This place is so cute and aesthetic I've been wanting to try it for a while now and I finally had that chance! When I came in I was the only one in the restaurant so of course the service was pretty fast. I ordered the hot Cheeto K-dog with solely mozzarella as my filling. I thought it was pretty darn good! The cheese was super gooey and I thought the hot Cheetos just pulled everything together. I also ordered the strawberry matcha. It was pretty good, I did get a good taste of the strawberry. However, I think next time I'll order a smoothie- I think that would be more up my alley. I also bought 4 donuts to take home. I got the tiramisu, the ube, the biscoff cheesecake - which actually does taste like a cheese cake, and of course I got their most popular donut the strawberry milk cream. I was able to take a nibble out of each donut and I must say the donuts were delicious- the cream cheese filling is fantastic. My favorite flavors were the Biscoff and the strawberry. The shop is so cute and niche, there's a good amount of seating- I can definitely see myself coming here from time to time. The donuts definitely live up to their reputation!
I've had donuts from here once before my visit to the actual store. My friend got me the ube donut which made me fall in love with this place. This place is an hour away from but I was in the area so of course I decided to make a pit stop. I usually don't like cream-filled donuts but the ones from here are so delicious. I don't know what they do differently. Their flavors are so fun so I got a half dozen. I also got a strawberry matcha cause why not. Everything about the store is so cute, inviting, and cozy. Its located in a plaza so you don't have to worry about parking. They close pretty late too so its a nice place to hangout or study. It's very clean inside and very decorative.
All positives through and through. I can only say good things about this cafe. The decor is very cute and the cleanliness is well maintained. The staff is very friendly and very easy to talk to. The donuts and the food wasn't too sweet, which is good. We could tell that each donut took time to carefully make and dress. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to sit and relax or have a quick breakfast bite.
Had a craving for something sweet and found this place on Google with great reviews. I bought 1 of each donut and they were all delicious! I love that the donuts are made fresh every day. They are so soft and tasty! My favorite donut is the ube and everyone in my group agreed. We also got the ube tea and thai tea with tapioca. The ube tea also our fave. Customer service was great and everyone was very friendly. Definitely coming back to try everything else.
This place in St. Charles was so cute all on the inside, definitely in a Sanrio sort of way. The inside was clean and quiet. I decided to go with vanilla, strawberry, and ube to take home. I ate them the next day and these donuts are best when eaten immediately. The cream and dough don't hold up well over a short period of time. All my fault but they were still good. There are not the traditional donuts and are filled with plenty of cream. The cream is what makes these donuts and I found it to be light, milky, and sweet. The brioche dough was soft and pillowy. The ube was my favorite. The flavor is amazing in its own sort of purple way. This is the place to go especially if you are looking for something different.
Probably my favorite pastries as they are delightful, fluffy donuts with whipped filling of your choice. They have a variety of flavors from biscoff cheesecake, tiramisu, cookies n crème, raspberry cheesecake, choco crunch, madagascar vanilla, pumpkin cheesecake(seasonal) to my favorites ube & strawberry. The strawberry reminds me of pazckis by its looks & is adorned with slices of strawberries at the opening. They also have a popular cream cheese garlic donut but I don't prefer it cuz Sugar & Garlic don't mix in my world. Anywho, you can easily choose a dozen but choose wisely, as they are $5 a pop. They also offer coffee/tea/boba options. Definitely give them a try..just save some for me!
Great addition to the St. Charles area! The inside of the shop is adorable, and the staff was super kind and patient despite a long line. The donuts are fantastic--very fresh, not too heavy, and filled to perfection. I took off one star only because they can sell out of popular flavors quickly due to high demand, so you have to time your visit right! Highly recommend."
A fun experience! We went for dessert after dinner I was worried the donuts would be stale in the evening, but they weren't. They tasted and felt very fresh. We tried the biscoff cheesecake and the tiramisu donuts and both were devine! The service was fine, not very polite, no one said hi to us. But it wasn't bad either.
We usually look forward to going to dear donuts but today I found a rock in a bite that I took and It was literally a rock!
all the donuts we tried were amazing! the ube actually tastes like ube (which is rare). there is a loooot of filling (not complaining). i loved all three but my favorite was the matcha. the yuzu cheesecake was great too - the yuzu flavor was strong. the donuts were sitting out for a few hours after it was picked up and they still tasted very fresh! would visit more often if the location was closer! come to the nw burbs please :)
I've been meaning to come to dear donuts as long as they opened! I finally got my chance to pop in, and the store is so cute and was so busy. I'm glad they're getting the recognition they deserve, the food is so delicious. They also have Korean corn dogs, with a self serve sauce station. Everything was a knock out, they exceeded my expectations.
I've been wanting to go to Dear Donuts for months, but it's a long drive. Thankfully we were able to pair it with other activities in St Charles and Geneva. There's ample parking in this plaza, and it's pretty spacious inside Dear Donuts. We ordered Pina Colada, Ube, and Chocolate Crunch Donuts. We also got a garlic cream cheese donut (?), but haven't tried it as of this review. In short, these Donuts were amazing! Soft and fluffy, and delicious cream inside. These are gourmet donuts, so kind of expensive, but much nicer than grocery store donuts. Service was good.
First time stopping in Dear Donuts and was pleasantly surprised! A cute sit down spot for a drink and some unique donuts. I enjoyed their garlic parmesan donut which was reminded me of a garlic parm bagel but softer...delicious. Will note i did see a limited amount of donuts which were pretty heavily stuffed. They also sell some custom corndogs along with cute trinkets. Love their creative wall of drawings. During my visit i did notice this spot was bustling with people constantly coming in and out.

