UNCLE BUBS AWARD WINNING BBQ IS UNDEFEATED. The impeccable help from Jim, our server, was simply fantastic. Jim recognized us as REGULARS, an honor only few can boast at Uncle Bubs. As a storm rolled overhead, and thunder clapped as though from the very hands of Zeus, Uncle Bubs remained cozy as ever. Trees swayed, leaves fell, and the wind howled. Yet Jim - our server - remained firmly planted on the ground. As much as it may seem this is the greatest service possible, it doesn't even rank in my top 10 greatest experiences at UNCLE BUBS AWARD WINNING BBQ RESTAURANT. read more

Fun BBQ spot! For being a counter service I thought it was a little pricey, but it seems like a local spot, so I'd be back. My toddlers liked the kids meal, husband liked his sandwich. As a vegetarian I'm just thankful they offer a veg friendly meal. Oh but please add traditional sweet tea to the restaurant! read more

WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN? It all started when I walked into Uncle Bub's Award Winning Barbecue, I was pleasantly greeted by the entire staff, but Jim went above and beyond to show me #Bublove. When our food arrived, I was transported into a universe of flavors clashing together beautifully. When suddenly, out of nowhere, NBA legend ASHRAF AMAYA APPEARED! He devoured the entire table of ribs only realizing that it was an eating competition meant for 10 competitors. If you desire a restaurant that features delicious food, staff that recognizes you as regulars (Jim), and the chance to meet former nba legends, uncle bubs is your home away from home. read more

It's been a while since we went back. We gave it a try (again). We ordered the Uncle Joe Burger (pulled pork/burger combo) and Platter (catfish and brisket). They just ok. The brisket was smothered with bbq sauce (why???). The side of baked beans was fine. The only thing I like was the cornbread. read more

Great local place for some bbq. They have plenty of indoor seating. They also offer carryout and catering. Of the meats of theirs that I have tried, my favorite is the pulled chicken. The pulled pork is decent, but I was disappointed in the turkey. (The turkey also had an upcharge which made it disappointing). For sides, I recommend the mashed potatoes or fries. Mac and cheese is a little dry. Friendly service and hometown feel. Recommend checking them out for dine in or catering needs. read more

I've had a love/hate relationship with BBQ for some time now, Learning that I really don't like the taste of smoke when it's overwhelming. Also food that's TOO fatty gives me what I call the "Queasies". Thirdsome, I REALLY get a case of the red-ass when I have to dish out money for a feed I absolutely did not enjoy. We used to go to Uncle Bub's here often, but there wasn't enough to make us keep patronizing. Something put us off it, I can't recall what. Wife had heard/seen something that caught her eye and wanted to give it another shake, and I am usually amenable to that decision. We both swung with Combo plates-Ribs/Pulled Pork/Rib Tips/Brisket and Quarter Chix (Dark for me /White for Wife). I also had the Chili for starters. The Chili was pretty good-not spicy, and not bold in flavor, but a hearty bowl. Next time I'll ask for some crushed red to add. Moving on, My notes say the Ribs were hard and dry, not strong in taste, and not too fatty-that may have been the problem. The Pulled Pork was OK, but a bit adipose in consistency. The Tips were too fatty (as rib tips are supposed to be--what did I expect?) and I left them on the place after one small bite (To say I at least tried them) Brisket was ok, but I'm not a fan of brisket in general. I was beginning to think "Why in hell did I order a plate with stuff I know I don't enjoy in the first place?"--idiocy abounds! Now, the Chicken was another story-Moist and tasty, especially with the good selection of sauces on the table. Wife was full and did not finish most of her chix breast, and it wound up on my tray. I don't normally like chicken breast (I say it's food for people who don't like to eat), but surprisingly it was moist and yum. Really Yum with the house BBQ sauce applied. The star of the show, folks. The corn bread fell apart, and was pretty useless. The Greenie Beanies were edible, but not fabulous. Wife did not like ColeSlaw, but I did. The throw on the soft drinks was very good. If we come back it will be for the Chicken. I'll try the ribs again, 'cos like I said they were neither oversmoked or fatty. Epilogue: Wife ordered 2 smoked Turkey Breasts for Thanksgiving. They weren't bad, but they weren't anything special. Especially at $118 apiece! Slicing them the next day for sandwiches, the taste wasn't much better than the version I get at Mariano's for much less money. AAArrrrrgh! Caveat Emptor! read more

