First time in a Sephora store. Looking for a simple lipstick or gloss for a special event. The sales associates were not helpful at all. I showed a picture to give a better visual of what I was looking for. Neither of the sales associates bothered to help me find what I was really looking for. She offered one suggestion and that was it. I asked another associate for help and she brushed me off as well. I don't know the protocol in the store. Is the goal to help newbies? Or is Sephora the go to for seasoned make up wearers? I left out of there frustrated and still no product to wear for my event. I've worked in retail and you can tell who's a newbie and who isn't. Uggghhh male employee ruined my bday. Cane in for my bday freebie and he says they dont have any birthday packs at the moment so I can either add 250 points to my account or wait for products. When I asked him how long could the wait be , in a very non caring tone" I dont know, maybe the end of the year, just dont know." Great to finally have a full sized store nearby. They have Apple Pay and don't forget the 3 free samples. It was packed today (weekend) so be prepared to find parking. I wasn't able to find a foundation shade but a sales clerked helped me ASAP and I was able to walk out with everything I needed. A fave is the perfume wall. Or the fact that one is able to try on just about anything prior to purchase. I love love love Sephora. read more

There is also curbside pickup! I preordered and was able to pick up and pay at a table that is set up at the door. Sadly i did not know i could just walk up as there was no sign and employee was not asking so i waited in line and then found out i could have walked up to pick up and pay. I picked up my order on November 6 2022 with a bad experience. No sign for an online pickup area in the store. I was waiting in line to pick up my order and the lady tell me to go back to the front of the door. She already will let others sell person will help me out in the front. I AM DONE WITH SEPHORA AFTER BEING A PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER for 20 years. GO TO ULTA INSTEAD!!!! I have been a Stylist for over 35 years and shopped at Sephora for myself and MORE THAN 1000 CLIENTS for about 20 years. My client base is SF Bay Area and Southern California. As such I've taken clients to numerous Sephora locations. The service and makeup instruction was stellar for about the first 14 years. Over the last 6 or 7 years the service, buying, (stock replenishment), makeup services and policies have done nothing but GONE DOWN HILL. The last few years I've had numerous clients that have had bad experiences with service and 'makeup service'. Additionally, one of the products I've used for several years and is very popular is only stocked about every fourth time I go in the store to buy it. Being a 'Color Specialist' I always buy makeup in person, not online. Due to the fact this product is seldom in stock I buy two when they have it. Recently I used the second one I purchased about six months ago. It was a high end brow whiz product about $40. The 4th time I used it screw out brow whiz broke about half way down inside the plastic applicator. I went to the Veranda Sephora to replace it as it DID NOT PERFORM PROPERLY. I was told by the manager, Tiffany, there was nothing she could do because it had been purchased more than 60 days ago. It had been purchased more than 60 days ago due to the fact that the buyers clearly DON'T KNOW what they're doing since it's out of stock 75% of the time!!! That tore it for me both personally and professionally. I AM DUNNNN. As of today, going forward I will only be buying my cosmetics at Ulta which has more brand choices and now better service than Sephora. Additionally the buyers KNOW HOW TO KEEP PRODUCT STOCKED! If they're out, they will send it to you free of charge, and if it doesn't perform they will replace it or refund your money. SHOP AT ULTA. read more

This review is for Tiffany and if there's more Tiffany's there then this is for the Tiffany with the glasses... hopefully there's only one, because she seems like one of a kind. Im not afraid to admit, I dont enter Sephora locations often... I think I can count on one hand how many times I've walked into one but this particular visit I was looking for lip scrub and face wash, the kind you want to pay an absurd amount of money for instead of just going to Target. As soon as I walked in Tiffany took me to the lip scrub and gave me suggestions. She was very confident in what she was selling me and I believed everything she said. Next we discussed face wash, she asked me what kind was I looking for and TBH I wasn't aware there were so many options but she talked me through it and made a suggestion I didn't hesitate to buy. The parking on the weekend is ridiculous. Don't even try to come here. You will be angry and frustrated and swear a lot. The store itself is fine. It's smaller than most Sephora stores, but still relatively well stocked. Staff were pleasant and helpful. My return went without issue and I was able to buy the products I wanted. I am not a huge makeup wearer just the basics to nothing really but I stopped in here with my sister looking for a primer and translucent powder. We walked around for a bit trying to figure it out ourselves. We got hello's from the workers but no one offered to help. Finally we asked for help. The girl we got was suoer helpful! She asked a lot of questions to find out the reason she wanted yo use it for, her skin tyoe, her normal routine and some other questions. She had a few options for each item and went over them and their pluses and minus. We ended up leaving pretty happy and hopefully perfectly tailored items to her! read more

