There is a short Asian lady who seems to find something to criticize with every package drop-off. Recently she complained about an Amazon return in its original brown cardboard box, even though that is now the standard for many shipments. If a secondary box was used, I suspect she would say it's too large. Doesn't matter what you do, she will find something. This has happened multiple times to me. This is a horrible site. I asked the lady who owns this place to help me process several Amazon returns because it would take a long time to do them with the self service kiosk. I was hesitant to come by here because from the pictures I thought the location was in a CVS and I've had a negative experience dropping off packages at CVS. However, this is an actual, stand-alone UPS store. The store is larger than the one by Mollie Stone on El Camino. It was clean and orderly. There was another customer there who was being helped by an employee. I just needed to drop off a package, so I said, "Drop off" and she kinda just looked at me weird. Like I said, I was worried about the low ratings, but another employee came out. I wish I could just drop off my package but he wanted me to set the package on the scale? And then gave me a receipt. So that interaction was fine. At the UPS location on Edgewater and other UPS locations the employees are fine with you just dropping off the packages as long as you don't care for a receipt. Since the employee preferred for me to get a receipt and did not give me an option, this might be a problem if there are a lot more customers and you already have your package ready and then you need to stand in a long line just to drop off a package. No one wants that. But I can't say what will happen, but if it's the holiday seasons I might go to the Edgewater location. My favorite location is the one by Mollie Stone's but it's further for me. This location is conveniently located off of CA 92 and it's in a shopping complex on El Camino and Safeway is across the street. There is also a notary service. read more

HOW I WISHHHHH their security cameras had videos WITH AUDIO so I can put this employee on blast. RARELY do I review for non- restaurant businesses but when I do its REALLY good or REALLY BAD. Came on Wednesday 7/15 around 2:45-3:00pm. Employee had short black hair with glasses. Was just returning an amazon package. I politely said "Hi, just returning these amazon packages (2) today" Employee: ok Me: I was trying to pull up the QR code from amazon *took a little bit under 1 min* NOTE: There was NO ONE behind me. NO ONE. Her other colleague was helping another customer. Employee: *big sigh, puts down the scanner* (SPEAKS IN CANTONESE) "SO slow. Stupid AF (CHUN DO SEI 蠢的死) , so slow" LADY. FIRST OF ALL, don't assume people don't understand your language. SECOND OF ALL, SO uncalled for, SO unprofessional, FOR WHAT. I literally stopped what I was doing and starred at her because I'm just in such disbelief. I was biting my tongue so hard to not say anything back and be classy. I just left because I was just in shock someone could be that rude and just name call for someone pulling up the QR code. I didnt finish the return of my second package. Called corporate. Waiting for the store manager, Alex to call back. I mean , my dude, have you been paying attention to the yelp reviews? Its been constant 1 stars for the customer service for years now. Didnt think they would care. So I told myself to go back and stand up for myself and return the second package. She asked "Did you call corporate?" Horrible customer service. You would think that they will try to help when a transaction has gone wrong. I go in to find out why my package was not delivered when told. We pull up the account and the lady at the counter says it was delivered today. I check with the receiver and says it was not delivered, to then get the tracking number and check at home and it says she put in the wrong address on the label and it is being shipped back. Clearly, she saw that when she looked up the account and did not tell me when I was there in the store. When I asked the other lady for assistance, she basically told me she could not help me that I had to deal with her. There is a reason why there is no line at this store. All the employees are consistently friendly and helpful at this UPS location. Today, Alex went above and beyond assisting me in having a document notarized and faxed. The fax wouldn't go through at first, and he was patient in allowing me to check the number and contact the receiver to assure that it would go through. I was somewhat stressed, as it was an urgent request and he remained calm, friendly and engaged with me the entire time, while still assisting all the other clients coming and going. Very terrible experience at this establishment. We had to pick up a package here since we weren't home to get the package. The label said to come to this location. When we came up to the counter and gave her the information, she made it like we were crazy bc UPS would drop the package off tomorrow. The package was not there. We kept telling her that the label said it would be here at 5 PM. It was 5:30ish. She kept fighting us and told us to contact UPS. Uh, aren't you UPS too? But okay... We called UPS on the phone and the lady was very friendly. She said it was signed by Sally at 4:30 PM PST. It should be at the location. Can you guess who Sally was? Yep, the same woman who said the package wasn't there. We got back in line and told her, and surprisingly, she went to the back and grabbed it. Why did you not do that in the beginning? I had to return two items to Amazon. This has always been a breeze in the past: Amazon emails me a label, I print it, hand it and the item over to a UPS Store, and it's as good as done. Not this time. I dropped off the items with the Amazon label and QR code January 26. On Feb. 6, I noticed the items had not reached Amazon. Looking up the tracking numbers, it appeared the packages had never even left this UPS Store. I called the store and was told repeatedly that they didn't know what became of the packages, there was nothing they could do, and I should call UPS's customer service number. If the items I returned don't get to Amazon soon I'll have to pay for them, so I guess I'll spend my Saturday afternoon talking to the UPS 800 number...and never use this location again. read more

