The Bellwether is the perfect spot for a date night with the wife. It can get busy, and seating for larger groups is limited, so I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. Their patio is fantastic when the weather is nice and creates a charming, upscale atmosphere. That said, the interior is just as inviting, with a romantic and moody ambiance that makes for a great evening out. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Our server, was friendly, knowledgeable, and offered great recommendations throughout the meal. You can tell the owner and chef take pride in creating a memorable dining experience. We started with the garlic herb fries, which were packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. I also ordered the classic Caesar salad, and it was authentic, fresh, and perfectly executed. For my entrée, I chose the strip steak, and it was outstanding--easily one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Delayed Mother's Day brunch by a week since we were too slow in making reservations. So glad we still went! Our reservation time was also opening time, 10:00. The parking lot had spaces available. We walked in and there was an event space on the right and a large sofa and chairs against the back wall. Signs indicated where to go for Bellwether so we went around the windows showing the climbing wall to the elevator. Upstairs we were greeted promptly and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. We opted for inside and she led us down one level to the second floor. I think the building is really cool, and the restaurant is well appointed, exposed brick, cool lantern hanging lamps, bookshelves filled with books and odds and ends, Waitress was friendly, there were only a couple of tables on the floor, but she wasn't intrusive and let us take out time. It filled up more by the time we left. The menu had several things I wanted to order but ended up deciding on the breakfast fried rice. We also ordered the cinnamon roll for the table. Coffee was hot and kept refilled, but it was just ok. The cinnamon roll was tasty. The fried rice was great and the fried egg on top was well cooked and tasty. One of our party ordered a side of sausage, it was four links and they were good, another ordered the pork belly sandwich and that was one of my other choices, I tried it and was impressed! The menu follows right along with their creative, seasonal, and whimsical creations. I was here was a very last minute planned birthday gathering after a series of unfortunate events leading up to my birthday kept planning from happening sooner. There were only 6 of us, but they still made sure the dinner was spectacular and special for my birthday. This is a very cute restaurant and gives you nice cozy vibes! Service was fast and efficient, which was nice for brunch. It wasn't too busy that morning. They also have a lot outside which makes parking very convenient. They have a pretty good assortment of options for breakfast and they had a special of a brunch burger, which someone in my party really enjoyed. I tried a tomato basil omelette which was OK. We sat at the bar and it was 4 flights to get to receptionist and 2 more or the bar...and I'll say we were not ready for that at all. But it was worth a nice like hike up and back down for the brunch. The menu was unique but had plenty of amazing things on it too. My husband brought me here for our one year wedding anniversary & it did not disappoint! The food here is incredible. I loved the mocktail options since I don't drink, I got "where the sidewalk ends" & it was so yummy! The garlic herb fries were crispy, I loved the lemon on it. What rock have I been living under? Came here with a friend for brunch on Sunday around 11am. I made a reservation on Thursday night and they called Saturday to confirm and let me know that the elevator was down and that it would be a 5 flight stair climb. When I arrived I was greeted by a cheerful host and my waitress Camyrn was nice as well. They mentioned a few options and I settled on the biscuit and gravy with soft scrambled eggs and potatoes. I had an orange that was good too and there are free refills on that. The biscuits and gravy was the star of the show. The cheddar biscuits is different and pairs well with the gravy. Fantastic family baby shower brunch at Bellwether yesterday. The food was delicious! I was too distracted to take pictures but we had buffet style with scrambled eggs (they were cooked perfectly), giant fluffy biscuits, fresh fruit, two types of sausage, two types of gravy for the biscuits, roasted crispy potatoes and waffles! Coffee was awesome with all types of cream, juices and soda. The two ladies running the event were lovely and accommodating. I was very satisfied with my experience at the Bellwether. I have only been here for brunch in the past, so this was the first time I've experienced their dinner menu. I started with a cocktail that was lovely. We also ordered the wagyu bruschetta as an appetizer. Overall, it was good, but the flavors clashed a bit. However, the entrees blew us away. I ordered the pan roasted duck breast. Typically, I do not like duck but this was amazing. The exterior was crispy, and the crispy herb gnocchi was a perfect complement to the rich flavor of the duck. Our waitress was kind and attentive. We initially picked another