This is cute coffee shop, I had a really great experience at Dear Donuts! The donuts were fresh and delicious, and the drinks were really good too. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was nice and welcoming. Everything was great overall, from the food to the service. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out if you're craving something sweet. Definitely a spot I'd come back to! read more
Ube donut and ube milk tea with tapioca made with housemade syrup) are both amazing, yuza cheesecake was alright, and I wasn't a big fan of the dulce de leche filling. The dough of the donut isn't the softest I've had, but the ube filling makes up for it. The texture of the tapioca is on point it made me want to order double serving next time. The price is also very reasonable. I came around noon on Christmas Eve, and it was busy. There seems to be several pick-up donut orders. There is only one person taking order, boxing donuts and making drinks in the front, and another making hotdogs in the back. We waited for at least 15 minutes to order, and another 5-10 minutes to get my drink. read more

One of my favorite donut spots in the suburbs. I usually am not a fan of filled donuts, but these I will stop by for when I'm in the area. They are so fresh and the filling is perfect. The filling is flavorful and compliments the donut. I've had the ube and choco crunch. I don't think you can really go wrong with any of them. They also offer Korean corn dogs and drinks, but I didn't get any this time around. I was surprised that there were a good amount of donuts left in the afternoon. It wasn't too busy when I got there a little after noon. The staff was nice and friendly. Overall a good experience. read more

Tasty, fresh donuts and not so sweet . I liked their variety of donuts flavors. It sure is freshly made. Service was nice. They were patient with us since it's our first time to visit and there was a long line behind us. Ambiance was nice and welcoming. The vibe was good. I will surely be back when Iam in Chicago. read more

This was my first visit here. the inside was fine. The service was OK. the two drinks we got were really delicious. I definitely will come back to try the food because it looks really good and to try more drinks. read more
I was actually very disappointed as we walked to the store because garbage bin outside the store was overflowing. Garage spilled out everywhere. No one had the time to pick up the garbage and inside the restaurant the tables were all dirty. I was skeptical even eating here. It left me wondering how cleanly the workers are when they prepare the food. They ran out of their signature donuts and we came around 2:30 in the afternoon, so we tried the K Corn Dog, cream cheese garlic donut and the choco crisp croissant. We also got the pandan soft serve. Nothing special about anything we ordered. We did enjoy the croissant. Service was poor as well. The person taking my order was actually rude and not very friendly. Unfortunately this experience wouldn't make me want to return to even try their donuts. read more
The donuts are generously sized and have a lovely, soft, moist texture with delightful flavors. The must-try flavors are ube, Strawberry, Jalapeño Cheese, and Salted Caramel. It's great that some flavors are seasonal, as they allow us to try new ones as each season passes. Have the donuts to go, and you'll have a nice little box--also perfect for gifting! While the Strawberry Matcha Boba was okay, the Hot Matcha Latte and Ube Boba, authentic Korean Hotdogs, are worth trying as well. The ambiance is cheerful, especially for young people, and it's an excellent place for them to hang out, study, engage in crafting activities, and play board games. read more

