I love love love Mission Taco and this is, by far, the best location. I have been coming here since I was in high school and it's always on my list of places to go whenever I come home to visit. The vibes are great, the food is delicious, and the drinks are strong. What more could you ask for? There's a big variety of tacos so everyone should be able to find something that they like. I always get a Fish Taco with the fish beer battered and fried along with whatever other king of taco I'm feeling that day. I usually go for the strawberry margarita on the rocks. Delicious! We came in for Taste of Soulard, and we were so happy after taking a bite of the most amazing taco. Bursting with flavor, so yummy. For the event, they were giving out the tacos from their truck, so I am not sure of the exact name of the taco. But it was so good, that we went inside to try more. The Mango-Hop-Anero Shrimp is my personal favorite, but they have options for everyone. Their chips and salsa for the table is awesome! It comes with 2 salsas, one mild and the other spicy ($4). Sat at the bar before a show at the Pageant. Took about 10 mins or so to be noticed, then ordered 2 margaritas and nachos right away. about 20 minutes later, our nachos appeared in the window... still no drinks. the kitchen manager let the bartender know the food was up, but still they didn't get it out. finally, after a half an hour, the ICE COLD FOOD ARRIVED. Still no drinks. We refused food, and they made it again. Finally got drinks, then another 20 mins goes by and the food arrives hot, but completely different from what we ordered. Soulard does have a different feel than there CWE location which is a bit more touristy. That one will reopen early next year. Strangely enough I do own a place in the touristy location and can walk to that one. However, I do see myself coming back here at times for a change. I simply love the concept, creative tacos. Depending on your appitite two to four are enough, especially if you get a side. I love the beer battered BLT taco, seem to get that every time and pick something new to go along with it. I went to Mission Taco on a busy Saturday evening. We started with the chips and salsa and an order of queso. I enjoyed both. The salsas were unique and the queso was topped with chorizo which added great flavor. I also ordered the Mission Margarita which was quite tasty. For my entree I ordered the Yucatecan Pork, Carne Molida, and Hot Fried Chicken tacos. The food took longer than expected to arrive but on a busy night it wasn't a huge deal. Our waitress was attentive and ensure our chips and drinks were refilled until our food came. Overall 2/3 of my tacos were excellent. I did not care much for the Yucatecan Pork but that may just be a personal preference. I would definitely come again and try some of the other offerings. read more

Absolutely phenomenal, base is smashed black bean with portobello mushrooms ofc, then some spiced arugula, some kickin goat cheese topped with the ever so perfect fried onions. It had the same refreshing taste, as if it had just been shaken behind the bar. Of course, I gave mine a good stir before pouring it over ice at home. I also enjoyed two of my favorite tacos, Hot Chicken and Baja Grilled Fish. When I saw that the to-go vessel held three tacos, I felt guilty not ordering a Portobello as well. My ride home is approximately 5 miles. The tacos were still as warm as, if they were carried out from the kitchen and placed in front of me at the bar. The process of ordering on-line was simple. I was out running errands and decided I wanted Mexican for lunch. So I drove over to Soulard, parked and ordered on my iPhone. After completing my order they gave me approximate time it would be ready and when it was being bagged up, they sent me a text message telling me it was ready. So easy and well organized. To make it safe for everyone they have signage up encouraging everyone to stand 6 feet apart while waiting for you order. They even took it a step further and have marking on the sidewalk for those who do not know the difference between 6 inches and 6 feet. Will I return? - Hell, yes. Erica was our precious sever. Very pleasant & accomdating. We enjoyed an array of tacos. Personally I devoured the Portobello sans sauce for the perfect vegetarian option. Listen. Low carb at Mission Taco is always amazing. I ask for a taco with no shell and I've never gotten any kind of reaction from a server, they are totally cool with it. But I have a new menu item! Keto/low carb-ites let's all order this and maybe they will put it on the menu! Carne Asada Fries, hear me out, on top of lettuce, no fries. I shall call it the Carne Asada Salad. Super complicated I know. It came out of the kitchen just as delightful as the fries, one side for Pico, one side for guacamole, I would recommend the cilantro lime ranch for a dressing, done and done. You don't even have to pay me for this genius, you could give me a free one if you want. If you can't tell, I loved it. I like this mission taco location compared to some of the others. Parking in Soulard is a little harder than some other areas- parallel parking required. I usually get the soft vegetarian taco and the portobello taco. It's okay, they used to have a great