    "I wanted sushi tonight" bowl
    Bailey P.

Great food and great service! So many great burger options and some salads, bowls, tacos, and mac & cheese items on the menu for the non-burger people like me. I've had the mac and cheese before and loved it - very filling and a generous portion. Tonight I tried the sushi bowl. I was worried it would be too spicy but it wasn't at all. A bit heavy on the sauce but still very good. We sat outside on the patio since the weather was perfect; however, the trains can get a bit annoying.

Definitely NOT a short rib burger. It's a COLD bacon burger.

We love Burger Local's food. But you have to visit and dine in. Consistently wrong food sent to us yet AGAIN tonight. SEE PIC. The General Manager blamed the third party driver, but the restaurant packed the incorrect dinner for the driver. AGAIN. The driver took 40 minutes once he picked up the food. So to net it out, I received someone else's dinner, cold. AGAIN. Too many local spots can get a burger right, sadly won't order for delivery again

Tater tot appetizer. Amazing, so good!!

My second visit and it was ok. The shrimp bao buns need more slaw and dressing. They were dry and tasteless. Very disappointing for the price. The burgers and sides were pretty good but for some reason nothing special. I was disappointed in the pastrami on my burger. And it was so messy I didn't enjoy it. The highlight was the corn chowder soup.

BYO Mac n Cheese (Add Bacon & Onion Strings)

Stopped by Burger Local midafternoon on a Sunday. The restaurant is located on a street corner directly next to the Geneva Metra train stop. There is free street parking on 3rd street and free metra parking on weekends. They have a small outdoor patio area as well as a fairly large indoor dining area and bar. The restaurant is beautifully designed with a dark interior, modern accent lighting, green walls, and rustic tables/chairs. We snagged a table inside without any wait. We decided to just order mains: the Quesabirria Burger ($18) & BYO Mac n Cheese ($12) which I added bacon ($2) and onion strings ($1). Food came out steaming hot and fresh! The Mac n Cheese has cavatelli noodles, creamy cheese and toppings of choice. While the entree doesn't look overly large, it was filling! I got a little less than halfway before needing a to go box. My partner ordered the Quesabirria Burger as it was unique to the menu and listed as a "chef's pick". I wouldn't quite deem itself as a "burger" but it came as marinated meat with cheese and onions between a large tortilla shell. It paired with a traditional style sauce that was mild but flavor packed. Overall, our food was delicious! Where the experience lacked a bit was the service. Initially we got waters right away but after that, the server lingered before checking in to take our order as well as get us a to go box/check. We never got our waters refilled while eating and overall it wasn't crowded enough to feel like grace should be given.

As we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the hostess. We came in on a Friday night. Highly suggest reserving in advance. I've been here before many times and forgot. Waited about 30 minutes to be seated. I ordered the BBQ burger which was phenomenal. Portion is good for two meals. Staff was attentive even on a busy night. The restaurant is very dark and not too much lighting but was not an issue for me. Would return!

Visited the Burger Local for dinner and was thrilled with my experience. Their burgers are hefty and tasty! I ordered the Bbq burger w/ truffle fries and finished all my fries and a little more than half the burger before getting full. Both the burger and fries were delicious! Not a huge deviled eggs girly but i didn't mind these at all. Ambiance of restaurant is overall dim and vintage. Did have outdoor seating that was unavailable when i visited but will go back to checkout. If you're looking for a good burger stop at burger local and come hungry!

This is place has a divey tavern feel, but is clean and efficient. I was told 30 minutes for a table on a busy Saturday night when a street festival was going on, but they seated us after no more than 10 minutes. The service was quick and friendly. And the assortment of burgers in the menu really wowed me! Creations like an elote burger or a burger topped with artichoke hearts, spinach, and garlic aioli. Yum. But a disclaimer as well. Don't order a burger with the skimpy little 4oz wagyu patties. It's criminal to pay for Wagyu and then cook it like a well done smash-burger. If you want a smashed burger go to 5-Guys. Choose the 10os regular beef patty. That's a damn good burger. Also, the Brussels sprouts side was good, but they are stewed not roasted, so know what you are getting.

    Falafel Burger and side salad
    Brooke s.

This was pretty good! I enjoyed my falafel burger and house salad, although it was nothing spectacular. My drink was good as well. Our waitress was not very present, so service could have been better.

Tried Burger Local recently on a lunch break from work. The place is clean, modern and spacious. Located right by the train station area in Geneva. The food was pretty good - I got a wagyu burger with egg and bacon. It came with a salad. Overall it was tasty and fresh. Pricing is a little bit high for burgers and sandwiches but probably close to the price for the area. Service was ok. What was really frustrating is that I was seated right by the door and every time the waitress came in and out of the restaurant, the wind would hit me in the face and my hair would get in my face and food. The gust of air which was somewhat chilly was also annoying. **Frustrating** The table right next to the side door should probably be moved or staff should ideally use the front door as it will be annoying to pretty much any customer that eats at that table.

    Bar area, from the corner!

The Birria egg rolls were a bit on the smaller side but made a big impression with its preparation. I've never had birria wrapped in anything as crispy as the wonton wrapper this was wrapped in. The birria was flavorful while being tender and not being too salty. The white cheddar and chihuahua cheese added a small amount of extra saltiness and a bit more fat, which matched well with the chipotle aiola. The duck poutine was incredibly flavorful, while sitting on the edge of potentially being too bold. The fries were incredibly crispy though there was quite a bit of gravy on the dish and the white cheddar cheese curds did a great job of keeping the entire dish hot throughout the meal, while adding a little bit of extra flavor. The bacon and onion added some umami though it almost made the dish a bit too salty and the duck confit added a nice protein element. Overall a little pricey, but given the more unique menu and quality of both the flavors and textures, it's worth the premium. The food here is definitely memorable and in line with excellent options available in Geneva.

These days the price hikes are expected, nothing new, and the day Nobel started to impose a penalty for paying via credit card (which initially they were ALSO taxing, and at a rate no less that was higher than Geneva's local tax percentage) was when I started only paying with cash. Hey, I like(d) their food and love(d) their employees, I'm willing to pay out the nose and jump through hoops for the experience. I'll admit, I went from eating there almost every day during Covid to maybe once a month, but when my family asks me where we should go out, Nobel is ALWAYS the first that comes to mind. Within the past week I've visiting Nobel for the last time. Prices notably up again, check. Many new employees, slower service, and uh oh, what's this, the food quality is in the toilet? Couple that with another service by Kelli and her terrible attitude, and things aren't looking great. Portions. Like everywhere else, as I said, at Nobel the prices are up and portions are down. My wife's favorite though, their lobster roll (formerly one of the best I've ever had in the United States, and I travel along the east coast quite a bit), has taken a hit harder than anything else on their menu from what I can ascertain. $31 now, which isn't new, it's been $31 since the beginning of 2026 from what I can remember, but $31 and it's probably 30% smaller than it used to be. For $31 you get a lobster roll that literally looks like a piece of Texas toast folded in half now, a 30% smaller portion of lobster, and if by some off chance you order the side salad, the side salad is also smaller. I can go on about all of the other cuts that are evident, but the $31 lobster roll is about the best display of the dismal direction Nobel House is headed. Sad... Nobel House, you'll be missed.
