i'm sorry in advance for this long paragraph. tonight i decided while running my late night errands and place a quick online order at fry the coop before they closed (i haven't had it since last summer when i was home from school). I ordered my usual sandwich, an og spicy butter with NO pickles (i am allergic) , cut in half, and add a side of coop sauce. I placed my order at 9:31. believe me, i worked in food service and i understand the frustration of people ordering 30 minutes before close, but it happens‍. i have had this happen 1 occurrence before where they didn't remove the pickles after i stated verbally i had an allergy. (which is why ever since i did pick up orders). I received my food stapled (i have never received my food stapled in the past). and i can admit it probably was my fault for not ripping the bag open in my car and checking before i left, but i figured since the bag was stapled i didn't want to ruin the bag while i carry it and other items in the house. once opening, sandwich wasn't cut and my side of coop sauce was a side of pickles :/ very disappointed, especially when on the ticket it says the instructions clear as day.. my sandwich was still good, but i definitely won't be returning. read more

The food was very tasty. We ordered the nuggets, tenders, and fries. I will say that they give a lot of fries, and it is very yummy for their shareable option that comes dressed up. The nuggets were good, and we got them "hot" for our spice. The tenders had a different level of heat for each tender, and I think the hottest flavor is just unbearable lol. Good to try though! When I first heard that Fry the Coop was coming to our neck of the woods, I was ecstatic. Many years ago, I discovered the magic of their Nashville hot sandwich and it was love at first bite. Flash forward a decade and Bolingbrook now has their very own FTC on the corner of Lily Cache and Weber Rd. The original Nashville chicken sandwich ($11) is the obvious choice, but don't sleep on the spicy honey butter chix sammy ($11.75). If you're down with a fork-and-knife affair, the Messy Fries ($9.25) are a good value. Their seasoned house fries ($4) are very tasty. Other sides include mac & cheese and potato salad. A 3-tender plate w/fries is $12.50. For comparison, you can get 2 tenders w/fries @ Dave's Hot Chicken for $12.50. The same 2 tender combo w/fries @ Burnin' Mouth (inside Yorktown Mall) is only $9, and you can get a 3-tender combo w/fries & drink for $11 at Slim Chickens. Fry the Coop is pricey, but not outrageous. I recently found out they use six different spice blends for their hot chicken. You can pick from 'country' (paprika), 'mild' (cayenne pepper), 'medium' (habanero), 'hot' (ghost pepper), 'crazy' (Trinidad scorpion), and 'lil insanity' (Carolina reaper). Based on my experience with the eye-watering potency of Level 4, I assume Level 5 will send you to urgent care. Level 6 might kill weaker humans. I've never seen or heard someone order 'lil insanity', but I know it comes with a waiver and staff ask "are you sure this is something you want to do?" Let that sink in for a minute: they use habanero peppers in their MEDIUM! At most other places, habaneros are treated as an apex pepper, something not-to-be-exceeded. I can't wrap my head around the fact that there's two levels BEYOND 'hot', which should be called "Ambulance Ride" and "u died, bro". * TL;DR * I've loved Fry the Coop for a while now, and to have them ~this~ close by is probably a curse as much as it is a blessing. The quality is unmatched, but it's difficult to justify dropping $11/sandwich plus another $7 for fries + drink every visit. The chicken is succulent -- whether in the form of sandwich or tenders -- and their proprietary blend of spices is otherworldly. Fry the Coop's heat levels do not play around, so I strongly recommend choosing a grade below what you'd normally order. Once they coat the food in their wicked seasonings, there's no going back. The Lil Insanity spice level definitely packs a punch, but it's not the hottest thing I've ever eaten. I paired it with the Nashville, and the combination was incredible. Fry The Coop was definitely a stop I would recommend you make, especially if you want to take a few moments and admire a lot of the old pictures that are carefully hung throughout the restaurant. I'm not sure if there is a rhyme nor reason to a theme of the pictures. Most of them are rather old but I'm not sure how it connects to the restaurant. Regardless I did take a few moments to look at the various pictures and most of them have a connection to Chicago and even Bolingbrook which is definitely appreciated. The employees definitely seem to engaged and were able to answer any questions I had about the menu which consists of various options all based around chicken nuggets and tenders, even including a variety of sauces. I'll be back and I recommend you do the same. read more

