Normally have nothing but high praise for these guys - - for variety of services offered, helpful staff, convenient location - - but this one will not be so. Needed to ship a very delicate and expensive item to the East Coast; packaging advice and Ground Shipping price were excellent, but found out that the Insurance charge was almost 5x the UPS national rate. Apparently independent Stores can charge what they like for Insurance rates. In future, when needing to repeat this process, will likely ONLY have this Store package the item, if I don't do it myself/use another service; THEN I'll take it to FedEx, USPS, ..., for Insurance/Shipping. read more

Do not use this UPS Store for notary services. The notary's (who also claims to be the owner) notarization stamp will not be accepted by state offices. I had my documents rejected by the Secretary of State because they do not match to the state records. Total waste of time and money... not to mention that they refused to offer a refund for these defunct services. read more

On my first visit, a small plastic mailer was marked at $1.99 but rang up at over $3. When I mentioned the discrepancy, I was told prices had changed, though the signage hadn't been updated yet. I understand prices can increase, but I believe there may be legal requirements about charging the displayed price. On my second visit, the same mailer was over $5, and I noticed pricing was no longer displayed at all. I paid close to $70 to ship some homemade Christmas gifts across the country (ground) which never arrived at the destination. The owner of this location was extremely rude. They did not provide any information about making a claim or what to do. "I did my job, why should I refund you anything?" Happy holidays I guess? What a jackass I called UPS and they told me the UPS store should help me with next steps, and the owner here did not. So I'm totally lost a priceless package of homemade gifts and almost $70 in shipping costs? I asked if I should dispute the charge with my credit company and the owner accused me of "squeezing" them? But, the reason I'm updating this post is because of this... Last time I did an Amazon return using their location to drop off, they made me remove it from the Amazon packaging which wasn't opened before I got there and they gave me a receipt that provided me no way of tracking the return because it had a "reference" number instead of a tracking number. The receipt they gave me today had a tracking number, so I will be able to track the return. Thanks for changing your practice there. So, much better than the last time. read more

