Apartments in San Francisco don't have much space, unfortunately. I needed to put some stuff into storage, but I don't have a car. Was I going to request an Uber X and shove x amount of boxes in it? Mmmm, if I had no other choice, then yes. Luckily, Boombox specializes in SEO, apparently. This was the first place that popped up in my search results hahah. It really checked off the boxes for me. Low rates compared to its competitors, and they offer a pickup and delivery service (with a fee, of course). I messaged them on their website and received responses in less than 20 min. I had no problem booking a pickup for the morning. Calvin was very responsive and helpful! In terms of booking, you can determine what size storage unit you need (which determines the monthly fee) + your pickup crew. If you need 1 person only, it's free. For 2 people (which is necessary if you have boxes 50+ lbs.), it's... $65 I believe. My pickup appointment was at 10am, but they arrived early at 9:45am! I love their storage van. It's like this fuchsia color. Their rules are very straightforward. Pack all items in boxes ahead of time and label the boxes. Pro tip: BE VERY DESCRIPTIVE WITH YOUR LABELING. Within 48 hours, I logged into my account and I could see each of my boxes cataloged. I was really descriptive with most of my boxes but I got lazy with two of them and I'm so mad at myself for it. I can't recommend Boombox Storage enough. I started using them in August 2020 (shortly after the pandemic began) and finally closed up my storage unit this month. Calvin, who was my main point of contact, was fast, super reliable, and always came back with an answer. If there were any issues (which of course, when you're moving, comes up occasionally), it would get resolved shortly there after. Whether it was getting things delivered, a somewhat more complicated ask, or junk removal, I knew that Calvin and Boombox Storage would have it handled. The movers/pick-up crew are always very friendly, reliable, and efficient as well. After a while they also start to remember the long time members. You'll be in great, great hands with them! From a cost perspective, things are very much reasonably priced and I loved being able to track all my storage items through their website (not to mention, the photos are always helpful!). Point one: you call their phone # and you get a recording "this number is disconnected" Point two: you email the business and some jerk named S Harris acknowledges your email but after repeated emails sent to him he never again responds. Boombox was a great service to use for the storage of my apartment items in San Francisco. Company takes good care of your personal belongings when transporting items. I had 2 Boombox folks come to pick up my belongings (a bedroom's worth of stuff). They were very fast but also careful with my things. Really like the system. Easy and simple. I moved to a tiny apartment in SF back in June, these guys came to the rescue. Helped me solve all my storage need. I honestly don't think I could have had a better storage/delivery/moving experience than I did with Boombox. I ended up moving out of my apartment in October, largely by myself, and Boombox was not only the cheapest solution I could find, but also by far the most convenient-- for $65, you can have 2 movers help move all your boxes into their storage van, and then they also take photos of all your stuff so you can double check on things online too. They were quick and efficient-- everything was loaded in about 45 minutes,-- and was much, much more convenient than a Uhaul or a self-storage option (and cheaper too!). Storage was just $135 per month, which was cheaper than the other places I found online. When I ended up moving back to the Bay Area a few months later, they were just as quick-- they arrived in a timely manner, moved all my stuff up within 45 minutes (onto the 3rd floor apartment!) and were nice, efficient, and polite. Moving and storing things is so stressful. Boombox made the process as easy as possible. Definitely recommend Boombox to anyone else looking to store their stuff (especially during the pandemic!) and if I end up moving out of state again, I will definitely book them again. read more

The site was easy to use and the crew was super helpful picking up our items from our condo and storage closet in our building. They are just starting their storage business (cool idea: flat rate to store item within a certain volume, so they can pick up/deliver it on-demand with these bright purple vans; no more self-storage), and to get their name out, they are doing moving jobs at ridiculously low rates. My girlfriend and I both used them to move from our separate apartments to our new place, and we couldn't be happier with the service, professionalism, and speed.