Went to the new " Fry the coop" in Bolingbrook and it was Delicious, I love that you get to choose the heat level you want, we had the "Tenders platter " with Mac and cheese and Cole slaw, the Mac and cheese was very good the chicken was spot on the meat was juicy and it had just the right amount of breading, we also the " Chicago Hot " sandwich I ordered it medium because it was my first time trying their heat levels it was made to perfection absolutely delicious the giardiniera was so flavorful with a little heat, next time I'm ordering my Chicken the next heat level up, I also had the spicy fries such great flavor similar to the fries you get at an old Chicago Hot Dog stand, I loved everything about this place I can't wait to go back, I also loved the picnic table seating it was very laid back, if your looking for a place to try a Chicken Sandwich give "Fry the Coop" a try. read more

Every time I go to this location, Mika, Wilson and Emily are so friendly. The food is always slappin. i have MS and before I was diagnosed i would eat fried chicken all the time. it would give me flare ups. the fact that fry the coop uses beef fat to fry their chicken and fries, it keeps my inflammation down. Went to Fry the Coop Bolingbrook location because for the past week I heard nothing but good things about the small chicken chain. And wanted to try them out, I was there at 11:55 am today and a really nice lady Mikahla worked the register she was nice, patient and pleasant to talk too. I didn't realize til last second that the medium equaled to habanero spice so I asked to change it to mild and she immediately requested the kitchen crew to change it from medium to mild instead, thank you for adjusting my request so well Mikahla. The Chicken and Cheese Sandwich is 11.95 a la carte this doesn't include the meal if you want the meal its 5.99 more for a fry and large drink. This place is on the pricey side so please be aware if you want to stay at minimum of $20. So the chicken and cheese sandwich and a small house fry is 4.59 a la carte for the fries. With tax my total was 18.20?!Wow!! Well let me tell ya folks was it worth the 18.20 the answer is Yes. It was definitely worth the money, the chicken sandwich traveled well and stayed warm during the travel home. Their house fries although this is my first time trying beef fat fries they had an interesting flavor to the fries. The fries have their skin on so kept half of the fries crispy while the more lengthy fries are crispy and fluffy inside. They had about 10 customers dining in at the time I entered and waited for my food. Wait time for my food was 5 minutes so great customer service and great food. Went early on Saturday morning after craving chicken and waffles. No one was in restaurant at time, very casual spot. If you dine in insist up as picnic tables, they are large enough to fit 8-10 people a table. You order at counter and then it is brought to you. I ordered a serving of chicken and waffles to share w my husband . Just want to try , not be too full. Price was about 15$ . We sat and waited for some time before the cashier came out and advised there was error/issue and it would be some time longer. We waited and then again were advised that wait was almost over , luckily we were not in a rush and we were offered an additional order at no charge for inconvenience. Once food arrived it was nice and hot. Chicken was crispy and had good flavor , waffles were good, would have liked a little more crisp to them but they were good especially with the syrup. Inside was bacon pieces and powdered sugar. You are able to choose spice level of chicken, I got mild and it was perfect . I'm not a fan of spicy . Recently tried this business after it's grand opening. My husband and I got chicken sandwiches to go, with seasoned fries and Mac n cheese. The girl at the counter was very helpful, suggesting that I only order Medium spice level as it's equivalent to most place's Hot. She also offered a water cup while I waited for the food, which was not very long at all. I'd highly recommend the new Fry the Coop place! Hubby just got a small 3 piece meal to try while I went to Los Comales. We brought the food home and upon trying a French fry which was a fresh cut fry nothing frozen and mass produced! I had a bite of his chicken tender which I then wanted to switch!! Very, very good chicken!! I'm already making plans for what I will get on our next visit! And their Fry the Coop sauce was very yummy! Went today for lunch at opening time. Ordered a tender meal. chicken and coleslaw were excellent. I got mild because I'm a wimp when it comes to spices :-) Mild had a little cayenne on it but it was really good. The fries were disappointing. They were slightly warm and not crisp. The cook was very nice but the staff taking the order was not very friendly, she was very busy working on other things like opening wrappers etc. I will try again in the future. Other customers come in, get their food with no problems, a customer comes back after getting their order and complains about missing fries, they make his fries and give it to him, it's now been 20 minutes, I ask about my food again and it's been sitting there the whole time, it's one of the 2 bags I saw when I first arrived, cashier was rude and couldn't care less. Food was cold and unappetizing, fries were ice cold.. this food is expensive and I just threw my money and time away, I'm never going there again mainly because of the way I was treated. STAY AWAY. We ordered three tenders plates; two mild (flavor, no heat) and one medium. What we got was "mild" plates that burned our mouths out. Not joking; we were gulping milk and yogurt after the first bite. Completely inedible. Either the staff made a really careless mistake or the staff thought it would be funny to supply the wrong chicken. Either way, not acceptable.