No complaints about this Sephora! I'm so glad a Concord location opened, so that I can gleefully avoid the Walnut Creek store. A single large and dedicated parking lot in easy walking distance, far friendlier employees, great organization and layout. Anything I could gripe about fits pretty much every Sephora you could ever go to - yep, lots of high priced items. Check, lots of very pretty and mildly snooty employees. And 100% packed with lots of annoying young people, their target demographic, standing around playing with makeup and blocking the view of the serious shopper. I love Sephora but this one is not a good location. They have security at the door. You'll be followed around and you're not allowed to touch anything. You have to state what you're there for before they let you in. Basically, it's a very unwelcoming feeling that you get going in there. They might as well tell everyone that tries to enter to go home and shop online. When you do want to purchase something, you must wait for them to be done standing around. They don't seem to need the amount of employees they have as most seem to be walking back and forth or standing around the store trying to look busy when they only have 2-3 people in their store and no one in line. read more

Where to start?! I'm a longtime Sephora client. I love all Sephora's- mostly due to their customer service , cleanliness and high-end selection. My daughter Sophie who is 9 has gone with me on many of my shopping trips and for reasons of her own (staff letting her get lip glass samples, staff letting her try on pretty pink shadows, etc...) she has fallen in love with Sephora as well!My daughter turned 9 on Nov 29th and instead of a birthday party I thought it would be fun to take her best-friend to a Sephora for mini makeovers! I contacted Ayshe at Concord Sephora and instantly was put at ease that this would for sure be Sophie's most memorable party ever! Not only did Ayshe respond promptly to my e-mails- but she allowed me to text her and once even face-timed so I could see some of the stuff I was buying for the girls' goody bags! Pre-Arrival: For a few weeks I was in contact with Ayshe about things she was willing to help me with. For instance she set up balloons, dishes of candy and plastic champagne flutes n& sparkling cider. All at my cost of course. We discussed goody bags and timing. I was beginning to look forward to it more and more! I got text messages clearly stating the time we should arrive. It was professional and organized. I was 100% at ease. Arrival: The new Sephora store is stunning! I was greeted instantly and shown to our stations. JoJo was there waiting and helped get the girls situated. We talked about what they wanted and she set out to pick out colors. The girls were in heaven! Ayshe was there with iced apple cider and treated the girls like royalty. I left JoJo to it and went to walk around and shop. Everyone was so kind and helpful and I had a few samples made up and bought a fe things for myself. I checked up on the girls, took photos and watched them smile the whole time ear to ear! Ayshe was a constant during this event. She made sure we had what we needed. Her staff was full of positivity, energy and an eagerness to help. When it was time to leave Ayshe presented the girls with their goody bags she had put together and the girls were on cloud nine! The location this Sephora is in is so pretty. It's surrounded by restaurants and shops. It's especially lovely right now during the holidays. I highly suggest visiting Sephora (ask for Ayshe or Jojo! They are wonderful!!!) and walking around the shopping center- eating and doing your christmas shopping! This was the birthday to remember, all thanks the Concord Sephora Diamonds! What I initially came in for was my birthday gift. When you sign up to be a Sephora beauty insider you get a free gift during your birthday month. You usually get two pick between two different options. I got to choose between a moisturizer skin care set or a Kat Von D set of samples makeup. I went for the Kat Von D because I have heard the rave about her powders and highlighter which came in the gift. When I came in I was looking for a couple items that I have been wanting lately. I watch YouTubers and they recommend different beauty products so I wanted to come and see what I liked and what would work for my skin. I was looking for a primer and translucent powder. I was walking around for a bit before I approached a employee for help. Usually when I come to makeup stores I always feel like they don't want to help me. However once I made the first move the lady that worked with me was very informed on the different products and brands. I wish she suggested products that were not as expensive but I understand she's trying to make sales.... and I still bought it so....haha. However I did buy the products I did because they were such great formulas that were clean and light. If you are looking to buy less expensive makeup I would go to Ulta or CVS. Don't forget more expensive doesn't always mean better quality ‍. I ended up with the too faced primer and the Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder. This Sephora is not the best when it comes to customer service, dare I say helping people of color...? Every time I walk in the door I am never greeted, when I need assistance with a product I am always handed off until someone wants to help me, they never have anything in stock and the list goes on. There are a couple people in this location that have gone above and beyond ... At the moment I can only remember Sabrina who has made an effort to really help me after her coworkers tossed me to the side. With that being said I try my best to go to the Walnut Creek location or the Sun Valley Mall location because I have always felt accepted when I shop there. read more