As a Pacifica resident for 25 years I have used this UPS store ever since. I am extremely appalled by the new Owner/Manager's behavior and treatment of his customers. I was unaware of the change in ownership until yesterday 9/23/25 when I went to do business. I experienced a slow connection and the individual who I found out later was AJ who was helping me told me to go out of the building and go into Apple wallet and take screenshots of the QR code . I said I never had to do this and he ARGUED with me that it has always been the case. He did not help me but merely dismissed me. Later, I found AJ is the new owner and I wanted to talk to him to express how I was dissatisfied with his rude and disrespectful tone and behavior towards a customer. He let me talk for a few sentences but said we were having a dialogue so he wanted to talk. He told me if I didn't like how things are to go a head a write a review and to leave the store , because I was preventing him to do his work at the same time he was rolling his eyes and tapping his fingers on the copier where we were talking . He refused to give me his full name as I wanted to report him to the corporate offices as he has totally ruined the UPS store brand. I have never in my life been treated in a rude, condescending, dismissive manner and I will not go to this store ever again . I will travel to South San Francisco which is miles away just to avoid patronizing this individual's business. Always great service and helpful people working here. I mostly come here when I have Amazon returns or shipping things on Mercari. On my last trip I had to return an expensive item from Mercari and the gentleman working there was wondering in helping find the right box size and safely shipping it back. I would much rather come back here then deal with Kohl's which took me over an 1.5hr to just simply scan a boxed up return and item for Amazon!!!! After many visits to this store over several years (due to its convenient location) i've decided to take my business elsewhere due to the attitude of its employees. Every time I go in the two ladies working the front are rude and have major attitude problems... sounds like a poorly run management would be the cause for their behavior. I've had really hit-or-miss experiences here over the years. After the latest, I've decided to take my business elsewhere, even if this location is convenient. It's not worth the attitude and nonsense charges. The employees here are unfriendly and barely helpful. (In my experience, this attitude usually starts with crappy ownership/management.) Also, they will nickel and dime you for every little thing -- $1 to tape your package (really?!), $6 for packing materials, $3 to print a mailing label. Then they will insist you pay cash. On my latest visit, I asked for help with something related to a delivery address and was told to contact UPS. I thought that's what I was doing? No, the clerk lectured me. This is a store. This place is such a rip off and the worst UPS I've been to. Service is not friendly, and they charge a ridiculous amount for everything. I needed to print a shipping label, and I was charged a $2.50 shipping fee on top of the $0.25 per page. Everyone there is always very helpful and there is rarely a line. When there is, people are helped quickly and efficiently. I have worked closely with the notary to understand and notarize difficult legal documents. Today I'd like to commend the outstanding service of Josephine, who like a super sleuth, was able to track down my notarized legal docs that hadn't shown up where they were supposed to be sent. I had no receipt, I had no idea how they were sent, I had no idea when they were sent, but Josephine patiently helped me track down, asking pertinent questions, and was able to find my package! Horrible attitude. This is during covid 19 pandemic. I put on a mask at the front door since the cashier told me to do so. Then the cashier said my mask is not good enough because it has holes on it. Well, its an old mask that I always wear for the past 3 months. It has a half inch tear in the middle of the mask. So I said no problem. I can just stuff napkins beneath the mask to make it a good mask. The napkin will totally cover up the tear. And the cashier said, "No, that's not good enough! You have to come back with a new mask." I asked him how come its not good if I add extra napkin beneath my mask to cover up the small tear? Other people can enter stores with a simple bandana. He just won't allow me to enter without a new mask. But I kept asking him how come I cannot stuff napkin beneath my existing mask. He just kept arguing with me. I know I did not break the law. The law says folks can wear a simple bandana as long as it covers your mouth & nose. People can wear homemade masks thats made with paper towels if they want. Then he finally realized his mistake then he tried to save his face by saying, "OK. You can take off your T shirt and tie it around your nose and that would work." So I started to take off my T shirt in front of the store. But luckily, a UPS man offered me a barnd new mask. So I wore that new mask and entered the store. Then I asked how come my T shirt is even better than my existing mask with extra napkins stuffed beneath it? The cashier just kept arguing insisting for some reason that won't work. Then the store owner came out and he was helping the cashier. He said he wants to ask me to leave because he did not like my attitude. Then he said I used faul language. I think I used faul language once. And he wants to change the entire subject into my faul language problem. I am sure this country allows free speech. I can say anything I want, even faul language. It was just a Amazon refund drop off. So I dropped the item off and they gave me a receipt. But store owner gets very defensive and basically told me to leave immediately. very bad attitude. Anyways, horrible cashier. He feels like he is so powerful because somebody tries to enter the store with an old mask with napkins stuffed beneath it. Just a narcissist who tries to tease his customers to make himself feel like a king. And the sad part is the owner totally supports his behavior. I see people wear bandana or even homemade masks all of the time. The law never stated that I cannot wear mask that has a small gap but with napkin behind it to cover up the gap. When you see this behavior, you know you spoke to a narcissist. He tries to convince the store owner that he is so right and customer is bad. But the truth always come out. Another one of those cases of disappearing Yelp Reviews. I know I have reviewed this local business before. Yelp, you're stating to irk me. Anyway, on to the review. I like this local UPS store for several reasons: + The decent packaging capabilities. + Good store hours. + No charge to drop off a UPS Package that is already in a state to be sent. + Ability to hold your packages for pickup. + Other services nice to use in a pinch . + The really are local. From the location itself to the people who work there. + Friendly staff who is always straight to the point of why I am here, and do not wast my time. + Other than restricted and fragile items the staff does no care what I ship. Trust me, this is a good thing when you want your private items to remain as private as possible. For all of the reasons above and more I will continue to use my local "The UPS Store". I cannot praise them enough for the number of times they have accommodated my last second requests. There are a few things I would like to see from The UPS Store in general. Such as ~ A UPS drop box outside the door, or a slot in the building for times when I arrive after closing and still want to drop off my package. ~ Ability to accept guns and ammo for shipping instead of being require to visit a UPS Customer Center. ~ Slightly better store hours by staying open to 7 PM during the week. ~ More reasonable prices on packaging material and labor costs. About the last item I want. Prices for materials and services are always a tough thing to swallow. But I do realize that many people think that UPS specific shipping should include the box and packing supplies at some magical price near to the shipping cost itself. But that is where the other part of the business to get paid comes into play to keep The UPS Store in Business. Certainly labor to package the item cannot be a free item either. In another sense I look at packaging popcorn the same as movie popcorn. It's expensive to the customer. It's low cost to the business. It is one of the things that keep the lights on. I may not like the prices, but I know the materials and labor will be available and consistent when I need to use them. Did you know this location is few hundred feet from a beach and a good cup of cappuccino? Check out the other local things around this place. Everyone here is helpful really, but we all have our favorites ;) If you need notary service, I suggest calling to make sure the times the notary will be in store. This through the challenges of unpredictable workload, panicking holiday-season customers, COVID and staff chages (rare). Efficient and friendly at the same time. I go in there every day and I have seen these people maintain their professionalism despite whatever else might come in through the door.
