I came to the Walrus Room with my colleagues for dinner. We had a private space in the back and pre-selected menu. The service was awesome! We had a couple servers who were knowledgeable and attentive. For food, I got the Caesar side salad and lobster pasta. The lobster pasta was incredible!! We shared some apps too, the burrata and shrimp which were both delicious as well. The place was pretty crowded for a Tuesday night. I would definitely return and highly recommend for private events!

The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax-- Of cabbages--and kings-- And why the sea is boiling hot-- And whether pigs have wings. As an Alice in wonderland fan, I am obsessed with this place! Nestled in a cute little corner of Geneva it's the perfect place for a nice dinner. The overall atmosphere is low key, cool vibes and awesome staff throughout the whole place. We celebrated our anniversary and they gave us complimentary wine, awesome. The drinks were so good, freshly made ingredients. Our waiter, Tony, was amazing! Great attention to detail and recommendations for us since it was our first time visiting. Appetizers were amazing: shrimp de jonghe, shallot tarte tatin and New Orleans bbq shrimp. Entrees: Wagyu sirloin and Friday fish fry with roasted vegetable and whipped potato sides. All delicious! Will definitely be back.

BBQ Shrimp - the bread was SO good I don't like the legs on the shrimp, but it's not a huge issue.

Wes was my server and he was fantastic! Very knowledgeable on the menu & just had a great personality. I LOVE the decor and vibe in here. The Delmonico was sooo yummy, however it could have possibly had a bit more of a crust & the garlic butter was too cold. I advise you to get the steakhouse wedge!!! Trust me. The bathroom decor is also really cute. Love the vintage perfume bottle.

My 40th bday at Walrus Room

Great find!! Came here for the first time during restaurant week and was blown away. The food, the service, the ambiance... 10s across the board. Just celebrated my 40th birthday there and everyone was so impressed, they're spreading the word!! Can't wait to come back

Date night at The Walrus Room was awesome. We both love seafood, so we went nuts. Escargot and crab cake apps both offered unique flavors. The trout and walleye were both also great. Good portion size and the final bill, even with drinks, wasn't crazy. A great spot to eat before a comedy show at The Comedy Vault.

Shorts, flip flops, and torn tee-shirts is the vibe - NOT fine dining. I felt extremely overdressed in a dress and heels. The decor inside is nice, but it still felt like a local bar rather than an upscale restaurant. There was no bread service which surprised me since I've been to several supper clubs, and that has always been a standard part of the meal. My beet salad was HUGE and good but nothing special. I ordered the walleye, and literally every bite had at least 4 bones. Yuck. The ice cream sandwich was the best part of the meal with homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Talk about a hidden gem. My husband and I drove past The Walrus Room, not once, not twice, but three times before we were finally successful on our fourth try. It is in a strip mall on State Street between 4th Street and 5th Street. There is no signage that is visible from the street. Going through the stress of getting to the The Walrus Room is well worth it. This is a fabulous restaurant. Beware, the portions of all items are HUGE! I was surprised at the amount of food that we were given. We started with some appetizers for the table to share. We had the Chorizo Mussels (P.E.I mussels, white wine, garlic, shallots, French fries) and the steakhouse wedge salad (Iceberg, Danish blue cheese, Nueske's bacon). The mussels were perfectly cooked. The shells came apart easily and the chorizo sauce added some flavor to the dish without becoming too spicy. The wedge salad came with crispy iceberg lettuce and the bacon and blue cheese dressing added some great flavor. After the appetizers, I wasn't feeling super hungry. I ordered the Fried Perch Sandwich (lake perch, tempura batter, remoulade, kale slaw) because it looked like the smallest item on the menu. This also came with French fries. The flavor was really good. The perch was light and crispy and the toppings added a rich flavor to the sandwich. The fries were truffle parmesan flavored and did not need any sauce to add flavor. My husband had the half slab of baby back ribs off the supper club specials menu. This came with house salad, whipped potatoes & roasted vegetables. The ribs were overcooked and the barbecue sauce was not very flavorful. I don't know how he had room after the appetizers and entrees but our friend ordered a scoop of ice cream for dessert. Overall, The Walrus Room comes very highly recommended. The food is excellent and the ambiance is great.