I would give zero stars to this Sephora location if I could! I was so excited to see that a full Sephora store was opening closer to home, but this store has been nothing but disappointing every single time I've visited. As an experienced Sephora shopper, I always check in-store availability online for products I want before going to the store, but for some reason, this Sephora location NEVER has anything I'm looking for even if their website says they do. I get it, the website's in-store stock info might be inaccurate sometimes, but EVERY TIME? And when I've FINALLY been able to get an employee to help me, I get the same answer: "we don't have it but we can order it for you". You know off the top of your head that you don't have it? You don't need to look? If I wanted to order it I wouldn't have come all the way to store...! I've visited this store more than once a month since they've opened late last year, but have only been able to make ONE purchase! I can't be the only one who thinks it's absolutely ridiculous that ONLY ONCE did this store have something I was looking for. Not only do they never have anything in stock, the employees at this Sephora are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. They never greet you when you walk in, never check in on you while you're shopping, RUN AWAY FROM YOU when you ask for help, and even worse, FOLLOW YOU AROUND THE STORE for no good reason and audibly talk about you to the other employees. In all my years of shopping at Sephora, I've never felt so uncomfortable and unwelcomed in their stores until I started shopping at this location. It's nice to see that some have had good experiences shopping here, but it's disheartening to see that others have had similar experiences as I did. This is my favorite sephora EVER! I always get the help I need and the customer service is phenomenal. At the others Sephoras, I dont get this kind of service. The girls here are patient, kind, generous, and do not make you feel any different just because you come to shop with no makeup on. I like how I can express my feelings about a product without having to judge me, and they really take the time to hear you out and find the products you need. Theres 3 specific sales associates who really make my experience amazing. Nothing but good vibes. I've made purchases, returns, ordered online in store (all hassle free)but what I love MOST is that of most of them smile and actually look like they love their job. Definitely a plus. The lady said she will help us in a few minutes but we waited for like half an hour then the lady came back just to say she has another client and be right back with us, as soon as she can. I went in to sephora with a coworker trying to help her pick out a couple products, Joeenee was rude and dismissive and didn't bat an eyelash in our direction. We were both curious about the same product so we decided to sample it, the woman who made my sample was kind and lovely but when my coworker asked joeenee for a sample she refused saying and i quote "your friend already got a sample of this" in a very rude tone. it felt like she was accusing us of trying to swindle her out of a couple stupid samples. It struck me as incredibly unprofessional and tacky and it showed her lack of experience and customer service, especially since i know her behavior is against Sephora's company policies and i haven't had an experience like that with any other Sephora employee. read more

I'll give you 2 stars for products. Your employees are either trained poorly or just don't understand customer service. Firstly to be open you are not allowed to have products that could be mistaken as testers available to the public...out for display only..smh. Secondly I was searching for a product and your employees were obliviously standing around and in the way...not to help but, just in the way carrying on personal conversations. Third I asked one employee for a particular location of a brand of perfume, perfume to my knowledge references female fragrances. She then proceeds to ask me for male or female. She condescendingly points me to the incorrect location. At this point I would rather be left alone to look rather than be helped. So another emp asks me if she could help again perfume, asks male or female. Look, train them to ask,"are you looking for yourself?" I'll give it to the second employee she got exactly what I wanted, so thank you. The cashier ..... if you train your employees to be condescending and pompous I'll just buy on line elsewhere. Brick and mortar stores need customers to go there if you treat people poorly they'll shop on line or elsewhere.