We've been to most of the nearby BBQ restaurants. We've never been here, until now! Before you go into downtown Westmont, coming off 55th, it's on your left. They have convenient signs that guide you to the cashiers. This place is actually fairly large. The staff is super friendly, and you get a large portion for the price. I got pork and chicken, macaroni and cheese, fries, and a corn bread. The chicken was a little dry, so I preferred the pork. Overall, good experience. read more

I am glad I gave this local restaurant another try ever since my mediocre 2017 experience. In recent years, we have revisited for a quick family dinner and larger group meals. What we have tried and enjoyed are the following: 1) Rib tips, large 2) Pig picklin' pulled pork sandwich with 2 sides 3) Carri Lee's southern fried chicken dinner with 2 sides & cornbread 4) Pitmaster bologna sandwich 5) The everything platter I have always been a huge sucker for gourmet bologna sandwiches and this one definitely won me over. The smoked bologna was thick-cut and flavorful. Paired with the pulled pork, pepper jack cheese, and Carolina sauce, it was a finger-licking delicacy. We almost always order the rib tips because it's our young girls' favorite. Depending on our group size, we would either order the small or large appetizer because we want more of the rib tips. The dinner portion has less rib tips but it comes with two side dishes. Two other things to highlight: I really appreciate their vegetarian options such as vegetarian burger and sandwich. Most barbecue restaurants do not have this option outside of the side dishes. As for those dining in with children, they will be given an ice cream token for a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream. It's definitely a highlight for our girls. read more

tried this restaurant for the first time for their restaurant week deal. We got the everything platter which comes out to $40 (with $17 savings). The bbq was good the sauces were delicious, but it's not out of this world, mainly because the food wasn't hot. It came warm and became cold fast, which led to some of the meat being a little tough. I did enjoy the ribs and the sauce that it came with. I LOVED the atmosphere. Everything was clean and the decor in there was so cute. I even saw some merchandise so I assume they have a lot of regulars. I also applaud their service. Many of the employees came to check in on us and offered to clear the table. Since our party ordered 2 of the everything platters, we had to move to a bigger table and the server was so helpful in getting us there. Overall, food is okay, but we've and atmosphere raise the score. read more

Ordered a full slab rib dinner for delivery. What I got: 1. Ribs overcooked with a leather like consistency 2. Cole slaw that tasted like eating grass 3. Baked beans (pretty good) 4. Corn muffin with huge chunks in it. Only ate the beans and 2 ribs and threw everything else in garbage. Basically, I paid $51 for the baked beans and the aggravation! And $8 for a delivery that took one and a half hours! Talked to manager. Refused to give me a refund. What a bunch of scamming jerks! read more

This is a casual, homestyle BBQ spot. We ordered the Sampler Platter and Mac Daddy on our first visit to try and get a good sense of the options. While the Chicago Burbs aren't known as a BBQ mecca, Uncle Bub's did a great job. Interestingly, the brisket in the Mac Daddy wasn't quite as good as the brisket in the Sampler Platter, and we did have some highs and lows with the meat options in terms of our favorites. I usually love brisket, but that wasn't where Uncle Bub's really shined. The Mac and cheese on its own was quite a hit, as were the garlic green beans. The baked beans were good, but nothing special. What was special was the smoked chicken. Truly outstanding, and when I go back, I'm going to focus on the chicken! read more

Finally was able to give Uncle Bub's BBQ a try after driving past countless times. My wife and I came here on a Sunday evening and it was empty so we had our pick of seats. We had comfortable booth seats and the inside of the restaurant was cozy but spacious. Since it was our first time we decided to share the sample platter with the garlic green bean & baked bean sides. The Mac Daddy (Mac and cheese with brisket) sounded good so we also ordered that to split. The platter was plenty of food for two people - we couldn't finish the beans but it was very good. The pulled pork, brisket and ribs were good, the rib tips were okay but the chicken stole the show. The right flavor of crispy but very moist chicken - I would order just chicken for my next visit. The Mac and cheese was just okay and most likely would skip ordering in the future. At each table there are different sauces to try - my personal favs are the spicy and bold gold. Service here was very friendly and our food came out quickly. I'll for sure be back! read more

Uncle Bub's is one of my favorite places to eat! The food is always delicious, and the chicken tenders are some of my favorites. I also love all of the interior decorations--they give the restaurant a fun, unique atmosphere. Great food, great service, and always a great experience! read more

