I came on a Saturday morning to fuel some Geneva Commons shopping and it was the perfect start to my day. There is plenty of close parking and lots of seating options inside. I decided to try something different from my normal brunch order and ended up with the choose two special. I had half of the superfood kale salad and a cup of the hearty vegetable soup which happened to be the soup of the day. Both were very wholesome and delicious. The salad had a good mix of sweet and savory toppings and I really liked having the opportunity to try two smaller dishes. Service was great! Environment is very bright and clean! The food was delicious. We ordered the Million Dollar Bacon side which has brown sugar, cayenne, black pepper with maple syrup drizzled over the top. Wow, cool combo. Additionally I had the Monterey Club sandwich with cheddar broccoli soup, very tasty!! My son had a Belgium waffle with a side of bacon. See pics, you will see how delectable our meal was. First impressions are everything. I ordered the traditional and it took a long time and then the eggs were severely over cooked (I ordered medium) and the yolks were hard, the whites were crispy. The restaurant has completely transformed from when it was a dark Irish Pub place. It is light and bright with a huge amount of seating. I was surprised how empty it was on a Saturday morning. It did get busier by the time we left so maybe they weren't overstaffed. I counted at least ten servers standing around chatting. The bathroom could have been cleaner. Food was good and exactly as ordered. I started with a fresh green juice called Kale Tonic and it was really refreshing. I also had the BLT Benedict but subbed gluten free toast for the ciabatta it is usually served on. Someone other than our server brought out the food (pet peeve) so I had to ask her if it was gluten free bread (better safe than sorry). My husband had Biscuits and Gravy with eggs and potatoes. He said it was good but nothing special. He was grumpy because the waitress brought the check while he was still eating and he had to stop to explain he had a birthday coupon so she had to see it and re-figure the bill (pet peeve). Went on a Saturday morning to redeem a birthday BOGO offer. The Geneva Illinois location is huge. There were more staff than there were customers which was surprising for a Saturday morning. They have their regular menu items as well as Seasonal Specials plus a juice bar and iced coffee bar. Unfortunately drink prices were not listed on their menu. Service is very fast...almost too fast since they were not crowded. My wife had the Kale Tonic Fresh Juice which she said was very tasty .Since she is Gluten Free she had the BLT Benedict on gluten free bread for no additional charge. It comes with fresh greens. I had the Biscuits and Gravy with eggs and seasoned potatoes. Very good..nothing special about this dish but still satisfying. We received our check as we were halfway thru our meal which was surprising and it seemed the staff was more interested in taking amongst themselves than the customers. Stopped by this spot after hearing there was over an hour wait at Buttermilk and 45 minutes at Nosh in Geneva--so getting seated right away here was a big plus. The space felt welcoming and much brighter than the previous restaurant that occupied it. The eggs I ordered were solid, but a few things fell short: the orange juice wasn't freshly squeezed, the coffee didn't quite hit the mark, and the pancakes, while fluffy, lacked the depth of flavor you'd hope for. food is always decent here. parking a little rough, tight spots but there's a bunch at least around the side too. one big open room, some interesting south of the border menu items and your normal american fare. i went with the french toast this time. it was pretty good....the potatoes are so so, some just are too big and then cooked in the middle enough, cubed. bacon is alright...it's pretty hit or miss, but if u are over there and wanna give it a try i'd say do it. but definitely not that big of portions for what u pay and nothing really special about the atmosphere. service is good, i like that leave a pot of coffee on the table. i like the plates too. read more

Tried placing a pickup order and it wasn't working online, said order unavailable. Tried calling and the phone rang for 5 minutes, tried again and same thing, no answer. Thought maybe they were busy but online it said to eat in it was a 5 minute wait. But then drove by to go in and they were close, 9am on a Saturday!! Online said still open. First Watch was a restaurant that my wife and I enjoyed in Orlando Florida. few years ago. Was happy to see that they expanded to near our house in Illinois. The location is very easy to find and plenty of parking. The inside is very spacious. After a snowstorm hit after working my graveyard shift, I decided to bring some food back to my family. We did order the food to go. However, the smell while driving home was both amazing and torturous. I wanted to pull over and start eating many times. I ordered the Chickichanga, which is a spicy chicken burrito. I was very impressed that they made a burrito taste fresh and healthy-ish. I ordered a side of potatoes which were seasoned and cooked perfectly, and even had some crispy bits after a 20-minute drive. When I got home, I wanted it a little spicer so I did add some sriracha. Otherwise, it was a delicious and filling meal. My wife ordered the Brooklyn Breakfast sandwich with a side of fresh fruit. She had no complaints and loved the fresh fruit. Overall, the service from what I experienced was great. The location was clean and spacious. There were not a lot of people eating on a Saturday morning but this could also be related to the weather (IE: A recent snowstorm and negative-degree weather). The price was a little high. The menu seemed a little small from what I can briefly recall from years ago, but it could be due to my bad memory. Overall, I am a fan and will happily return. read more

