November 2025: I went to Mio Modo in St. Charles for my sister-in-law's birthday. I love the Francesca's chain, the food is always spot-on and the decor is always lovely and eye-catching. The bar at this location was stunning! Very beautiful and I loved the plant decor. Our waiter, James, was very friendly and provided great service. He also brought us each Limoncello shots to try at the end of our meal, which we enjoyed. We all loved our food! For appetizers, we shared the calamari and roasted beets. For our entrees we had the lamb shank, ravioli, shrimp pasta, and Francesca's salad with chicken. Every dish was amazing, filling, and the flavors were outstanding! For dessert, we ordered tiramisu, chocolate cake, and the sloppy sundae. I can't say enough good things about Francesca's and I always look forward to dining there!

Had my daughter's baby shower here and can not express how wonderful the excellent food and service we were afforded. It was really awesome. My thanks to Mio Modo. We'll be back soon. Lewis & Sandy Klinn

Came during lunch time at noon. We made reservations, but it wasn't packed. There is complimentary bread with olive oil and cheese. I had the Paloma drink which was really good and refreshing. Appetizer we had the Focaccia di Recco, which was really good. The light cheese was baked inside and the bread was light airy and crispy. The honey was lightly drizzled with 2 dollops of honey comb that you can spread more on your piece. It took a while to come out, which we didn't notice since we were chatting away. But so worth the wait. My main I had the Linguine Arrabbiata. Wasn't too spicy and noodles were cooked perfectly. It was pretty large and I had about half of it to take home as leftovers. We finished with Lemon Olive Oil cake. Very soft and moist. Fresh strawberry slices and blueberry on top with whipped cream. Very delicious. Plenty of parking to be find next to the building on both sides. The entrance is by the road facing the West side off of Geneva Rd/ 2nd Street.

    Rigatoni alla Melanzane
    Robert V.

Great Italian spot in St Charles with a trendy interior! Came with a big group and got lucky that it was a Tuesday, 50% off bottles of wine. Our server, Donna, was lovely and handled our lively group well! We actually ran into her daughter who was the bartender of the bar we went to after as well which was such a funny coincidence. For apps we ordered the meatballs and carpaccio. The meatballs were delicious along with the bread that came with them. The carpaccio was a little strange, since it had avocado, parmesan, capers, and mushrooms as toppings. I feel like usually with a raw beef dish you want to highlight the meat's quality and leave it pretty plain but regardless, it wasn't bad and at least there was a lot of it! For an entree I ordered the Rigatoni alla Melanzane which was great, the eggplant was cooked perfectly. Overall, we had a great experience at Mio Modo!

Tried Mio Modo during lunch break. It was a bit difficult to figure out where to park. The interior/ambience is lovely - modern, soft, and clean. I think there were only 2 other people in the whole restaurant and I stood there for several minutes after I came in prior to my presence being acknowledged for seating. That was frustrating. The menu is reasonable, and the food was good. I picked the chicken parm, generous portion, sauce was good, pasta was cooked well. The mass amount of aurgula on top was a bit odd but took it off. The complimentary bread with oil and cheese was good. It also took what seems to be a lengthy time frame for me to get the check when I tried to leave which again was frustrating particularly when there were very few people in the restaurant. Despite the minor frustrations, it seems like a reasonable place that I would give another try.

My friend and I had a wonderful experience this weekend! The food was amazing, omg the sauce was life changing. The service was fantastic, she paced everything perfectly. The tables were a little close together, the people next to us even said something. It was awkward how close we were. The decor is nice, it is a lovely place.

    Lentil Appetizer

Very clean, wonderful experience. Everything made was fresh, came for lunch and had the lentil appetizer (which was a completely new and different way to serve it) - but it was delicious! Main course: linguine w/clams, rigatoni vodka with crumbs of sausage. (Again/ phenomenal). Paired it with a Pinot (Tuscan) Noir. Wife had a Prosecco, and it went very well with our meals. To finish, we both had their gelatos, (mint chocolate chip and she had pistachio) and they were extremely filling and perfect to finish the meal. Bread is fresh, service was outstanding and Dawn was extremely cordial to us, and we enjoyed her recommendations and attention to us when needed. It's not cheap, but well worth the trip and the visit. Place was just renovated 2 years back and it shows. Love the rustic inside vibe, and again, very clean. We'd definitely be back again. Wonderful!

Lovely restaurant in St. Charles. Mary Beth greeted us warmly (even though we showed up for a late dinner). Ambiance was nice and the food was great! Beautiful bar area and artwork around the restaurant. Mary Beth made our experience excellent.

This is our favorite restaurant restaurant in St.charles. We love traveling to St. Charles to see our friends at the company Christmas party each year. The food and drinks and the ambiance are great. The staff is very kind and attentive to everyone. My ex- bosses are regulars here and always have the Christmas party at this location, and we are always treated very nicely.