As good a place as any for the area. Cool Alice in wonderland theme. Dark and chill vibes. Tried the arctic char and trout. Both very skillfully prepared. The arctic char had an excellent crust and was cooked perfectly. The trout was the standout for me. Great combination of crunch from the shaved almonds, acidity from the puree, garlic (well for garlic's sake). Drink was strong and well balanced. All around a solid no nonsense meal with zero pretense. Would definitely return. Service was good too. Not quite on par with the likes of the Mandrake but good.

Very pretty, cozy place! Staff is very friendly and helpful with meal selection! The drink was very tasty but small glass...

I've never been to a supper club although I'd beg to argue this is actually an upscale speakeasy with fantastic food. Came here with a group of friends for a later reservation time and the place was packed - reservations highly recommended! Our waitress was attentive and helpful, she gave great recommendations and offered insight on items we were considering. We ordered a variety of cocktails, appetizers, entrees, desserts, and after dinner drinks. Just all around exceptional and very elevated supper club food. I also can't get over the atmosphere here... just feels like you're taking a break from the world. Love the vibe, drinks, food, and service!!

The food was absolutely amazing we had the smoked deviled eggs, oysters and the pears with blue cheese and toasted pistachios all were delicious!! We also had the lobster pasta wow on the sauce and they were NOT shy with the lobster! Which also was fresh and delicious! We then spilt the sea bass fish which they spilt up and brought us out our own dishes, and the owner and head chef delivered to our table himself which was such an awesome touch! And he's was so kind and wonderful to talk to! And then came the dessert which was the butterscotch pudding.......WOW I'm pretty sure this was made in Heaven! Carson was our waiter and was wonderful too!! He is delightful and very knowledgeable of the entire menu and all the drinks I'm a very picky wine drinker and he gave me the perfect recommendation after listening to me. The overall experience is truly one of my favorites!! And the ambience is wonderful too!! We loved the open kitchen as well!! If you haven't been, GO!! You will not be disappointed!! On my…read morevisit here, I had the opportunity to try two dishes off the shareables menu and was super impressed with both of them. Service was also quick and friendly throughout the entire meal. The Birria egg rolls were a bit on the smaller side but made a big impression with its preparation. I've never had birria wrapped in anything as crispy as the wonton wrapper this was wrapped in. The birria was flavorful while being tender and not being too salty. The white cheddar and chihuahua cheese added a small amount of extra saltiness and a bit more fat, which matched well with the chipotle aiola. The duck poutine was incredibly flavorful, while sitting on the edge of potentially being too bold. The fries were incredibly crispy though there was quite a bit of gravy on the dish and the white cheddar cheese curds did a great job of keeping the entire dish hot throughout the meal, while adding a little bit of extra flavor. The bacon and onion added some umami though it almost made the dish a bit too salty and the duck confit added a nice protein element. Overall a little pricey, but given the more unique menu and quality of both the flavors and textures, it's worth the premium. The food here is definitely memorable and in line with excellent options available in Geneva.

I'm going to leave my honest review while also noting what I saw from other people -FOOD is actually really good here! And it's gotten better since they first opened. They added a lot of stuff recently. My first time there I had a wrap that was huge and really good, fries are epic. -DRINKS Their beer wall is literally local, not "fake local" with Chicago beers lol. They have a really wide range of things at the bar and cocktails were cool, but I haven't tried too many of them. -GAMEPLAY has content deals going on, huge selection of games, impressive variety for the space. -VIBE is EPICCCCC. They hit the sweet spot for being kid friendly, corporate friendly, and college frat boy friendly all at the same time. Super rare to be able to pull that off. It's laid out well and designed well for that to happen. I've seen moms work at the bar tables with a beer and lunch whole their kid goes to play games. I've been there myself with kids around and during late night hours and never once felt like I was around a bunch of children or a bunch of belligerents. Impressive. Good for LITERALLY anyone and everyone. -STAFF has been pretty helpful 10/10 times. I feel like they're all super kind which reflects on the management in my opinion. When I've had a problem or noticed someone else was a bit upset or hadn't gotten fast service on busy hours, they seemed to be willing to problem solve (I like to eavesdrop). I think they're well trained to work with customer service in mind, again has to be reflecting on management, -NO CASH! This seems to be the new norm at a lot of places, and they don't do any extra CC fees that literally every other business has. Honestly, I've seen some people that maybe had a bad experience and they could have been more understanding before reviewing, but I've been the same way. All that said, I love this little gem in St Charles and it's nice to have some variety in options out here. I want to see small businesses do well so they've got my loyalty for sure!