Drove past this place several times. I stopped by today for a quick lunch. There is a small parking lot in front of the building, Sunday around 3:30 pm not a problem, not sure what is the parking like on Friday or Saturday night. They have arrows on the floor guiding you through a couple of rooms to the service counter. You order at the register, and they give you a number to place at your table. I got the Burnt Ends Hoagie; it came with two sides; garlic green beans and coleslaw were my choices. Thank you for toasting the bun! I cannot tell you how many times I am served a hamburger or sandwich with bread directly out of the bag. The burnt ends were meaty and savory, really very good. The garlic green beans were true to their name; I enjoyed the unique approach verse the standard green beans. The Cole slaw was tangy and creamy. The restaurant has a rustic vibe to it, the staff were friendly and efficient. Surprisingly their to-go menu has no prices on it. My burnt-ends Hoagie was $18.Ribs were $20 for half, $33 for full. Chicken dinners start at $17, burgers start at $16, signature sandwiches start at $12 and ho up to $17. Burgers, sandwiches and dinners include two sides. The kids menu starts at $8 and goes up to $11 includes one side. read more

Ooooh weeeee! Dat's money dude! Stopped in here while in the area And was NOT disappointed. Alex walked me through the menu and I decided on the sampler platter to try a little bit of everything. It takes the cornbread to the next level! read more

I love the dining room the booths are so comfortable and the atmosphere makes you feel like your eating outside. There are lights on the walls and the buffalo plaid tablecloths are a nice touch. There are lots of condiments on the table and the roll of high quality paper towels are a must have when eating messy BBQ. This is our first time here, we shared the Uncle Bubs Sample Platter. The meats were so tender and delicious and the cornbread was very moist and had small chewy bits of corn which I loved! There are several sauces to choose from. I cannot eat tomatoes because of my arthritis and they actually have one called "Whitewash" and is reminded me of a honey mustard! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and we highly recommend you give this place a try! We will definitely be back! Yummy! They have a gambling area too. read more

A neighbor recommended this place for the ribs so we decided to try it out. My husband and I decided to get two sampler platters which was WAYYY too much food. We could have gotten away with just sharing one sampler platter between 2 people. The ribs were my favorite followed by the bbq chicken. I normally don't care for bbq chicken, but their chicken was super moist, smokey and tasty. The sides were okay and the cornbread was very good. They have a variety of bbq sauces to use, but I prefer their original bbq sauce. The employees here are super friendly, the service is fast, there is tons of seating and each table is loaded up with napkins and condiments. We will be back! read more

Uncle Bubbs is where it's at! They catered our wedding and OMG everyone raved about the food. The chicken limon was my favorite, flavorful and juicy- and their BBQ pork- I wish I could have eaten twice as much! The sides were amazing too, and the the buffet set up was drool-worthy. We had a Thanksgiving/Birthday Party catered by the Uncle Bubs team in Westmont. It was delivered hot on the Friday after Thanksgiving day. Everything tasted homemade and absolutely delicious. The staff at Uncle Buns were super helpful and we didn't have to lift a finger during set up except to point and say please put it on that counter. We will definitely cater from them in the future and I highly recommend them, if you want delicious food. Their quality is excellent. read more

Outstanding food! Hits the spot every time!!! Great sides, especially green beans!! Love cornbread and Mac and cheese .

We used Uncle Bub's for a catering order for my nonprofit. They were great to work with from start to finish! Kristin was super responsive (even messaging me on her day off to let me know she'd answer my question when she returned) and made sure everything was covered. The food was great and well-received by our guests. We'll be repeat customers, no doubt! read more

Love the bbq place here. The food and service was quick. Great and fast. I loved the bbq pulled pork sandwich. Clean too!

