This is an excellent place for friends and families alike to gather for any sports event or even just a casual night out for dinner. The food and service are excellent and at a fair price. The beverage list is extensive and leaves nothing to be desired. The GIGANTIC high definition screen puts everyone right in the action for any event. Ownership is always courteous and aims to please with a friendly hello with almost every visit. Advice on choices is well taken. My wife recommended Simple Ej's and she nailed it. The smash burgers are juicy and tasty. I added a 2nd patty. You have the option a to add a patty, an egg, or bacon. The fries are cooked in beef tallow and you can taste the difference. Nice and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Rather large seating area/bar. HUGE tv I think I heard 21'. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. We had a couple questions and she easily answered them all. The owner stopped by the table to see how things went. Decided to try again today at 3:45PM on a Saturday with our family. Front half of the restaurant (maybe 12 tables) were completely empty. We were told they were completely full and not even having a waiting list. Insane. People were upset and leaving. A month in this place still hasn't gotten their operation together. This is a fun, loud, family friendly sports bar with a menu that specializes in wings, and smash burgers but has some elevated food options as well. We walked in with a party of seven during a World Cup match but we were seated pretty quickly considering how packed it was. Our server greeted us right away and we asked for water (96 degrees outside) while we looked over the menu. The water tasted like how a dishwasher smells so we thought it was the plastic tumblers but the server said it's because it's St Charles water. Everything is ala carte except for the kids menu items that come with a choice of two sides. We had two happy kids with us. I love that they have a huge gluten free menu. The fried rice came with an egg on top and sauce on the side and my daughter ordered it with brisket which was a surprisingly good combo. I would suggest that they include the fries with the burgers. Recently opened in Spring 2026, this family friendly sports bar in located in the new Fox Haven Square in St. Charles. We had out of town guests so we went on a Thursday night. It was very crowded due to the soccer World Cup but we were seated in about 10 minutes. It was very loud and even our server Marina had a hard time hearing us to take our order. They have a Main,Gluten Free and Kids menu which was perfect for our party of 7. Everything is ala carte..even the sandwiches which was annoying except for the kids meals which come with 2 sides and a drink. I had the Chicken Tenders (12.99)and paid additional to try their Blueberry Scotch Bonnet sauce. I am so glad I did,it was amazing. My wife had the Melty Brisket Sandwich (19.99) which was very flavorful but somewhat messy and was ala carte. Other dishes we tried were the Simple Fried Rice with Brisket(22.99),a double Smash Burger (20.96)and Mac & Cheesetopia(12.99). Portions were good. We also ordered their Beef Fat Fries with BBQ rub and Simply seasoning...both were very bland. I would recommend going when there is not a major sporting event going on as it gets very loud and order the shareable plates as the sandwiches are expensive considering they are ala carte. read more

Simple EJ's just opened in St Charles and the food is great! The owners Erik and Jim are super friendly and welcoming. Everything I've tried here has been delicious too. My favorite so far has been the honey chicky sandwich, the fries, smoked brisket slider, and the skillet cookie. Their wings are also amazing and the meat comes right off the bone making them super easy to eat. Although, when I ordered the honey chicken sandwich, they forgot to put the garlic aioli on it. I couldn't remember if it was supposed to have it on it, but after checking the menu, I realize it was. It's alright though because it still tastes great without it! The mac and cheese looked great in photos, but it was a bit dry and I wish it was more creamy. The pork chop is huge and great for sharing! It comes with a sweet cherry marinade, butter beans, and brussels sprouts. The location is conveniently located right next to the movie theater I always go to, so we went here before seeing a movie and it worked out perfectly. My bf was also able to watch a bit of the Sox game, which he was happy about. The people working were really helpful in changing the channel on the TVs in front of us so he could watch it more closely. We ventured out that way for an event and because we left right after work we were so hungry when we got there that we ordered a drink and a couple appetizers. We got the pretzel and pork sliders and the Snozzberry Blueberry Yum Yum. All of which was fantastic! The sliders had a kick (spicy), but rich in flavors. There were 3 and served with onion rings which the hubby put on his slider. The pretzel was huge, I mean huge! Big enough to share with a group of people. It was served with Dijon Mustard, Cheese and a Blueberry Cream Cheese sauces and I will tell you that blueberry cream cheese sauce was the star of the show. Perfect combo with a great flavor. So I went there with a friend yesterday for the first time the waiter was really nice. She asked us what kind of drink need. I got a dietary Coke. My friend got like different types of alcohol to try and then after that, they run out good food. It was really good. I recommend going there. I've met the owner of the place. He was really nice. My daughter and I went on a Saturday afternoon. Was able to get a table right away. Benjamin was our server and was very helpful. We just ordered a few appetizers. Everything was very tasty; we enjoyed the sprouts, truffle fries, and spinach and artichoke. They have TVs so you could enjoy sports while dining. Really liked the laid-back atmosphere. Super lively atmosphere! I ordered the wings with their Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce, and they were incredible. The service was fast, and the space feels bright and open with all the big windows. There's a nice, open