First I want to say I have been coming here for years. Always fine Alex very nice! He is professional and nice. Anthony has been good also. In seeing Sally over the years I have noticed she is a bit abrupt with customers. I usually hope I get anyone but her. Today I sent my adult son in to return three items because I didn't want to walk in because of a back injury. He went in and before he went in I had the items stacked in order and the scans numbered 1-2-3. The second one was the one packaged with no labels. The boxes clearly had the product names with the labels. She became impatient with my son telling him it was wrong and unpackaged the one I did and put another one in. (2-square jewelry boxes and 1-rectangular jewelry box). When my son came out he said she unpackaged the one I wrapped and put a different one in and said "read this..read this" to him. By the time he came out to the car for me to drive him to work he was all upset. She treated him badly. I called on my way home and she said he gave me the scans wrong. I said no. She said "have him come back in"...since he is at work I walked back in with my back-brace and a walking stick. She had them all wrong. I showed her..."look your own label has the name that should match with the product name on the box"...she kept saying "well that's how he gave it to me". I said I was in Customer service for over 40 years. It is your job to make sure it is correct..and not make someone feel terrible." Then I told her "you need to have more patience with customers, know your job and not try to make people feel like garbage...my son is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and you started his day off making him feel terrible"....then I left. Now going to do this review I see other negative comments about this lady. I will either go father to another ups store or if I go in there...only be helped by Alex or Anthony. read more

Quality of service needs to be improved, the information provided to the customer is not accurate.

Received a lecture about how I should not select their store as a pickup location. It takes them longer to find the package because they assume the address on the label would be the same as the one on my ID. When I tried to present my perspective of 1) one of the delivery options was to pick it up at a UPS store, 2) this item may or may not be expensive, and 3) I may not be at home at time of delivery, they still insisted that I should get the package delivered to my address and if I'm not at home, the delivery person will take the package to their store. Then I was dismissed. This doesn't match my experience where I normally find UPS packages left at my door. This unnecessary conversation soured the entire pick up. Otherwise, the line was short, I was helped quickly, and they found my packages relatively quickly. If there was no conversation, I would have had a very nice experience. Also, there was a second worker talking very loudly on their phone the entire time. This made it harder to listen to the lecture. read more

Wow, I can't believe all the bad reviews this store is getting. I have been thinking to myself how happy I am to have chosen this store to open our private mailbox because I have been super pleased with their service the last year. I come once a week to get my mail, every few weeks I return an Amazon item or a few at a time. They are always fast and efficient, friendly enough (sometimes not really friendly but cordial, sometimes really nice with a smile), always pick up the phone when I call. None of my return shipments have even been lost and I always get a receipt when I ask. My favorite part - I hardly ever have to wait in line! There's always 2 - 3 ppl staffed there at once which means the line is short. There is easy free parking too. I love it! I used to drop off returns at the UPS downtown and would always underestimate the parking meter time I needed because the line would be ridiculously long and I'd freak out about getting a ticket. My favorite part really is being able to drop by super quickly and get my business done in a couple of minutes. read more
