Dear Coffee Haus Owner, I'm disappointed with my recent experiences at your business, and it's especially unfortunate because I've been a customer since the days when your predecessor first started the business. I still remember seeing the old man at Costco carefully picking out the best kiwis. Those memories are part of what made Coffee Haus special to me, which is why it's disappointing to see some of these issues. I recently stopped by your South Elgin location, and I'd like to share a few concerns. First and foremost, as a business owner, I believe customers should receive the exact change they are owed. Please don't tell customers that there are no pennies and simply round the change down. If you are unable to provide exact change, the customer should not be the one losing money. At the very least, the amount should be rounded in the customer's favor. Better yet, make sure the register has the necessary change to give customers the correct amount. Second, when I place an order and am told that there is no tapioca, it's extremely frustrating. If a particular ingredient is essential to the products you advertise and serve, it seems reasonable to expect that you would have adequate inventory to meet customer demand. Finally, please address the condition of the bathroom. It was unpleasantly smelly and did not feel clean or presentable. I also noticed what appeared to be gang-related markings on the back of the bathroom door. The bathroom is part of the customer experience, and its condition can leave a lasting impression about the overall cleanliness and management of a restaurant. I'm sharing this because I have a history with Coffee Haus and genuinely want to see the business maintain the quality and reputation that made customers like me keep coming back. I hope you'll take these concerns seriously and make the necessary changes. read more

Decent coffee and drinks here, have great boba, smoothies, coffee, and even affogato. I would check this place out, heads up it sometimes can get hectic and have superrrr long waits when it's busy... I waited for my coffee for 30 mins, all the previous times I had went there was no wait time at all so that threw me off and also the reason I haven't been back but I would recommend this as a fun chill spot to chill with friends or even study, get some work done. Kind of a noisy environment but if that doesn't bother you then this is your spot! read more

If you're looking for a boba shop that serves drinks so good they might just make you forget how to spell "boba," look no further than Coffee Haus. I had the Taro Cloud drink, and let me tell you, it's like a creamy hug for your taste buds! It was perfectly sweet, and I may or may not have considered moving in just to have one every day. The girl who took my order was a total rockstar--super helpful and clearly a boba warrior in disguise. The café itself has a vibe that's so modern and aesthetic, I felt like I was in a Pinterest board come to life. Plus, it's the only coffee shop in the area that's open late. So whether you're a night owl in need of caffeine or just looking for a place to plot world domination over a cup of taro goodness, this is your spot. read more

I was expecting the Korean Bingsoo to be made with frozen condensed milk shaved to perfection and then add the topping but it was all crunchy ice with ice cream topping and other cereal toppings. The toppings were good but the crunchy ice was not my choice. The matcha tea and other Korean teas were a premix jar that you buy from Hmart with hot water. Way too sweet for me. The staff was pleasant and the ambiance is relaxing with a few games you can play with your kids. read more

Absolutely love coffee haus for the late hours. It's the perfect place to bring some friends and grab a snack/drink late at night. The place is cozy inside with fairy lights and the music is perfect for studying or chatting. They supply games to borrow while you're having a conversation and even have couches, stools, and outlets to plug in your phone or laptop. Everytime I've been to coffee haus their staff is always welcoming with a warm greeting. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom gets messy and I try to avoid it and the prices are a bit expensive. Also love the idea of having snacks here that they can make you or you can take it home. read more

Coffee house is just meh. I like their coffee boba. But for fruity or tea based options that my wife likes they're a little bit more behind compared to places in the area. Only other cons are they don't have that great of options for milk substitutes. The service is courteous just a little slow. It's typically more of a location for teenagers to hang out so it can be a little loud. Overall an average place. Better options out there. read more

Not very please this evening. Brought my boys to come enjoy this nice little place. Place two orders and gave $100 bill. They didn't have change and asked if I have something smaller. I didn't and so I have to go break the money somewhere close by and asked if they can go ahead and get the sweets ready as I go break the money while my teenagers wait there. I came back the they haven't give them the sweets. I am so disappointed with this that they inconvenient me and let the boys waiting. Turns out they've made the bing soo and juts kept it in the fridge. This really upsets me. While we start eating the bing soo. There's hair inside! This is not what I want to do on a review but I just can't let my review be heard. read more

Great dessert place... love that they have late night hours... good place to grab some sweets after dinner .