area right out front where the kids can run around, and it's great to see this neighborhood revitalized with new restaurants. Not vegetarian, vegan, or red meat allergy friendly. They don't have separate friers from beef tallow so everything is being fried in beef tallow. I expect a newer restaurant in today's day to have dietary accommodations. To say the veggie substitute is a falafel, that is then being fried in beef tallow is rather misleading. We were offered the option of having a salad. I tried their Mac n cheese and spinach artichoke dip. The Mac n cheese lacked flavor. The spinach artichoke dip was good though. I would return for drinks only. My husband (carnivore) got the wings. He enjoyed the restaurant and said he'd go back. He'd give it a 4. Stopped in at this newly opened restaurant for a late lunch today and we were not disappointed. The sports bar atmosphere is nice with multiple televisions, several areas of low and high top tables. We sat at a high top table and the chairs were very comfortable. The noise level wasn't bad but the restaurant was not full at that time. We smash burgers, French fries, onion rings and an order of wings with the Dr Pepper bbq sauce. We enjoyed all of it! The sautéed onions and sweet pickles with the special sauce on the smash burger was delicious! The burger bun was somewhat stale but maybe due to sitting under the hot lamps before serving. The French fries and onion rings were really good and the wings were so good but somewhat sticky! So good! We spoke with the owner, Erik, and told him how good the foods were but also my comment about the bun. He was very nice and appreciated our comments. We will visit again! read more

Visited last week and we were sat immediately, given menus, and brought water. We had to flag a busser after 20 minutes to ask for someone to come take our order. After another 5 minutes, someone finally came over and we placed our order and food came out about 10 minutes later. Pretty disappointed. Went here for the first time after hearing a lot of hype. Ordered the chicken sandwich and the regular fries. The sandwich was oddly tough and chewy. The fries tasted...weird. We stopped here after watching a movie next door. This place is so good! They have several tv's including a very large screen so perfect for game days. Even better is the food! We had appetizers and drinks. The chicken tenders were the best in the area and the spinach artichoke dip was really good! As soon as I walked in the enormous TV was the first thing I noticed, I haven't seen anything like it before. Erika our server was very nice and recommended the blueberry scotch bonnet smoked wings which were amazing. We ordered the brisket sliders and Brussel sprouts 10/10. The evening we went (6/10) the front was flooding from the rain, although the hostess said they were simply cleaning the floor. The owner stopped by and I mentioned my lukewarm impression of the food. He said he'd take the burger off. I just checked my Visa and the burger WAS NOT taken off. I was charged $52.59 (for 1 drink, 2 burgers, 1 side onion rings) in stead of $39.58 - check #8282. The best part was the owner bragging about having had 30 restaurants, which - given he looked in his 50s - wouldn't be a bragging point to me, but an admission of not having successful establishments. This is a typical sports bar, extremely loud! And that's with the open atmosphere. I imagine when the doors and windows are all closed it would be even louder. The host took his job very seriously. I suppose he is new to the restaurant business. He was cordial. Our waitress was cheerful and attentive. I ordered the chimmichurri shrimp. It is spicy!!! Which I didn't mind. But it is fire spicy, so order with caution. My husband had the honey chicken sandwich. The brioche bun is a bit fragile for this type of sandwich and falls apart with any condiments added. Perhaps a regular burger bun would be better. We ordered two gin and tonics, but honestly, the pour was slight. I couldn't even taste the gin. Thankfully their wine pour is generous. Might try again. We went (party of 4) there on opening night. We were warmly greeted at the door and promptly seated for our 6:00 PM reservation. The service was consistent, attentive and fun throughout our 2.5 hour dinner. We ordered a liquor they didn't have, so they literally sent someone next door to Jewel to buy it so that we could buy those three drinks from them...above and beyond...and smart. Nicely done. The place is LOUD, so be ready to speak louder than normal. You should treat it as a sports bar with an upgrade on traditional bar type food. It has an impressive large screen for all to enjoy and smaller screens over the bar. The ceiling is painted black to cover the electrical, HVAC ducts, joists etc., the floors are polished cement, and the entire space has partial visibility into the kitchen to watch the prep through a window. It's a fun layout with mixed type seating from high tops to regular table seating, bar stools and booths. For appetizers we ordered the "Cheesy Chips" (we added bacon) and the sprouts. The chips were very tasty in tray type presentation. They could have used more gruyere bechamel to cover more chips, but was still enjoyed by all. The sprouts - were amazing, extremely well flavored and cooked to perfection, a must have. For the main course, the "smash burgers" were not great and lacked flavor. They are currently serving their smash burgers a la carte, so unless you order one of their five (5) sides, you get a smash burger on a large white plate and that's it. It is served on a buttered brioche bun, but the meat simply lacks flavor even with the cheese, onions, pickles and their simple sauce on top. The "Mac & Cheesetopia" (we added bacon and brisket) came as a generous portion but again lacked flavor and was missing that creamier consistency and seasoning. For dessert we ordered the "Classic Skillet Cookie"...which was perfect, tasty, warm and served with a desirable presentation . . . dangerously delicious. This is going to be a great place to hang out, especially when the garage doors are open, they get their menu tweaked the way they want and they build their operational pace. Recommended. read more