I represent myself and my parents, husband, and two young daughters when I loudly proclaim - Dear Donuts is worth the hype, drive, and time! Dear Donuts is about 45 minutes away from our house. Several reviews have indicated they sell out quick so I was adamant in leaving the house early and getting my hands on two boxes of donuts - one for us and the other for my cousin. We arrived around 8:30 AM on a Saturday and there was a short line. Nonetheless, we were able to get all six flavors in two boxes: 1) Madagascar vanilla 2) Choco crunch 3) Strawberry milk cream 4) Ube 5) Peach yogurt 6) Biscoff cheesecake My family and I enjoyed a few donuts fresh in the store but saved a few to take home. For those who plan to take donuts to go, especially on a hot summer day, I would highly suggest that you prepare ahead of time and bring a cooler bag with dry ice. Some may say $4.50 for a doughnut is outrageously expensive. However, these Korean brioche cream doughnut, a rare find in the Midwest, are a made-from-scratch delicacy that have gone through multiple proofing stages to achieve the extra soft texture. Each doughnut is filled with a light, hand-whipped cream. My parents are generally indifferent about doughnuts but it's now been two months since our last visit and they still have yet to stop raving about them. In fact, they've already recommended it to several of our friends and neighbors. That means a lot from a traditional Asian family in which compliments are extremely rare! We will definitely return! read more
I came here on a Sunday around 11:20 am. It took an hour before we walked out of the door with donuts, so just be aware you'll be waiting for a while if you come on the weekend. Not sure if this place has gotten more popular but there was a line out of the door for this donut place. The donuts were good, about $5 each. We got 6 donuts: tiramisu, Madagascar vanilla, ube, cookies and cream, blueberry lemon cheesecake, and choco. My favorites were the ube and vanilla donut. The donuts were incredibly soft and pillowy from the brioche dough. And the custard was filled with flavor, light and creamy. This place also serves Korean corn dogs, boba, soft serve and coffee drinks. There's plenty of parking around the strip mall area. Come give it a try! read more
Decided to try Dear Donuts and can definitely say that the donuts are worth the hype! We got the biscoff cheesecake and the strawberry cream. The biscoff cheesecake tasted more like cheesecake than biscoff, but it was still delicious. The strawberry cream was bright and the strawberries were fresh. Both donuts were soft and pillowy with a generous amount of filling. The filling was not too sweet and was light and creamy. We also got an iced matcha and honey lavender latte but didn't feel that the drinks were up to par with the donuts. Next time we'd skip this and try a corn dog instead. We came exactly at opening and did not have to wait in line. However, as we were waiting for our drinks, a line started forming and went out the door. Definitely come early or order online (for weekends) if you're able to. read more
This has to be one of my favorite donut shops for specialty donuts! These brioche donuts are so pillowy and soft. The donuts are all filled with a light and airy cream. There are many flavors to choose from and they seem to change from month to month. When I came, I got the biscoff cheesecake, choco crunch, ube, and strawberry milk donuts. It's hard to pick a favorite because they were all so good. But, I think the strawberry milk was my favorite. It was filled with whipped cream and fresh strawberry pieces. If Dear Donuts wasn't so far away, I would definitely come more often. It is a bit pricey, but worth it for a special treat. Plus they have great bubble tea as well to go along with the donuts. I did notice they have some fun soft serve flavors as well - will have to try next time! read more
Nice place, good service, and different donuts. Tried donuts on the weekend, which might not be wise. Highly recommend order online. I could not order online on Sat morning for same day pick-up, so plan it well. Tried 2 flavors and will try more in the next visit. They change flavors monthly while some might be good for all time. All donuts have the same fluffy texture, just filling changes. Ube - 5/5 - Not super sweet, good flavourful Choco crunch - 3.5/5 - Sweet for my taste read more

Is the Dear Donuts hype worth it!? I've seen this business all over my tiktok and instagram fyp. My partner and I waited one hour in line to try the infamous brioche donuts! The line went slower than expected but it's nice to see that they are staying true to quality with the high demand. We got the Ube and Banana Pudding (Sunday special only) donuts. For 10:30am on a Sunday, the only donut they had sold out of was the tiramisu. I HIGHLY recommend ordering 24 hours in advance with a pick up time to beat the line. Now for the donuts. The Ube came with a powdered outside and classic ube filling inside. The ube filling was not overly sweet but we didn't love the powdered outside. The Banana Pudding donut had a sugary outside which we liked more but the banana filling was dense. Not every bite will be a filling bite. The donuts were good: soft and fresh but didn't live up to the hype surrounding Dear Donuts and wait. As always, we were happy to have tried these and be apart of the trend! read more

