When I joined I asked if they have 24 hour access, as advertised on their website. This is important to my business because several times a month I need to pick things up at 5-6 AM and drop off after 11PM. I was assured they did. I was told that I could pick up a key on my next visit after joining. I tried knocking on the office door the next time I came in - nothing. I called and was told that I would have to come between 9 am and 11 am to get the key. The next week I did come at 10:15. Still nobody in. Finally today after calling three times with no answer, I was told that they are no longer giving out keys for afyer hours access, and are closing at 8pm. I dont mind that they close early, thats honestly what most storage units do. But I was clear when i joined that I was joining them specifically for 24 hour access, which i need for my business. They lied. Repetedly. Im out at the end of the month. read more

I dunno about professional, but Dennis is certainly personable. My unit is a bargain and I'm glad to do business a local business run by a real person who answers his cell phone on the first ring. Overall, I'm a happy customer, but: The units are not air conditioned or lit. They're just partitions in shipping containers sitting outdoors in a half-abandoned wasteland. No frills whatsoever. Also, Dennis doesn't send you bills or take credit cards. You have to remember to send your check to him at a PO box that's not listed on his website. (box 880367, san francisco, 94188) Great guy though. ALSO: GOOGLE MAPS LIES!! Sheehan Storage is at the far eastern end of Cesar Chavez where it hits the bay, not in Noe Valley. read more

Probably the best deal in terms of storage in San Francisco. It's located on the far side of Cesar Chavez, in an industrial area of SF. The price is affordable for San Francisco and the place is 'rich' in terms of personality. Dennis is a character and I've held my storage spot for a number of years and I plan to continue. read more

Going on a year using Sheehan storage, all I can say is that it's one of those places that preserves the character of old San Francisco - It's unpretentious, economical, accommodating, clean, and accessible 24hrs a day. Dennis, the proprietor, is affable and very professional. He explains things without trying to upsell, gives you honest recommendations for how much space you will need, and keeps the place running smoothly without drama. What he does not do is spend money on uniforms, banners, signage, or much advertising, near as I can tell. He seems to rely principally on word of mouth for his business, and that speaks well to the reputation he maintains. read more

Very affordable storage for under $100. Only drawback is that they don't do anything online. Payments are still by check. Otherwise cheap and close to my apartment. Very nice people too. read more

I have rented storage units at Sheehan on two separate occasions and both experiences have been positive. I love the location and how accessible the units are. The pricing is very competitive and Dennis, the owner, is an all around hardworking , good person. Its a small business, so if you're looking for a big box storage facility with temperature controlled units and entry gate key pad codes etc, this is not your storage place. If you want a reasonably priced, clean, safe and easily accessible outdoor unit then Sheehan Storage is a great choice! read more

I love this place. Dennis is a good guy who insisted we didn't need to get a larger unit because any one bedroom apartment could fit. He was right, we easily fit our stuff into the cheaper, smaller space. Yes, it is no frills, but for $110/month all of our things were placed safely in storage. read more

Good Price. Convenient location. Great Owner Denis Sheehan is a really stand up guy. I had a storage unit with him for 1.5 years and a boat trailer there for 6 months. Denis was quick to answer his phone and respond to my requests. The units are simple partitions in shipping containers. The location is all the way down at the end of Cesar Chavez. I didnt feel comfortable being there alone at night but that is probably just good common sense. I never felt concerned during the day. I highly recommend this as storage space. read more

Simple concept: old shipping containers. The one we rented was clean, and freshly painted inside and out. They all looked the same. Prices: lowest I found. Best part of the whole deal: Very nice owner named Denis. read more

If you're looking for a storage unit, this is the place. From what I researched, this was the cheapest and Dennis, like the other reviewers say, is a stand-up guy. In the year I stored my things here, I had no problems and would happily recommend this spot to anyone! read more

I have been using Sheehan Storage for over a year now. Dennis is professional and personable. There units are clean, easily accessible and the most reasonably priced public storage in the city. I highly recommend Sheehan Storage. read more

Have been a customer for nearly 4 years and Sheehan Storage is everything you would want in a storage facility. -Good location -Well maintained facilities -Units themselves are made from old shipping containers. Very difficult to break into. -The owner Dennis is responsive and friendly read more

Dennis at Sheehan Storage makes is simple, quality storage unit at the right price! He also keeps things in tip, top shape, with newly painted containers and excellent security with 24 hour access. I was referred to him by a neighbor and thought that I only need space for a couple of months, 8 months later, I still had my things there. He was kind enough to extend my contract with no questions asked or no hidden fees. Just the kind of business that you want to do business with! read more

