We have been coming here since Zen's opened. We have enjoyed sushi for decades, eaten all over the country and gone to every highly rated sushi place in our area where most serve American style rolls smothered in an overabundance of toppings to appeal to the American penchant for the theatrical that believes more is more. But there is no better, fresher or sweeter salmon or more perfect rice than we have found at Zen's. When fish can shine on its own, you have found something worth going back to again and again. Great service, kind and friendly family who know their customers well. If you like quality and simple authenticity, look no further.

My daughter and I had lunch here a little while back. Let me start by saying the staff are amazingly friendly. I felt like someone was personally making sushi for me. We had the crispy shrimp roll, spicy salmon roll, and the crispy crab inari. This is honestly some of the best sushi I've had in the area. My favorite by far was the inari, and this is from someone who normally doesn't eat tofu. It is a must try. The price point is good, and again, the service is excellent. I will definitely be back.

This is a welcome option for sushi in the Tri-Cities area. Since our beloved nearby place closed we have been trying all the sushi restaurants but not finding a favorite. We were happy to order from this new business run by a local family. They were friendly on the phone and in person. They answered right away and the order was made quickly. They told us how they make everything fresh everyday and stressed the importance of that, which we appreciate! The rolls definitely hit the spot! We will definitely be back to try more!

This place is AMAZING. I was in Geneva and looking for some restaurants and came across a Tiktok of the owners nephew recommending it and the nigiri looked so good we had to make a stop. The owner was so nice and recommended bubble tea which wasn't in the menu. We got mango and I love any boba that bursts in your mouth 10/10 chugged it. The salmon was amazing too so fresh so great. Love this quick concept utilizing an old subway location and it makes sense. You need to grab this place even if it's just a quick to go order. I honestly ate this all on my ride home.

Got some sushi from this place in Geneva that makes it real fast. It may not be the ideal way to make sushi but it's not for those wanting authentic quality. Zen's Sushi Express has a name that sounds like trouble. Maybe like one will be meditating on the toilet after eating it. This wasn't as bad as expected, and there were no guttural problems. Choosing this as a place to get sushi is some kind of an idea. It's understandable because it's much better prices. There's people wanting to try sushi but they won't want to go to those fancy places and get some exquisite stuff. Actually there's much better places than here and it's about the same prices. There's places that have pretty cheap lunch specials. Anyway, it's pretty much beginner level sushi here. It's about $7 for the fruit tea. Has many to choose from including kiwi. It's about $6 for the Avocado Roll. This is a basic one with rice and seaweed. Has sushi for those on a budget, and for those in a hurry. It's closed Mondays. Have ordered from here several times now and they're consistently great! The employees (think they're the owners, actually) are SO nice. I've had rolls and poke bowels and everything is fresh and tasty. Importantly, I think the rice is the right consistency. Have had sushi from other area places that just didn't seem "right" to me. Very easy to order online and the pickups are right as scheduled. Prices are totally fair as well. My local go-to! read more

I think that it's really creative that they kept the old subway layout it's nice to see how they make the sushi. This is a great little mom and pop shop on the east side of Geneva. We got takeout from here for the first time last night, and it definitely will not be the last time. The food was well prepared and delicious, the prices are very reasonable, and everything was ready for us to pick up within 15 minutes of us submitting the order online. Good thing I walked in when I did as they had just handed my take out to another guest...he was lingering around and when I gave my name the lady called the guy back to the counter and he clearly had my order. Just ordered spicy California roll and spicy tuna roll. Both very good. Serving size was large and got me through 2 meals. I'll definitely order here again. The Birria egg rolls were a bit on the smaller side but made a big impression with its preparation. I've never had birria wrapped in anything as crispy as the wonton wrapper this was wrapped in. The birria was flavorful while being tender and not being too salty. The white cheddar and chihuahua cheese added a small amount of extra saltiness and a bit more fat, which matched well with the chipotle aiola. The duck poutine was incredibly flavorful, while sitting on the edge of potentially being too bold. The fries were incredibly crispy though there was quite a bit of gravy on the dish and the white cheddar cheese curds did a great job of keeping the entire dish hot throughout the meal, while adding a little bit of extra flavor. The bacon and onion added some umami though it almost made the dish a bit too salty and the duck confit added a nice protein element. Overall a little pricey, but given the more unique menu and quality of both the flavors and textures, it's worth the premium. The food here is definitely memorable and in line with excellent options available in Geneva.

The restaurant was pretty empty and sparsely decorated but had a comfortable private booth for the four of us. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive but didn't rush us. I ordered their version of a pbj burger. You get two smash burgers and two slices of bacon with a dollop of pbj and I ordered it on a gluten free bun. I've had this sandwich at other places that were superior but it was decent. The sushi rolls were a generous size and more wasabi was brought out when asked. The poke bowl salad looked fresh. The stand out item was the tuna tower which I would order if we came back. There is a parking lot adjacent to the restaurant and inside the restrooms are unisex, clean and high tech.

My Bento Box was DELICIOUS (sushi, tempura, nigiri) but a few of the specialty rolls we had were not such. Maybe it was because we were there on a Monday, maybe because we ordered wrong. Who knows! But the staff was friendly, the place was clean and inviting (although the bathroom had some sort of water problem - the floor was soaked and it was very humid) and the staff was pleasant. In fact, they apparently have balloon animals (swords) for the kids, which is fun. And they served the food with some dry ice "foggers" which, I don't care who you are, dry ice is always a hit. I'd be willing to give Swordfish another try if we find ourselves in the area and have a sushi craving.

Sandwiches are made in house and brought to your table. They also offer takeout home meals ..all homemade. Can't wait to go back and try one of their soups, especially on a cold winter day.

They have several flavors of gluten free bagels, squeal! The service is so welcoming and considerate about allergies. We shared a Bee Sting breakfast sandwich because this is how it is described on the menu "One of our most popular sandwiches! Egg, Cheddar Cheese, Crispy Bacon, Scallion Schmear, and Heaven's Hot Honey. You can't beat this combo!" Omg it was scrumptious! You can pre-order and drive thru to pick up or park in the adjacent lot and walk in. You can customize everything so check out their website ordering menu ahead of time. The coffee was really tasty too. There was a constant flow of patrons early on a Sunday morning. There are only two tables inside so we took our order to go. I'm already dreaming of what I'll try next and who I will bring with to enjoy these really delicious bagels in Geneva.