This is a good place for milk tea and fruit smoothies in South Elgin. I've been here many times and it's my family's go-to place for milk tea and fruit smoothies as it's close to us. Ambiance: cozy and spacious where people can study or do some work, although it can be noisy at times with either other patrons talking out loud or the blenders/machines going on in the background. Decor is nice and modern so it's a nice place to hang out with others. Service: employees are friendly, and they serve drinks fairly fast unless they're pretty busy - no bad experiences so far. Drinks: I'm mostly a fruit tea/smoothie drinker, and this place has good fruit smoothies. They mostly use real fruit, which is a big plus for me as some other places primarily use powder flavoring instead. My go-to drink is their bubble smoothie where you can choose up to 2 fruits to blend (adding more than 2 is additional cost), and my favorite is watermelon and mango - very refreshing especially on a hot day. My recent experience I ordered Mango Lychee included lychee flavoring ( I guess they didn't have any of the actual fruit then), which i understand if the case, but combined with mango it was not great tasting compared to other times I ordered. My siblings ordered Taro Milk Tea and Mango Strawberry, which they enjoyed. Overall, it's a great place to try if you're in the South Elgin area if you're in the mood for a refreshing drink or want to try some of their desserts as price, value, quality, and drink sizes are good for what they're worth. read more

I have been coming to this location since 2019. It has changed drastically. They've changed their menu and that's about it. The cleanliness is horrible with nut stains and dirt on the sofas. The boba has also changed, they used to be tasty and soft but often they are just hard and taste like dish soap. The staff is just teens that don't know how to work and do not smile either. You are better off going to candy cloud next door, they have way better drinks read more

Been coming to coffee haus for years. This location and Schaumburg but went to SE location last night. I always get the bing soo but this time decided on a taro strawberry drink which was basically just a taro slush. Not bad but my friend got a lavender lemonade which was way too sweet and warm to drink. Not good. Bathrooms and sofas were dirtyyy. That's another thing. To me, the cleanliness of the bathrooms/etc reflects the kitchen. Not a good look. read more

The tapioca here is delicious, and the smoothies are great with lots of options to choose from. The ice cream with toppings is just average, but the waffle is a must-try--it's absolutely worth it! read more

Very cute ambiance, nice that now they can cook ramen for you and have certain sauces on the side (though was dry from not allowing any water to be left). Employee at 3-ish 10/4 was very nice. What just sucks is that the bathroom is SO GROSS. Smells like sewage/the ocean, that I had to hold my breath. Please hire once a week or a cleaning crew or something. I'd even feel bad for one nice employee that would have to clean it. Make it a group effort or something. I was embarrassed my friend had to experience that when I suggested this place. Besides that I appreciate the nice employees. read more

The product is amazing. Had the chocolate mint bubble tea But we arrived at 12:45 and the front door was locked with 2 girls just joking around in the back. People were waiting outside And with them opening at 11am we were only ticket 3. I'm not sure if this was blatant because they didn't want to work or if it truly was an accident but if I were the owner I'd be livid. read more

Coffee Haus - a table and chairs in a coffee shop - Bubble Tea Near Me - South Elgin, Illinois

Generally speaking, I'm not a smoothie person. I tend to go for milk or fruit teas when I'm out and about. I knew Coffee Haus was on the way the way home and after a long day out at a local park, I and my family were in need of some refreshment to cool down. Since I wasn't feeling very 'milk tea' that day, I opted for a Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie. I originally had wanted to get a fruit tea, but I didn't see the options I usually see at other boba shops, so a Smoothie seemed like the next best thing. And it really was good! The consistency of a smoothie usually doesn't do much for me, but this one was really smooth and tasted delicious. The Strawberry/Kiwi mix was perfect and the boba was nice and soft. One quick note, while this is called Coffee Haus, there are a lot more tea/smoothie options than coffee. So, if you're looking solely for coffee choices, this may not be the place for you. This is one of two locations, the other being Schaumburg. The Schaumburg location was small, a bit dark and much harder to get into driving-wise, so I 100% prefer this location. While Covid eliminated the dine in option, there was plenty of space for tables and chairs for people to sit in once the restrictions are eventually lifted. The place had a fun vibe and was a lot better, in my opinion, than the Schaumburg one. It's worth a look and a taste! read more

I only recently discovered bubble tea and this place certainly did not disappoint. I ordered the white mocha with tapioca and it was amazing...expensive but very filling. We also ordered a mango bing soo bowl which was HUGE! Service is quick and friendly! As per social distancing, there is no indoor seating but there are a few chairs outside. Masks are also required to enter. read more

My kids love the boba here! They have a ton of flavors and the service is always great.

