With so many different breakfast places in the area it took us a minute to check this one out, but we sure are glad we did. The food was so delicious I forgot to take any pictures. I will say my favorite part of my experience here is that unlike other place the prices are extremely reasonable and they don't give you way too much food; as someone on a weight loss journey I appreciate that! The service is SUPER friendly and helpful. We had Mike as our server, we took his recommendations and glad we did. I also love how open and spread out the inside is. My daughter and I visited this restaurant for the first time this week; we will not return. Service was pleasant but slow. We both had a skillet which sounded delicious but when it arrived, many of the vegetables were burned. I went to First Watch with my shorday on a cold Thursday morning. Right when I walked in I was instantly attracted by the lighting in this establishment, it was a mix between natural and fluorescent lighting, and the guitar strumming of John Mayer that played throughout the entire breakfast over the speakers. Along with that, I also couldn't help but notice how much space there was. Big walkways with much room for walkers and such. The service was dull, the waitress seemed almost annoyed to take our order by her tone and lack of eye contact. Although on another note, our drinks and food came out hastily. Our orders were correct and the presentation was great. I got the seasonal cinnamon chip pancakes and my shorday got the bacado omelet. The pancakes felt organic and filling, on the contrast, the omelet was very bland and runny. We paid through a QR code which was very convenient. Just finished breakfast/lunch here. We got the pick two which was good ( soup and ham &Gruyère cheese . Soup was very good the sandwich was good except for the special sauce ) BUT second time here and had hoped the acoustics had improved . They have not. It is so loud in there. Just went here for the first time with my spouse and it was a lovely experience. Staff is friendly and the place is ambient with conversation & music. Service was excellent--our server was ON it, and was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. Food was served hot --I had the Gruyere egg sandwich, and my spouse had the works omelette--both delicious! I love that they leave the coffee pot at the table. I also had a pomegranate beverage that was so fresh and a nice balance to the meal. Would highly recommend. We will definitely be back! read more

Ben was our server. He was fun and a great first experience for us at First Watch. I had the the beef and havarti sandwich. It was out of this world! Overrated. Go to Syrup instead. The wait was awful and the restaurant was extremely crowded. Reservations aren't accepted and even if you call an hour ahead, you will still have to wait a minimum of 30 min to be seated. Service was poor and our waiter didn't check in with the table even once, no refills, etc. Food is average at best and portions are small. Much better breakfast places in Geneva and not worth the wait or money. read more

Came for the first time on 1/21 for breakfast. Our server was prompt.....in the beginning but fell short after that, tea and coffee arrived promptly though. My wife ordered the Blueberry Lemon Cream French toast, she said it was very good without being overly sweet. I ordered the Tri-Fecta with sausage links, it came with bacon. We also ordered a side of the Million Dollar bacon that never arrived. Our server FINALLY came over to see how everything was and we explained everything. In short, our server seemed more interested in talking with other employees than taking care of customers. Don't think we'll go back. read more

It's really good, and I say that loving the existing brunch spots in this area. We now have another option. You definitely don't get the amount of food as the other places, and prices are comparable. But it is always good tasting and service is pretty decent. I waited so long for a Bloody Mary one time, I had to do it as a shooter as we were leaving. read more

Restaurant is extremely noisy. Lots of hard surfaces for the sound bounce off of. Difficult to have a conversation. Fun atmosphere though. I ordered a frittata. It was very dry and tough. Very disappointing. The bread that came with.it was delightful and so was the salad. On our bill, there were three choices for tip. 20%, 22% or 25%. I thought that was very pushy. I LOVE this place. I'm from Colorado and First Watch has been there a few years now and is my fave breakfast/brunch go-to place. This location in Geneva IL is new, opened just this week. Doesn't matter. Already, the food and service is just as good as any other I've been to! This location is particularly grand and beautiful. It's their standard decor-- the popular farm-house style, but in a very large space with really high ceilings and lots of tall windows and light, even with a full service bar which I have never seen in Colorado! It does have a more elegant ambiance than usual... but still casual. I would describe their menu as home-cooked comfort with an upscale flair. I tend to order the same thing most visits, when I find "the perfect bite" that's usually my go-to forever more at any particular place. Here, I'm hooked on the Farmers Market Skillet. The potatoes are chunky medallions, perfectly crispy brown sear and soft & tender on the inside... the veggies are also chopped chunky, farm-fresh and cooked perfectly--slightly tender, never mushy--and the goat cheese adds just the right sharp creaminess. I top it with two eggs over easy and, sigh, oh my... when my fork pierces into the hot yellow yolk and it drizzles into the perfectly seasoned potatoes and veggies and goat cheese... Heaven! To me, this is the perfect breakfast bite! Honorable mention to the thick-sliced whole grain toast with fresh preserves and fresh fruit cup. And the coffee? WOW! They serve it in a hot carafe so you don't run low, and let me tell you... it's my favorite restaurant coffee ANYWHERE! A dark roast Colombian...rich, robust, not bitter but smooth and with chocolate notes. Just Divine! I was so happy to discover they sell it by the bag now and brought it home with me. I have tried other items which were also very good... sausage links great, seasonal crab cakes yum, eggs Benedict are amazing, specialty iced fresh-squeezed fruit drinks are so refreshing and unique flavor combos ... Have been to the new First Watch in Geneva 4 times now and each time the service was horrible. They seat you quickly and drop off a menu but then no one comes to offer water, coffee, etc. COFFEE first, people!!!!! --Especially in a breakfast spot. My husband and I go out to breakfast 4-5 times a week so we know what good service is. #1 to us is to be quickly greeted and given coffee, water. We enjoy drinking our coffee while we read the menu. And First Watch has a lengthy, complicated menu that deserves reading. But let us drink our coffee while we read the menu, please! Could this possibly be their procedure so servers don't have to come back to the table multiple times? Make the customers wait for coffee until they've decided what to order? We gave them another chance today, but the same thing happened. Numerous staff walked right by us, never acknowledging us, never even glancing our way... and of course NO COFFEE! One server finally said she would be back, but she didn't come back either. We got up and left. No one noticed or cared. We will not be going back. read more

Was pretty much what I expected. Nice atmosphere, good service once someone finally came to wait on us, and nothing special about the food. Is a typical chain restaurant feel. They attempt to be a stylish trendy restaurant but not really. If want good trendy food go to Buttermilk. If want good food with a comfy home feel go to Alexander's. Egg Harbor is also a better pick. Tried a Bloody Mary and it comes in a pre-made bottle. No flavor. There is a bar there why not make them as ordered? Was hoping for another breakfast place to add to rotation. Nope. You want to like this restaurant but the service is absolutely terrible!! This is our 2nd visit. The first time we came was their opening weekend so we chalked it up to being new albeit plastic was found in our food along with several mishaps. We wanted to give it another try. Today the service is even worse! In addition to repeatedly bringing out the wrong dish 3x, the waitress was inattentive and curt. I had ordered a omelette with tomato's and lite feta. The so called omelette was thin like a pancake, rubber in texture and the tomato's were sun dried. Horrible and even the water had a funky taste.