place but due to unforseen circumstances we had to quickly choose another location. It was 6 of us, The Bellweather was able to accommodate us. What a beautiful day for a nice brunch! I came here on Sunday, 8/3, to celebrate our friend moving with some friends. We had a late reservation at 1:30 and while we initially sat outside, we decided to move inside. Our server was stupendous in every facet. He was extremely attentive, never letting our water get too low and always there for anything we requested. I came in quite famished and went with the farmers breakfast and talk about bang for your buck. Drink wise, I went with the blueberry lavender sparkling cocktail. It wasn't long before our food came out and it far exceeded my expectations. The eggs were fluffy, the potatoes were seasoned and a lot better than expected and best of all, the turkey sausage was some of the best I've had. WELL! When pulling the Bellwether up to do my review, old pictures showed up! I knew I'd been there before, but I didn't have a review, so decided to go again. This time with a group of 5 of us. The Bloody was very tasty, though not dressed up very well IMO. I ordered the Farmer's Breakfast (over easy, turkey sausage and biscuit). It was all DELICIOUS! And more than I felt I should eat in one seating... Somebody talked me into ordering another cocktail that I can't find on the online menu. Something with rye.... VERY tasty! I made reservations on their website and was able to get a slot (reservation was made on Saturday evening). We were greeted immediately after stepping off of the elevator and were led down some stairs to our table. I didn't know they had another floor. The brunch space was very classy. The room was bright and looked like a library or study; bookshelves lined the walls with interesting and amusing books. We both started with a Bloody Mary. It was good. Nothing special but good. I ordered the Florentine Benedict and my husband ordered the Bacon Fried Rice with an egg over easy and a side (small plate) of biscuits and gravy. The Benedict was delicious. The eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. The best I've had! Let's talk about those smash fried potatoes. They were amazing! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yummy!! The Bacon Fried Rice was very good as well and a fun take on a brunch dish. Now the Bs & G, I was a bit disappointed. The gravy had too much flour and was under seasoned. One bite was enough. Very underwhelming. I will say that the portions were very generous and priced very well. We left stuffed. For me, I like that they serve theirs is a classic martini glass. I am not a fan of the stemless martini glasses. My martini was very refreshing. All the bartenders at The Bellwether are masters of their craft and make amazing cocktails. As my appetizer, I had to have the Brussels Sprouts. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am addicted to Brussels Sprouts. If I see BS's on a menu, I've got to have them. Many times, I will order them as my entree and these tonight could easily be an entree. They were absolutely delicious. The blend of smoked shallot ricotta, lemon, garlic, capers and aleppo pepper, had my taste buds dancing and begging for more. The service is top notch. Brunch at the bellwether was super solid. We had great service on a reasonably busy saturday. They were not jammed up, but certainly full. Despite being busy, our waters stayed full, as did our stomach's. We were fortunate to enough to get the last cinnamon roll. It was beautiful. Fluffy, light, the cream cheese frosting was so rich, and the pistachio crumble gave just enough texture without overpowering. We likewise got some biscuits and gravy as well as an omelette. The biscuits were solid. A super buttery crust gave the biscuit a great crunch. The gravy was great as well, especially paired with a runny yolk of a poached egg. The omelette was awesome also. Stuffed with bacon, canadian bacon, pork sausage, turkey sausage, and peppers. The omelette was prepared well and every meat offered unique flavor and spice. The potatoes were solid as well, some crispier than others, but still good. The seasoning blend I really enjoyed. Salty with some paprika and other spice. I was here recently on a Saturday night around 7 and the place was empty. There was no one at the bar tables and only a few tables in the dining room. We were one of the few couples who were sitting at the bar. This was only my second dining experience here. Honestly, my first visit the bartender was not very attentive. He spent most of his time at the end of the bar, chatting with other employees. We constantly had to ask him for things. Luckily this time, the bartender was much more friendly and attentive. Our food was decent, aside from the ice cream on the brownie looking more like tapioca. Not sure what happened there. While we were there, we observed several parties standing at the front, waiting for tables, yet employees walking past without greeting them. Even what looked to be a manager took notice, yet didn't take any action. Also the bathroom was really dirty. Especially the mirror in the women's bathroom. Overall, I'd go back hoping for a more elevated experience. I hope they can step up their service and cleanliness so they can get busier and stay open. It's such a cool space! read more