This review is to tout the delicious Holiday Catering package. We got the smoked turkey this year for Thanksgiving along with the stuffing, gravy and cornbread (we try to do a little of our own cooking!) It was all amazing! The stuffing tasted like it was cooked inside of the birds, moist and flavorful, not dry and crusty. The smoked turkey was a huge hit, everyone was raving about the flavor. They have options for catering the entire meal or mix and match if you have some dishes you're famous for making but need some professional help to complete the meal. We would DEFINITELY use them again. They also have ham and prime rib meals for Christmas plus options for desserts. Check 'em out! read more

We've been here several times, and every time, a staff member comes to our table and follows up to make sure that we are happy with our meal. I like that they don't smother their bbq meat with barbecue sauce. There's bottles on the table if you want more. Although I like their various bbq, the pecan crusted catfish is outstanding. read more

Stumbled into this place yesterday while I was working in the area. I had the rib tip meal and the meat was super tender and flavorful. The hot sauce was mild in my opinion, but very flavorful. The cool thing they have is the great wall of hot sauces for some added heat. I had the habanero sauce and it hit the spot. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend. Great for larger families and groups. read more

Highlights were the pulled pork, sweet potatoes, potato salad, lemon chicken, herb chicken. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

Great food great service, people are awesome! Been going for years, great going to a family owned restaurant that tastes homemade !

Decided to have lunch at Uncle Bub's yesterday and it was a total mess. First of all it was 2:30 in the afternoon, place was empty, and it took a good 10 minutes to have someone wait on us. Received our order and noticed that we ordered the dinner but wanted the sandwich, so asked if I could get a bun, the waitress said yes but will take awhile. It was taking too long so went up to get it myself and the buns were just sitting in the counter. So by that time our bbq meat got cold, the buns were microwaved too long and got hard. Have to say the wait staff they have now weee some what rude, weee not helpful in anyway. Will not go back, was really good at one time. read more

Had choose 3 meat, ribs, burnt ends, and brisket with mac and cheese and cole slaw. The burnt ends were the best being juicy and tender. The ribs were a bit dry and the brisket wasn't too bad. Their bbq sauce is really good so helped eating the ribs and brisket. The cornbread was really good too. The mac and cheese and cole slaw isn't really special or different from other places. My husband got the mac and cheese bowl with pulled pork. He liked his dish. The peach cobbler was actually amazing and wasn't too sweet for a dessert. read more

I believe this is the best BBQ spot in the area. The best BBQ chicken I have ever had. Very tender and falls off the bone unlike any chicken I have ever had. Also have great pulled pork and brisket as well as generous sides. The BBQ sauce is also very good and they have other unique sauces for variety. The service and ambiance is very good, but if you are looking for something fancy this is not the place for you. The only criticism I would have is the inconsistency of their ribs. I have had ribs from uncle bubs that are tender, juicy and fall off the bone, but I have also had ribs that were very dry. Overall though I believe this is a great BBQ spot unless you are specifically looking for ribs. read more

By far the best ribs and brisket I've had. Not a speck of fat on their meat. It had the perfect amount of char without it being dry. Every ounce of meat comes off the ribs. Great sides and service, meal brought out to your table. We can't wait to come back! read more

I knew that Bub's had a chicken pot pie special tonight. My wife and I both ordered it. The dish was amazing. It is absolutely the best pot pie we've ever had. The crust was soft and not crumbly. The chicken was abundant and smoked. The vegetables were plentiful. To top it off, we got the pumpkin bread pudding to go. I think it's the best bread pudding I've ever eaten. The service was also very good. Two members of the staff asked how we liked our meals. I'm definitely returning, when the special is chicken pot pie. read more

I've never been a big BBQ fan and Uncle Bub's is the only place I've ever genuinely enjoyed the BBQ! I got the 2 meat dinner with pulled pork (no sauce) and grilled jalapeño sausage with mac & cheese and baked beans. I added their spicy BBQ sauce to the pulled pork and it was excellent! Hadn't been here in some time, but the same bbq fan and I came back for more while on that side of town today. If you can find your way back to the counter (helped by all the arrows on the floor), you'll be faced with their huge menu. The clerk was patient, and they actually have two ordering stations, which is nice if the line is growing. I got the pulled pork with sides of fried mac and cheese (not sure what possessed me; as my companion put it, it was basically "the carbiest carb that ever carbed") and sweet potato fries (upcharge but worth it!); also comes with a teeny loaf of cornbread, which isn't the best or worst cornbread you'll ever eat. Himself got several meats (fave was brisket; he wasn't wowed by chicken) plus garlic green beans and mini corncobs (particularly enjoyed the latter). Atmosphere here is, well, bbq joint. There was some pretty wangy-twang music when we first arrived; he wondered aloud why bbq and country music has to go together -- maybe someone heard him because after that the music changed to oldies, which was better. Overall, a good bbq lunch choice. read more
