All of the food that was on the tables we walked past looked fresh and really yummy. We asked for a paper menu so we could take our time selecting, we were a little disappointed that the prices listed in the menu were very out of date (almost by 40%.) Kind of a low key, old school Mom and Pop type restaurant with a wide variety of standard fast food but favoring Greek specials and doing them really well; great, overstuffed gyros, fresh Greek salad and excellent Avgolemono Soup. It's hard to go by online ratings as there's always someone with a bad Door Dash or Grub Hub delivery story or someone who wasn't smiled at enough, but thankfully there are enough happy people who are kind enough to share their experiences so you can give a place like this a try and decide for yourself. We stoped by Munchie P's today for the first time and were very happy with the old school service and vibe. The staff was friendly and everything was very clean and organized. Our order was cooked from scratch and took about 15 mins from point to point. The menu is old school Chicago + Greek with a mix of everything form dogs to souvlaki. We ordered 6 different items and were very happy with the taste and presentation. The only factor keeping this from being a 5 star review was we felt the food was slightly over salted. *** note, if you make good food it needs very little salt, this was good food and did not need to be salted this heavy. We decided to hit a local favorite Munchie P's for lunch and it was a great way to spend a quick afternoon to catch up with some old friends. As soon as we arrived the service was very friendly and the place was tidy as well. We were shocked of how inexpensive the food was considering the quantity. Munchie P's gives you an old school diner vibe with decent music playing in the background, it added a good feeling while we were enjoying our meal. I loved going here because the food is always great and it's fun. The employees are hard working and handle a high volume of orders. I don't like the way I've been treated by one of the employees and I was a good customer . I work in service and always leave tip, but I can't tip someone that doesn't treat me well. The restaurant gives a great vibe, but for the employees a very large part of service is smiling and making your customers feel welcome and happy. In my never ending quest to review hot dog stands I received a tip some time ago, informing me that a place called Munchie P's in Geneva had been passed over. I soon bookmarked the location, put the address into my GPS and headed there only to discover that they were closed on Sundays (though nothing was written on the window to tell me this). Less than a week later I returned and on this visit they were open. Munchie P's is quite a bit cleaner and newer looking than most Chicago style hot dog, gyro, burger stands. The tables are clean, the seats and chairs look new, and with large windows all around it's bright on the inside (at least during the day time). There's quite a few tables set up on the inside to sit and eat. Overall, the inside of this establishment is clean if not a little on the sterile side. In stopping by I set out with one primary goal, to try and review their hot dog. I ordered my hot dog and within a few minutes it was ready. I received a skinless dog on a regular non-poppy seed bun. One of the first things I noticed was that the toppings were applied a bit sloppily.The pickle was thick and not quite as long as the sausage itself. There were two thick but short chunks of tomato on the dog so you wouldn't get tomato flavor in every bite, but the bites you did get it in, the tomato juice squirted everywhere. The sport peppers were applied in a haphazard fashion both towards the center of the dog. The onion chunks were thick and tasty. While the mustard and relish were well applied this was a slapdash attempt at a Chicago-style hot dog. Overall this hot dog was slightly more expensive than most places and while average in terms of taste, it required me having to re-work the application of the toppings for this to be reasonably edible. Based on the fact that this was such a carelessly constructed dog, I am going to say this is below average and give Munchie P's two stars. read more

I grew up in Geneva, and I am so sad that I didn't really even try this place until I was in my late-20's. I can never get back all of the Munchie P's that I have missed over those years! Seriously though, this place is awesome. They have very good burgers (if you like a char-grilled tasting one), and their haddock dinner is my absolute favorite fried fish in the entire world. I have said before (not kidding either) that I would buy a house across the street from this place just so that I could walk there to eat. While it may be a "greasy spoon" type establishment, the people who work at this restaurant treat you like it is a fancy dining experience. They are extremely friendly and always on top of things. I do not think I have ever seen them make a mistake. Also, this restaurant is always kept very clean, so do not hesitate to dine in. Munchie P's, I love you! This is a Geneva institution and I remember going there before I could see over the counter. While the building itself has changed dramatically the greasy spoon goodness has remained in tact over the decades. My personal favorites include beef sandwich, Chicago dogs and I was pleasantly surprised with the chicken gyro today at lunch. While I wouldn't personally recommend it, they also have a good selection of salads, with my dad and girlfriend both really enjoying the Greek salad. Huge menu with more choices than you'll know what to do with. Really nice customer service and good prices and specials. Nicer building same old comfort food. read more

What IS unquestionable however, is the fact that this place throws down on some of their items. I overall don't really like their gyros or chicken gyros. Munchie P's appears to be a beef stand, but the menu contains many more Greek-type foods as well as a few unique items. The inside was clean, decorated nicely and the service was prompt and friendly. I noticed a sign for their text alert list and immediately signed up for $2 off my entire order. I ordered a garden salad and a Poseidon wrap. The salad was pretty simple with lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, red/purple cabbage, cheese and croutons; I opted for a thousand island dressing. For only $3.25 this was a good portion, and when tossed together everything tasted good! The Poseidon wrap looked to be some kind of special, since it and a few other wraps were handwritten on a marker board right by the ordering counter. This good advertising intrigued me and I had to order it. The fish was grilled and chopped up and put into a tortilla with lettuce, tomato, tartar sauce and potentially something else I don't quite remember. It was better than I expected though and was interesting to see something different other than the usual chicken based wraps. The $2 off my order made all my food cost a mere $9! $9 for a whole salad and a unique fish wrap was really really a great deal. I probably ate more than I should have but no complaints on the food.