I returned to try again. Very Pleased. I ordered the Gingerbread donut holes to share...Amazing. The donuts are seasonal so get while you can. I had the Breakfast Tacos which have a side of black beans which I layered over chicken tacos.They were really good . My Mother ordered a soup and salad combination for only 10.99. The vegetable soup was hearty and the salad very generous. I had heard great things about First Watch from family members who had gone to a Denver location. Unfortunately, the Geneva, IL location has a LOT of room for improvement in literally every area. Let's start with the Food. First Watch has a menu that is verbally appealing with some creative choices that should have been good. I had the Classic Benedict. My husband had the Chile Chorizo Omelet. The couple with whom we were dining had the Avocado Toast and the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. The food arrived cold. The portion sizes here are small, and the Classic Benedict is a pile of shaved ham with poached eggs and an overly-lemony Hollandaise sauce on it. The Chile Chorizo Omelet is small, with almost no chorizo in it. The coffee is not noteworthy. Cold food is never good, so it is possible that these choices would have been better had the food been served hot. Let's talk about service. First Watch has an online waitlist that was not functioning properly on the day we came. The website said there was no wait, but once you clicked on the waitlist, there was an hour and a half wait. We used the waitlist and were seated promptly when we arrived. However, we asked for the booth and got a lecture from the hostess that if you want a booth, that request must be made at the time of your reservation because the booths are reserved in advance. (First Watch does not take reservations, so it is unclear what she was even talking about.) She did seat us in a booth, but made no effort to hide her dismay at the request. It took 28 minutes for the food to arrive. It took 20 minutes to get cream after we had been given coffee. We had to request water and that also took 20 minutes to get. When the food did arrive, one person's entree was not brought out until 10 full minutes after everyone else's food had been brought. First Watch needs to train their staff and they get an F from us in the service department for this visit. The ladies' room was in total chaos. There were loose rolls of toilet paper rolling across the floor and the ones that had been picked up were stacked on top of the wall holders with several feet of TP unraveled and all over the place. Staffing is an issue here. Training is an issue here. The food was very subpar and not served hot. First Watch has a lot of room for improvement before it will be competitive with the MANY other great breakfast and lunch places in the St. Charles and Geneva area. read more

Came here for the first and likely only time. The food came out cold, barely even warm. We asked that it be taken back which they did no problem, and handed us back the food that was still barely warm. The pancakes and french toast were pretty mediocre, although the bacon and potatoes were good. Service was good and they offered a gift card to make up for the mistakes. But the service was the worst. He came to the table asking if we wanted coffee. We both said no and it must have made him mad that we ordered something other than coffee. He was rude and took forever to bring drinks. He didn't want to take our orders. I never got a refill on my drink and he intentionally neglected the sugar free syrup that my wife asked for. Someone else had to bring it. He was at the table next to us several times but apparently he didn't like us because we ordered drinks other than coffee. Horrible service and mediocre service. First, I've been wanting to try this place because my family LOVES going out for b'fast. I've got 2 daughters who have severe gluten allergies. I called 4 times in 15min to ask if they had gluten-free options. I'm disappointed about my experience here. The following are the good things that I have to say about this place: the staff is very nice and approachable, and I did not feel too rush. There is enough seating, and it was not too busy, when I went. The location is really cute and the seating gave a great vibe, a modern diner is the best way to say it. However, I can not say the same thing about the food. I ordered the Avocado Toast, and not only was the bread really just okay, the avocado had little to no flavor, and the eggs came out cold. Right when I walked in I was instantly attracted by the lighting in this establishment, it was a mix between natural and fluorescent lighting, and the guitar strumming of John Mayer that played throughout the entire breakfast over the speakers. Along with that, I also couldn't help but notice how much space there was. Big walkways with much room for walkers and such. The service was dull, the waitress seemed almost annoyed to take our order by her tone and lack of eye contact. Although on another note, our drinks and food came out hastily. Our orders were correct and the presentation was great. I got the seasonal cinnamon chip pancakes and my shorday got the bacado omelet. The pancakes felt organic and filling, on the contrast, the omelet was very bland and runny. We paid through a QR code which was very convenient.
