An Open Letter to the Mistreated Reviewer of the Storage Facility on "Hyde" in Daly City. Dear Sir or Madam: It is with great concern that we read a review you recently posted on Yelp.com. As helpful as this website is to all businesses and their potential customers alike, we feel sometimes it is possible to make a mistake identifying the company one does review. We are sorry you were mistreated, but we have reason to believe it is not our company you were referring to; we found several indicators in your review that support our belief. We are Security Public Storage on Hyde Court in Daly City and the problems you are upset about seem to be concerning the storage place further up the street on King Drive. The Managers at our Security Public Storage location on Hyde Court have been there for over a dozen years now and I can assure you they are friendly, caring and professional people. Further, our company does send out monthly invoices (or can e-mail them) when requested by our tenants. Additionally, our "late fees" would be only $15 (not $25) on a storage unit of your size. We have a large, secure 3 story building with inside units and do not have troubles with "inside doors". As it happens on the weekends we do have some lady Managers at that facility and they too, have been with us for several years. I can personally attest to the fact that many of our customers have also been with us for several years and we have had and continue to have "compliments" not "complaints"; about our customer service. We never thought we would need to use a storage facility; we don't have a lot of stuff. But we forgot that not everyone in the extended family lives in this, uh, reality and in fact has stuff galore. A dear auntie recently awoke us to this profound truth when she announced she wanted to move into senior housing and needed to--yes!--store some of her household goods. So the search for secure, clean storage at a reasonable price began....and the search ended here! After taking over the project and researching reviews and ratings (thank you, fellow Yelpers), I decided to take a serious look at Security Public Storage. I am very glad I did! It really lives up to its name; it is a highly-monitored, well-protected clean place with cameras, security codes, and gates. It's set up very conveniently, too. You park in the lot close to the storage facility entrance, where a fleet of sturdy flatcars awaits you. You roll your chosen flatcar to your auto, load it up with stuff, and roll it into the facility to wherever your storage unit beckons. Very simple and very safe. Best of all, the Office staff is absolutely first rate.John, the Manager, is totally efficient, attentive to details, courteous, and an amazing multitasker. He promptly assists customers with their questions and requests and does so with lots of patience and pleasantness. This place is immaculate. I have never seen a cleaner facility in all my years. The managers here are Josh and Ashleigh and they are so friendly and helpful that I actually look forward to coming in every month to pay my bill and catch up with them. They take very good care of their facility and their customers. I have never once worried about my things being stored here. This place is very secure and everytime I am in the building, it seems Josh is making rounds, making sure everything is secure, and talking to all the tenants and helping them with whatever they need. The prices here are comparable to all other storage in the area, but the service and quality of this place blows everyone else out of the water. Don't believe the Public Storage lies about the $1 a month. They tack on all these taxes and admin fees, and then your rent skyrockets. I must say that I was intrigued by the way the staff had welcomed me to there facility. I was pretty much blown away by their Customer Service. Coming from a Retail Background I know first hand that customers are my number one priority and they had made me feel that way! This place is nice, clean, organized and very well secured. One day, I went in without having to put my password which I was suppose to, but I was in a hurry. Got to my storage and unlocked it, grab a few things and right when I was about to leave, one of the staff members came up to me and asked for my name and I.D to confirm that this was my storage. An alarm was sent to there office because I had failed to use my password to get in. I was impressed on how the security system worked. I'm glad my personal items are at a safe place. I'm not much of a review writer but "Travis L." got it right on the money so I'm going to requote his review......."There are very few customer service experiences that truly merit 5 stars, but the staff here at this facility really went AND GO above and beyond the call of duty in terms of customer service. We have always been happy with the way the facility is managed/regulated and the timely service for the actual unit and for payment." I've been renting a unit here for the last 4 or 5 years and have gone thru several different staff changes but ALL have been and always are very freindly and helpful, most especially John - YOU ROCK!!! The place is extremely clean, safe and, once again, the staff is INCREDIBLE!!! The rates are comparable to other storage companies but you will not get the same helpful staff and cleanliness this place has. read more

If you've never been to a clean, organized, well maintained storage with on hand staff, you're missing out from not going to Security Public Storage. Not only is the manager, John completely understanding but his assistant manager is extremely patient with all the tenants. Whether you've had a bad day or you're in a rush her temperament has always been calm and professional. There was one time I could not open the back door which is closer to my unit compared to going in through the front. I was in a rush and probably sounded agitated on the intercom. Evelyn came rushing to the back door to open it for me with smiles and apologies. So, other than the cleanliness and organization of this storage not to mention the extremely clean bathroom, the service is outstanding. Check them out before they run out of space! read more

