They were both incredibly friendly, professional, and did a beautiful job. My daughter's makeup matched her dress perfectly and it looked amazing in all of the photos. Since this was her first time having her makeup professionally done, and she usually prefers a very simple look, they made sure everything was soft, age appropriate and absolutely perfect. Came into Sephora for one main purpose, to get Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in my shade as I heard it is the best for mature skin. My old one just was not working for me any more. I started with Nely who scanned my skin, wow on technology. She saw exactly the shade I should try right away. In the midst of trying my first shade, Maha, relieved her as it was her lunch break. I really wish she could've waited until she finished with me, her customer, first. It was just a bit disorienting for me to have to switch. Sephora carries a good variety of cosmetics. The problem lies in the service. This particular branch on Diamond Blvd has snobbish staff. If one walks in not wearing makeup or looking a certain way, the staff will most likely skip greeting you. And, no one will ask if you need assistance. I've been to this place a few times to know it's not coincidence. It's the culture. Other branches seem to do a bit of snubbing as well, but the Concord branch is the worst. read more

The person that assisted me was amazing and patient. She's an African American lady named Tywana (sorry for misspelling), I'd rate her service as 5 stars. However, there's this short Asian lady with another (maybe Hispanic) both employees who seemed to be following me and my friend around. They stood by next to every aisle where my friend and I go. They also looked away every time I catch them looking at us. Santa Rosa is my go to location because I'm from Sonoma County but I have never felt treated that way from the employees there even when I'm not dressed nice. Lastly, I could be wrong, but what are the odds of my credit card declining because I literally used it just few hours before that. I called Chase right after the store visit and they said they didn't have any transactions from Sephora. Maybe there's something wrong with their system but I got to use my debit card and it worked just fine. I always wait a minimum of 24 hours after leaving an establishment to write a review. I don't want my emotions to dictate what I intend to write. I was in town dog sitting for a friend so I decided to stop by one of my favorite shopping centers and favorite taco locations (Puestos). On the way, I dropped in to the Sephora (a few doors down) to see if I could exchange an item and ask about something I saw on TikTok. There was a negative vibe from the moment I walked in. The lady at the door didn't appear to be happy that she was assigned to be there. It took a long time to get assistance and it was clear that they had more staff assigned to following the people of color around than staff to actually assist customers with our needs. Eventually I was able to get assistance from Sierra who was helpful and professional But, by then there was already a bitter taste in my mouth so to speak. I did not take it out on Sierra. I also had the opportunity to have a pleasant conversation with Marina who was also professional. I've been to many Sephoras throughout California. I frequent the Folsom, Berkeley and Roseville locations. I think two of my favorite locations are Santa Monica and Santa Barbara. I'm glad this wasn't my first time in a Sephora store. If it had been i probably would not go again. I'm giving them three stars because of the professionalism from both Sierra and Marina and the gentleman (cashier) who rang my purchase up. I went with my sister and ended up buying stuff while I waited for her to finish. She wanted to speak to a worker and was helped within less than 5 minutes. I came in yesterday 8/12 and was looking for a tinted sunscreen, and Mershani (I'm so very sorry for the spelling google was no help) was sent over to color match me. When I tell you that I came in feeling like an old wrung out dish rag and left felling like myself for the first time in a long time I am NOT overstating it. The things Mershani did for my face in about ten minutes took years off of me. Whatever you're paying her, it's not enough. She's magic, she corrected the undertones I've been picking for concealer and foundation, she showed me how to apply the products properly, she showed me what a good setting powder is. I usually hate going to Sephora due to how many people there is and I get overwhelmed and triggered but it was a good slow day where I took my time looking all around the store which I LOVED. Robbie also made my experience feel so peaceful. He helped my friend and I finding things that we were curious/interested about. He also knew so much and took his sweet time trying to help me find a scent/perfume that matched with the base notes that I liked. I came in here and bought something so it must be fine, no? The store concept/layout has always been an issue for me, but I got what I wanted. I think it was something for my hair. But, I like coming here because they do have a conditioner that I can use. I forgot to get it at the Berkeley location and chose to take advantage of the fact that there was one in front of me to buy the conditioner that I needed. I appreciated the fact that I could find it from them. It could be that staffing was just low but the only Sephora employees noticeably involved were Security on entry and a worker playing security detail in the back. I loved that the perfume is now bolted down..but half of them were empty?!?!? And the one I was looking for was missing. I get it. It's a busy location and crime must be high. But it's sad that I only noticed one worker stocking and running the register. The line started to build up and a random worker came out of the back and she was harried and not kind in any way. Now I'm a member and I get email deals for my favorite stuff. I get coupons that you can only get through Sephora. Its so great and I'm the type of person that hates getting emails from stores. Picked up an online order so I don't spend time looking around for what I want because I had a few bad experiences with rude and unhelpful employees at this location. When I picked up my order I had a gut feeling to check the products while I was inside the store since I was checking out some items I bought as a gift which I had to bag myself btw after asking for them to seperate that one since its a gift to my mom. So when I did check my online order I found one of the product (a concealer) that had the package messed up and unsealed I knew I had to check the product inside and it looked like it was already used halfway through or was from the return bins so I asked them to change it but the front desk gave me a weird look like I'm asking her to give me free products or something and had an attitude walking to get a different one which was so ridiculous and outright rude!! I wouldn't have minded a broken packaging for a product if I wasn't going to use it on my face but that was just so careless and unsanitary for makeups to be given unsealed and seemingly used. So if you're picking up an online order here make sure to check the items in your bag because they might try to slip in an unsealed or used product in there. My little sister is just getting into makeup, so I opted to consult with an associate since my makeup knowledge is for full glam & I personally am not well-versed with natural/beginner makeup. Toni helped her pick out all the basics (tinted moisturizer, concealer, mascara, eyeshadow palette, brushes, make-up wipes, etc.. pretty much the whole 9!!) I make the drive here because the Sephora near me doesn't have alot of the stuff I'm looking for, the last 3 times I been here the employees look at you like if your going to rob them, they never ask me for assistance I had to go ask them they don't let me finish my question and they cut me off and say either give me five minutes or I'm busy helping another person, my boyfriend had to basically tell one of the girls we was waiting for a while and finally was able to get the product I was looking for, the cusomter service here completely sucks Unfortunately but they do have a lot of the perfumes and makeup some of the Sephora's near me dont have. read more

Got to the other associate and said I needed a tarte product but none on the shelf, can they look in drawers. She said I would have to wait until the line goes down. It's Monday at 1pm... 2 people at register, one doing an online order for someone else and 3 other customers needed assistance.