    Sofia Loren cocktail

Modern feel Italian restaurant located downtown St. Charles. The decor is great, casual feel and not overly loud. Drinks are great, tried the Sofia Loren and the rum punch. Momma's Meatballs as an appetizer- it's a like a whole meal in itself but so good! Pasta entrees - I asked for a modified linguine with shrimp instead of clams which they were able to do with no problem. Service was on point from the moment we walked in 10/10. Will definitely be back!!

The first time, everything was mostly great and I probably would have rated 4 stars, but this most recent time the experience and food was average. To drink, I got the clarified chai cocktail and it was good, but it tasted more like a sweet/tart cocktail than a warm spiced chai I was expecting. For food, I ordered the same thing I got last time: chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and aromatic rice. The chicken tikka masala was flavorful and creamy. Although, for the price ($25), I wish there was more chicken in it. There were only a few big chunks and some smaller ones. It does not come with rice either, which is another $4. It felt a bit overpriced for what you get. The garlic naan (forgot to get a photo) was really soft and delicious! It was definitely a comforting and satisfying meal overall, and I even had some leftovers to take home. I wish the waitress asked me about customizing the spice levels for our dishes. As someone who loves spicy, it's probably the reason why the chicken tikka masala wasn't as good as I remembered it since it wasn't spicy enough for me. The waitress we had last time asked us. The restaurant was not very crowded on a Saturday evening around 7:30pm. The service was good and the food was made quickly, so I didn't understand why our waitress kept apologizing and thanking us for our patience when we were never left waiting for anything. It felt like our presence was stressful and we had to keep reassuring her that it's okay lol.

I love the candlesticks they have lit at the tables. There's a a view of the kitchen as well. To drink, I had the Dip in the Backyard Kiddie Pool (very refreshing) and Fresa Fresca (basically a strawberry margarita and it was super refreshing and tasted like strawberry juice). For dessert, we shared the oreo carjillo. It was pretty strong to me, but it definitely tasted like Oreos and milk! To eat as an appetizer, they gave us complimentary bread and butter and we ordered the sundried tomato oil to go along with it (a must). Their bread is so soft and fresh. We also got the bone marrow (forgot to get a photo), and it was some of the best we've had!! For our entrees, we got the two pasta dishes. They called them "small plates" but it was the perfect amount of food for us with our appetizers. I had the spicy carrot rigatoni pasta and it was super fresh. I love that they cooked the pasta al dente.

The Birria egg rolls were a bit on the smaller side but made a big impression with its preparation. I've never had birria wrapped in anything as crispy as the wonton wrapper this was wrapped in. The birria was flavorful while being tender and not being too salty. The white cheddar and chihuahua cheese added a small amount of extra saltiness and a bit more fat, which matched well with the chipotle aiola. The duck poutine was incredibly flavorful, while sitting on the edge of potentially being too bold. The fries were incredibly crispy though there was quite a bit of gravy on the dish and the white cheddar cheese curds did a great job of keeping the entire dish hot throughout the meal, while adding a little bit of extra flavor. The bacon and onion added some umami though it almost made the dish a bit too salty and the duck confit added a nice protein element. Overall a little pricey, but given the more unique menu and quality of both the flavors and textures, it's worth the premium. I'm going to leave my honest review while also noting what I saw from other people -FOOD is actually really good here! And it's gotten better since they first opened. They added a lot of stuff recently. My first time there I had a wrap that was huge and really good, fries are epic. -DRINKS Their beer wall is literally local, not "fake local" with Chicago beers lol. They have a really wide range of things at the bar and cocktails were cool, but I haven't tried too many of them. -GAMEPLAY has content deals going on, huge selection of games, impressive variety for the space. -VIBE is EPICCCCC. They hit the sweet spot for being kid friendly, corporate friendly, and college frat boy friendly all at the same time. Super rare to be able to pull that off. It's laid out well and designed well for that to happen. I've seen moms work at the bar tables with a beer and lunch whole their kid goes to play games. I've been there myself with kids around and during late night hours and never once felt like I was around a bunch of children or a bunch of belligerents. Impressive. Good for LITERALLY anyone and everyone. -STAFF has been pretty helpful 10/10 times. I feel like they're all super kind which reflects on the management in my opinion. When I've had a problem or noticed someone else was a bit upset or hadn't gotten fast service on busy hours, they seemed to be willing to problem solve (I like to eavesdrop). I think they're well trained to work with customer service in mind, again has to be reflecting on management, -NO CASH! This seems to be the new norm at a lot of places, and they don't do any extra CC fees that literally every other business has. Honestly, I've seen some people that maybe had a bad experience and they could have been more understanding before reviewing, but I've been the same way. All that said, I love this little gem in St Charles and it's nice to have some variety in options out here. I want to see small businesses do well so they've got my loyalty for sure!