tofu taco option that they removed. YUM! Zero wait time on MLK Monday, but the place waS busy. We had an order or chicharrónes which were a special of the day and they were POPPING literally lol. It arrived fresh to our table and they were still popping. They were also delicious. We also ordered some margaritas which was good. The tacos were delicious, I had 3 (shrimp, chicken, and the special of the day which was like shredded beef) they were all delicious but I wish they were all serve on corn tortillas. I placed a small order online and I got a text that it would be ready in 5 minutes! Parking was easy or I got lucky, it was about 5 cars from the door. We were asked if we wanted chips and salsa, and said sure-- not being told that that was not complementary... but I believe $5.50+? So that was off putting... we did order guacamole and it was good. We each ordered two tacos, so four total: Shrimp (fried), grilled fish, pork, portobello mushroom. All were okay, but didn't "wow" us. All the descriptions and ingredients sounded great-- very foodie fusion. But they just all lacked something to be desired. Maybe a bit oversaturated with sauce for some, and not as flavorful as we'd like. But they were fine for a quick lunch. My son had the cheese quesadilla kids meal, with the esquite (grilled corn and cheese side). Cool building inside. Rocker, grunge, California fusion type feel they're trying to have here-- not an authentic Mexican food spot-- in case people were looking for that. This is different. Great tacos! Came here on a Wednesday night. I really like the variety in the taco options available. I ordered 3 tacos and the BBQ Duck was probably my favorite. The glaze was really yummy and the jalapeno strips gave it just the right amount of kick. The Baja Fish was pretty good, the chipotle baja sauce was the highlight. Let me start with the good. They have a handful of great vegan options and vegetarian options that you won't find many other places in this area. My wife loved the vegan soft shell tacos: they had good texture flavor and each of the ingredients added to the taco well. I had the vegan burrito which overall was pretty good but was just missing something. I liked the vegan meat they used but I think that it could have really used some sautéed vegetables, crunch, and/or good hot sauce. Overall the atmosphere was just okay but the service was good. Recommended by a co-worker, I'm a bit of a taco snob so I have high expectations of any taco place that I go to. For it to meet that benchmark, you have to have a variety of meats and flavors, there has to be a couple of available hot sauces, and you have to have a dope margarita. I gotta say, Mission really came through on all three. Who woulda thunk a taco joint in St Louis would be pushing such good product. I started out with the hibiscus frozen margarita; you add any flavor to a margarita and the sugar index usually goes through the roof. Not the case, the margarita still had a balance of sweet and sour. I had another margarita afterwards just to test my theory and I was just as pleased the second time around. For the tacos, I got grilled fish, shrimp and mango, duck, fried chicken, beef brisket, and carne asada. For those keeping track at home, that's 6 tacos. Yes, I'm a glutton, but the tacos are more street than Bell, so you can put down a bunch and not feel too bad about it. Plus, who knows when I'll be back!? I could tell that they don't make a bad taco, but my favorites were the fried chicken and the mango and shrimp. The fried chicken taco managed to be a juicy chicken tender with some cilantro and salsa. Great flavors that really went well together. As for the shrimp taco, I normally don't like mango in things, but it added texture to the shrimp and gave it this really awesome sweet and savory taste. Plus, the service was attentive and the bartenders were both pretty cool and chill. That's all you really can ask for right?!? Serve me and let me eat. So is this place like the taco stands in Miami or San Diego? Hey, it's all relative, but this place is really as good as it gets for tacos in St Louis, so if you're in the area, and it's taco Tuesday, you know what to do. My friends daughter is attending Washington U. So we decided to try something close to campus that had vegetarian friendly choices. We order the Mexican Street Corn Fritters, Sweet corn "Off the Cob" and Fries for the table. I had the Mushroom Quesadilla, my niece order the BBQ Duck Taco & Baha Fish while my friend has the soy tacos. Now I'll be honest, the sharable side dishes were delicious!! We all were enjoying them so much and were equally excited for our main dishes to come out. My mushroom quesadilla was a bit on the soggy side but flavor wise it was good. Wished the tortilla could've been grilled to make it more on the crispier side. My niece said the BBQ Duck taco was amazing and could've ate 3 or 4 of those and probably would just order them next time and pass on the fish. The Soy tacos had a lot of heat so the flavor was good but less heat might have made them great! Tried the mango habanero and Baja tacos which were both delicious! The street corn was off the cob which made it easier to eat, also pretty good. However, the chips and salsa are easily a hit!