So glad I found this spot to get some work done! Was in the area for work and found this spot on yelp so decided to check it out. There's ample parking since it's shared with other businesses, but be warned that Google maps might lead you to the wrong side of the building. I got a donut and regular boba tea. Can't remember if they offered sweetness adjustments for the boba or not. It was pretty standard and leaned a little sweeter than my liking, but it did hit the spot for me that morning. The donut was also pretty sweet in my opinion, but I expected that. Only mentioning this because another review said it wasn't too sweet hahaha. The donut is filled to the brim too. They slightly err on the pricer side, but that's to be expected with inflation. Nice big menu, plenty of seating, and cute decor. read more
This is a very cute and clean shop. The staff was very friendly and nice. There are plenty of tables and chairs for people to sit and relax. They also sell cute plushie dolls by the counter. We got three donuts. It was ube, black sesame, and pumpkin cheesecake. The donuts were very good. They are soft and not too sweet even though there is filling inside. We also ordered ube bubble tea with rainbow popping boba and their milk tea with rainbow popping boba. My milk tea was ok nothing extraordinary. I will definitely come back to try their other flavor donuts. Probably have to get there earlier because when we were there, some flavors were already sold out. read more

I love stopping by here to pick up some donuts after my errands in the area. The place is super cute too. There's space to work/study too. The donuts itself are soft and fluffy. The cream filling is not too sweet either. One donut is really filling cause it's pretty big. All the flavors are pretty good too. I also got a strawberry matcha and it was really good too! I wish they had non-dairy milk options though. read more
Very cute Korean-style donut shop with a unique variety of pastry and drink offerings. I feel like people who are ragging on Dear Donuts based on the price point are being unfair. These are very well made brioche donuts and pastries. This review is from a visit in November. I had the Madagascar vanilla and the pumpkin cheesecake and both were perfectly fluffy and delicious. I also appreciated that they weren't overly sweet and that the flavorings came through really well. I particularly enjoyed the vanilla custard and was also surprised that the donuts held up really well. They advise you to eat them as soon as you can as they can become soggy if not eaten quickly but I ate half of both and saved the other halves in the fridge and they still tasted good later in the day and even into the next day. The staff was very friendly and although it's in a strip mall they have done a good job of giving the space a cozy cafe feel. read more

Dear Donuts offers a wide selection of snacks and drinks. As the name suggests, the shop has a variety of unique donuts, boba, coffee, and korean corn dogs. Despite the high demand of customers, the employees serve the snacks and drinks rather immediately. The overall atmosphere is modern, chill, and bustling with people. Highly recommend trying any of the boba teas or doughnuts! read more
This is a new boba tea place. Service was impeccable. Place was clean. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Hours are more extended than most of the boba tea shops in the west suburbs especially on week days. We tried 3 of the donuts: ube, black sesame, and pumpkin cheesecake. Out of the 3, i would say the pumpkin cheesecake had the most sapid, prominent flavor. Very delicious. Ube was good but the flavor wasn't as strong as pumpkin or black sesame. Ube bubble tea with rainbow popping boba was tasty. We tried the sweet doritos k dog. I took off a star because I felt like the mark was missed. I did not get much of the dorito taste while eating the k dog, aside from the crushed chips for the topping. I would come back for the donuts. read more
The service was amazing, the workers are so sweet and greet you when you walk in and leave. The interior design is so cute and cozy vibe. If I lived closer, I would definitely come here as my study spot. Now let's get into the good stuff. The food. Donuts were amazing. Remember these aren't American typical donuts. This is Korean donuts that are airy fluffy and not too sweet. Don't be expecting a sweetness of sugar. The Korean corn dogs were delicious as usual, can ever go wrong with them. Definitely recommend coming here and trying out their menu especially the donuts. read more

The vibes are so cute! It's a great place to hang out with friends or a coffee date. The donuts are pretty big and can be too much for one person so I recommend sharing. I like that they're not overly sweet but they do have a lot of cream inside, specially the strawberry and Ube. My favorite was cookies & cream, but they're all worth trying. But definitely get the garlic cream cheese if you want something savory. Dole whip tasted more on the tangy side than sweet. The Korean corn dog was crunchy and piping hot on the first bite. Overall worth checking out if you're looking for sweet and savory options. read more