I love that SPS got most 5 stars here on yelp. All is true, I so happened to stop in to see what was available. I had a bad experience with that other company, you know, the orange one that offers $1 move in. Tends not to be true. ANYWAYS I was greeted by a wonderful man named John. I instantly felt at home and knew I wanted to rent from this place. Not only is it walking distance to my current home, it is clean and everyone was so inviting. the prices are you get what you see, no hidden fees. I witnessed 2 other tenants coming in and John greeted them with first names as they are long time tenants. One big happy family. I snatched up the last of the larger units and moved right in. Something told me to turn into the little corner and head to the hidden gem back there. HIGHLY RECOMENDED. read more

Last year, it became evident that I would need storage for my household furnishings. I made an extensive search in the Daly City/San Francisco area. After visiting a number of storage establishments, I selected Security Public Storage in Daly City. I scheduled an appointment with John Garcia, the manager. From the outset, I was impressed with his professional & friendly manner. There was no "hard sell". I have been there long enough to say that there has been no change in John's approach. For a clean, well-lit, and very secure storage, Security Public Storage is hard to beat! The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I have been with Security Public Storage since 1985 and have been a satisfied customer ever since. Hand trucks are plentiful and always available even on busy days. The interior is exceptionally clean. No dust or grime anywhere. When it comes to security, Security Public Storage lives up to its name. The parking lot is gated and access is through a personal passcode. Inside, the units are alarmed to guard against unauthorized access by persons without a passcode. The current managers at the 99 Hyde Court, Daly City facility were very welcoming, personable, helpful, and knowledgable. From the clean and organized front office to the well maintained storage units, our experience was second to none. It was a very satisfying and pleasurable experience in the midst of a big move back to the bay area after several years. Our experience with Security Public Storage made it feel good to come "home" and it was nice to work with such good, down-to-earth folks. A very clean and well managed storage facility. Judging from two previous storage chains, Security Public Storage is the best hands down! On site manager John gave me a tour of the facility prior to rental. He took the time and open different unit sizes for me to gauge how much space I will be needing. I believe most of the units are indoors with climate control, and individually alarmed. The best part is cleanliness, handcarts are available for use by the functional elevators which is extremely convenient. This place is day and night compare to Public Storage, there are no hidden fees and the price quoted is what you pay. Check their website for specials and you will not regret it! read more

First off I have to give a shout out to John for being so easy going and asking me what I'm storing to have an idea of what size a storage unit I needed, overall really nice guy. The storage facility isn't 24 hours so I liked that because I've heard of people camping out in those other storage units. It's pretty well ventilated and very clean and they have dollies available to haul everything around which is nice. Overall I have to say that it's exactly what I needed, the cleanliness, the 12 hour window for access, and security is everything I wanted to store my stuff that I cherish but don't have space for. read more

I just rented a unit from this location. I was fortunate to meet and work with Desiree. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the units and has a great sense of humor. I kind of knew the size of the unit that I wanted. She showed me a unit that was perfect for what I needed. Before she had me sign up for that particular unit, she took the time to make sure that it was the right unit for me and offered to show me other smaller units. She made the process quick and fun. I have been renting from this facility for almost four years or so , and what keeps me stay is the excellent customer service this facility provide to his renters. The whole storage facility is clean plus the light and the whole environment inside are great. I pay my rent by calling on my phone, luckily a staff named John always answer my call. I've used security public storage in the past and always have had an amazing experience which is why I came back to use it again. It's places like this that make you earn a customer for life. My family and I have been storing our stuff here on and off for the last 15 years. We love this place for it's easy access, well maintained facility - they've done some major upgrades which is a big plus but they didn't really need too since the place was already in great shape as it is but it shows that the management here cares about their facility and the safety of their customers belongings. I rented a small unit at Security Public Storage as a temporary place holder when I moved into the city, but have found the location and pricing to be so convenient that I've continued to re-up the unit over time. It's an easy 10 minute drive out of SF and the facility is easy to get to, secure, and well-lit. They've got dollies for all of the heavy stuff and you can tell that the place is looked after by the way that it's maintained. I would definitely recommend SPS for storing clothes, ski gear, and generally anything that you can't fit in your apartment. Two Thumbs UP read more
