleaning but overall it was great. The buffalo cauliflower is a must!!! I didn't care for the nachos as I felt like the cheese was vegan so it wasn't the ooey gooey feeling that I was looking for The service was great!

Came here in between brunch and dinner on the weekend. It was a soft dinner menu given that not all the menu items were available but our waiter didn't have a good sense of what was available. I had wanted to try the pot roast but it was too early for that. I got the burger instead. It had pickles, cheese, tomato jam, onions. It was pretty good! They served it with plenty of fries. My mother had the lobster sandwich and asked for a different side than fries. It was a $6 up-charge for a salad! It was an ok experience just wasn't wowed.

Update 2024: This place has changed.... Menu items are very different, everything we loved is now gone or the recipe has changed. Probably won't return, sadly.

Tried this place for lunch There was only another party at the restaurant Tried the turkey club that came with fries or salad and soup The turkey meat seemed to be from the deli as opposed to the typical turkey meat provided in restaurants - disappointing The soup seemed watered down and not overly tasty Service wasn't great my waitress seemed annoyed Restaurant itself is clean and modern free parking in front of restaurant

We came for bunch. Chilaquiles gets 5 stars--I've had this dish several times at different places and this was the most flavorful, chips still crispy, eggs cooked perfectly. Bloody Mary gets 2 stars--$13 and comes with a "seasonal skewer" which was just two plain olives--how disappointing. I even confirmed with our server that it was in fact their seasonal skewer--very weird.

I stopped in for a glass of wine after a concert. My bartender, Delaney, was a fascinating conversationalist and an all-around nice person. I want to return if only to talk with her again.

I went here recently with some friends. We had a great time, the staff were so great! We didn't have reservations, so sat at a table near the bar. It was small so we asked to shift to a table, and with some patience we were able to be seated about 25-30 minutes later. Very accommodating and we appreciated it! The food was pretty good - we started with the cheese curds which are honestly amazing, very different than your standard cheese curd. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I got a burger and side salad - the salad was delicious (I think I got the Greek) but my burger was lacking some flavor, could have used a dash of salt and more aioli or tomato jam. The drink menu overall needs some work too. The bar has a few bottles, there's like 6 beers on tap, they just really need to bump things up and offer more. The overall atmosphere is funky and creative, I love it!

Stopped here for an early dinner with my family on a Saturday night. Sat outside on the patio where there are a few tables and a chill vibe. The only con is you're looking out into the parking lot. I think our servers name was Michael, he was fantastic. Joked around with my kid and when he found out we were from out of town, explained the vibe of the whole restaurant (sustainable, farm to table, etc). Loved the mismatched plates. Yelp reviews highly suggested the cheese curds so we had to start with those. The pickled vegetables were a nice touch as it helped to break up the heaviness of the cheese. The honey mustard sauce was delicious. We also ordered the sliders kids meal and the crispy chicken sandwich. Both were amazing! Fries were perfectly crispy too. I went inside to go to the restroom and it was a totally different vibe in there. Very romantic and cool, loved the art on the walls. Seems like a place that could be good for a family night out or a hot date! Always nice to find a place like that.

We made our first visit here, on a Saturday morning for brunch and it wasn't too busy. The atmosphere was cool, the staff were friendly and the food was good. The Chilaquiles was not your traditional kind but it was a really good rendition of it. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and we recommend checking this place out!

I went here with the intention of getting a few drinks and some food but was amazed with the quality. The prices for the food were reasonable but I thought the drinks were a little expensive for what you got. The quality of the food was really delicious. I got the Korean tacos and it was fresh and yummy. The service was great! Our server was outgoing and attentive. I ate outside and it was small and private. I would come here again!

When you walk in, this place has a good vibe. It's got beautiful artwork and a good amount of seating. Service was good, everyone was nice. We had the Buffalo cauliflower and cheese curds and I was more so excited about this place Because both these dishes are gluten free! It's hard to find GF cheese curds. Amazing dishes! Great happy hour deal, I will be coming back for more dinner plates as we really only went for apps and drinks! Definitely recommend to everyone to try! They also have their own parking!

Updated menu since the last was posted was over 5 years ago. Didnt get a shot of the drink menus, but it was pretty large.

I like the cauliflower appetizer and their bloody mary. Not much vegetarian on the menu and an average nice interior.

We also had the lobster pasta wow on the sauce and they were NOT shy with the lobster! Which also was fresh and delicious! We then spilt the sea bass fish which they spilt up and brought us out our own dishes, and the owner and head chef delivered to our table himself which was such an awesome touch! On my…read morevisit here, I had the opportunity to try two dishes off the shareables menu and was super impressed with both of them. Service was also quick and friendly throughout the entire meal. The Birria egg rolls were a bit on the smaller side but made a big impression with its preparation. I've never had birria wrapped in anything as crispy as the wonton wrapper this was wrapped in. The birria was flavorful while being tender and not being too salty. The white cheddar and chihuahua cheese added a small amount of extra saltiness and a bit more fat, which matched well with the chipotle aiola. The duck poutine was incredibly flavorful, while sitting on the edge of potentially being too bold. The fries were incredibly crispy though there was quite a bit of gravy on the dish and the white cheddar cheese curds did a great job of keeping the entire dish hot throughout the meal, while adding a little bit of extra flavor. The bacon and onion added some umami though it almost made the dish a bit too salty and the duck confit added a nice protein element. Overall a little pricey, but given the more unique menu and quality of both the flavors and textures, it's worth the premium. The food here is definitely memorable and in line with excellent options available in Geneva.

I'm going to leave my honest review while also noting what I saw from other people -FOOD is actually really good here! And it's gotten better since they first opened. They added a lot of stuff recently. My first time there I had a wrap that was huge and really good, fries are epic. -DRINKS Their beer wall is literally local, not "fake local" with Chicago beers lol. They have a really wide range of things at the bar and cocktails were cool, but I haven't tried too many of them. -GAMEPLAY has content deals going on, huge selection of games, impressive variety for the space. -VIBE is EPICCCCC. They hit the sweet spot for being kid friendly, corporate friendly, and college frat boy friendly all at the same time. Super rare to be able to pull that off. It's laid out well and designed well for that to happen. I've seen moms work at the bar tables with a beer and lunch whole their kid goes to play games. I've been there myself with kids around and during late night hours and never once felt like I was around a bunch of children or a bunch of belligerents. Impressive. Good for LITERALLY anyone and everyone. -STAFF has been pretty helpful 10/10 times. I feel like they're all super kind which reflects on the management in my opinion. When I've had a problem or noticed someone else was a bit upset or hadn't gotten fast service on busy hours, they seemed to be willing to problem solve (I like to eavesdrop). I think they're well trained to work with customer service in mind, again has to be reflecting on management, -NO CASH! This seems to be the new norm at a lot of places, and they don't do any extra CC fees that literally every other business has. Honestly, I've seen some people that maybe had a bad experience and they could have been more understanding before reviewing, but I've been the same way. All that said, I love this little gem in St Charles and it's nice to have some variety in options out here. I want to see small businesses do well so they've got my loyalty for sure!