2nd time for bay area and 4th time overall I've been let down by Yelpers since 2010. This place was not open (7 p.m. which is still listed on their Yelp profile) during the times advertised (when a 2.5 star rated U-haul in the city was) so I ended up not having time to find a 4 or 5 star rated storage place. I've rented at storage places in Washington D.C., Los Angeles and all throughout Florida, so it's a bit of a disappointment that San Francisco, California doesn't have the same hours most places around the country seem to. read more

My husband and I used Sheehan Storage while we traveled for a year. Our storage unit was clean, reasonably priced, and conveniently located. Denis Sheehan is so easy to work with and kind. We we definitely use Sheehan again if we need storage in SF. read more

First the downside: This place is remote and no frills. The upside: Denis is a class act and great guy. He is honest, professional and accommodating. Very highly recommended. read more

My husband has been renting a storage unit from Dennis for 8+ years. He visits daily to pick up tools for work and then drop them off before coming home. This place is not a fancy storage facility with temperature control and vending machines, so don't come in expecting that. It is down near the pier in a sorta sketchy area. It is well run, clean, safe, easy to access and very well priced. Dennis rents units and then leaves you be to store and come and go as you need. read more

Dennis has been awesome! We originally got a 5 x 8 storage unit, and we really wanted a bigger unit. When one came available, Dennis moved over all our stuff FOR FREE, and now we have a bigger unit for $110. DEAL! read more

After comparing a few storage places I found this to be the cleanest and most professionally and ethically run. I highly recommend Denis - he is a great, helpful owner. read more

I shopped all around for storage in SF and Sheehan Storage is the best place. The prices are reasonable and you have 24 hour access to your storage unit. Most of the other storage places close early and have shorter hours on weekends, which can be very inconvenient when you need to access your unit. The place is clean and well maintained and safe. Dennis, the owner. could not be more friendly and helpful; he will even help you load and unload! His assistant is great and the place is super easy to access. Storage companies are notoriously sleazy with slick contracts, rates that change, hidden charges, bad security, etc. Sheehan Storage is owned by a person and not a corporation, and gives you the best service at the best prices. read more

Dennis is great. The place is great. I called Dennis on the 2nd of the month (after I had sent my check) and told him i was hoping to stop using the unit but I still had some stuff in there to get rid of. He didn't cash my check for the month and got rid of my stuff for free. Dennis has been all around extremely helpful and made things much easier. read more

Dennis is a pleasure to work with.. incredibly accommodating and helpful. I had to get extra items delivered from out of town and and stored, and not only did he offer his POBox address for me to ship my items to, he also moved my items to the storage unit, and gave me a new key because i didn't have my original one with me - all at no extra charge. I don't usually write reviews after using products/services, but Dennis is really good! read more

WONDERFUL! Love is an understatement. Because I'm about to start grad school and am on a crazy tight budget, I had to call a bunch of places to find one where I can store my things for the year (my first year of school is abroad). If you're hunting, here's a tip: some will charge a large monthly fee, and some will charge a smaller monthly fee but with the requirement that you pay a large moving fee for their moving services. Sheehan, miraculously, charged a bargain price that beat out all the competition. Furthermore, they're awesome. Dennis is maybe one of the nicest people I've ever met. He brought a friend (employee?) along to help me move, who was also wonderful. Overall, the process was totally painless (dare I say "enjoyable?"). I wish I could give them ten stars. read more

Been using this place for almost 2 years now and am quite pleased. Got a huge storage unit for $110/month which is significantly less than those fancy-pants storage places. Units are clean and safe. If you go at night, just bring a good flashlight since there aren't any in the units. The location seems a little questionable at first but it's not as bad as it seems. Once you go a few times, you get used to it. I've never felt anything but safe and there's usually always someone around and usually I see Dennis working on something. Overall, a great place and Dennis was more than accomodating and honest. Highly recommend for storage when you don't want to pay an arm and a leg. read more

Excellent. Denis is a really great guy and provides an excellent service. He goes out of his way to help. I can't recommend him highly enough. I will definitely be recommending his business to my friends and colleagues. read more

Sheehan Storage is a great place to store your belongings! Very easy to get, very clean storage rooms, and hours of operation are super convenient. I checked a lot of places in the city and Sheehan Storage had everything that I need. Dennis himself is a great guy, very down to earth and very helpful. Prices are much better then most of the self storage places in SF. I had a awesome experience. Definitely recommend!! Thanks, Andrey read more

I echo the other positive reviews. This is by far the best deal on self-storage in the city. No frills, but it is secure, the units are clean, the prices are great, and you get 24 hour access. Dennis is also a nice guy. read more

Great, inexpensive storage. I didn't encounter any leaks or any problems. Long hours and after hours access. Drive up options. I would use them again! read more