We drove past this the other day and decided to stop by tonight and check this location out. We are fairly regulars at the Schaumburg location. This location is more lively, hip and roomier than the other. We ordered two bingsoo (bean and coffee) as well as chocolate ice cream with mochi for the four year old with us. As for the service, no complaints as usual. read more

I've been going to their Schaumburg location since I was 12 (currently 23). I was so happy they opened up nearby my house and at the old frozen yogurt place I used to work at too! I love getting the smoothies since their made with fresh fruit and their green tea ice cream and Belgium waffle. I hate having desserts cause they're so heavy or I can never finish them, but this...this is so, so good! My only quip is I would like them to transition to more sustainable cups/lids (like the plastic sheet lids that are heated on) Like other bbt places but I understand that might not be good since it's a local cafe. Otherwise, great cafe! read more

Coffee Haus - Green Tea Ice Cream w/ Belgium Waffle - Bubble Tea Near Me - South Elgin, Illinois

My favorite suburban spot for bubble tea-- I used to go to their Schaumburg location, and I was elated when they opened up something closer to Elgin. They offer their drinks blended or over ice, and they have vegan/non-dairy milk options (I always get almond milk) which I really appreciate. The flavor I most often gravitate towards is their taro smoothie, but I've tried quite a lot of options, and each one has been incredibly good. I've moved out of IL and find myself searching for somewhere as good as Coffee Haus. It's one of my top priorities for visiting whenever I'm back in the area. read more

I've been going to their Schaumburg location for yearz so I was excited to hear from family that they opened a new location in South Elgin :D Happy to say that their haus bingsoo is still delicious and loaded with fresh fruits. If you've never tried bingsoo, it's a Korean shaved ice dessert with different toppings. The texture of Coffee Haus's is more traditional in that it isn't as finely shaven as some other Korean cafes' bingsoo (Handsome Bakery and Cafe Koko have snowy textures), but it reminds me of the bingsoos my mom would make us as kiddos :) Besides bingsoos, they have bubble teas, frappes, coffee, teas, liege waffles, and ice cream. Friendly service. Nice, clean interior. Highly recommend! read more

Super excited and glad that they opened up a second location conveniently in South Elgin. Been going to the Schaumburg location for years. Came to this location for the first time and as expected, a little busy but not too bad considering it is a Sunday and went around 4pm. There was a small line but moving effectively. This location is definitely a lot more aesthetically pleasing and the design is pretty gorgeous with reclaimed wood, bricks, etc. The only downfalls I would say is that the majority of the seating isn't cushioned and doesn't have that laid back lounge feel compared to the original location but still plenty of seating. Also, it's attached to the same complex as Buffalo Wild Wings so although parking is free, it is a tight squeeze and can be a headache to find a find an open space if it's a busy time. Taste wise, exactly the same. Still super delicious and just so smoothe to drink. My favorites are green tea and Thai tea. If you've been to Coffeehaus before, you know what I mean by that smooth goodness. If you're new, then it basically means that it's like a creamy authentic taste rather than that chalky, powdery cheap taste a lot of other boba places tend to be be. Bingsoo is bomb too! Also, bonus. The bathroom is just your regularly small one toilet bathroom, but there is a baby changing station which I'm grateful for! Most small places don't offer that so glad they did. Thanks! read more

Looove this place. Great place to hang out and have dessert or drinks. They have jelly options in addition to tapioca for the cold drinks. Had the waffle with green tea ice cream. Waffle was warm and crisp. Our group also ordered Bingsoo, ice cream, and milk tea--all very good. Prices are very reasonable. The environment is very cute and clean. Only downside to this location is limited parking so be prepared for a short walk. read more

Coffee house allowed a group of teenagers bring outside food and create loud ruckus, and leaving a mess. One of my friends went up to let who ever was at the register and they just ignored her. A much nicer and larger location than that of the original Coffee Haus in Schaumburg. CH has always been my go-to for bubble tea and I've started to get irritated at how packed it continues to be every single time I visit, being that I first started going there (Schaumburg) when it was low-key enough that you could actually sit down and get some studying done. These days, it's a watering hole for teenagers who think it's acceptable to treat the place like it's their own living room. So although the Elgin location is a bit further away from me, I'm happy to make the commute if it means dodging the crowds of loud tweens who stay to socialize for hours on end, hogging every table while they're at it. read more
