I needed a book dismantled and spiral bound. Office Depot will do it for about $4+. There's a sign specifically declaring what the turn around time is. Binding takes 24 hours. I don't know why the other reviewer wanted their stuff done right away. The policy was very specific. The binding is nice. Deduct one star for the book being out of alignment before the clerk fixed it midway. Not a dealbreaker. Recently I had to look for a few electronic items, in those cases I was pleasantly surprised that Office Depot not only had them in stock, but also that they had the best prices. I used to shop at Best Buy for those items, though I'll shop at Office Depot from now on as Best Buy either did not have those items, or was considerably more expensive (eg Office Depot had a good sale for an older version mouse, whereas BestBuy still sold it for the original list price). Went in with the intention to purchase a visa gift card. I couldn't find it around their normal gift card area so I asked the cashier, where would I find visa gift card? The lady answered, whatever we have out here is all we have with an attitude. I said okay, thank you. But I continued to look for it around the gift card area thinking of possibilities that I may overlooked. Let me just say this- if you don't like working with customers then DONT work in customer service. I almost always go to Fedex office but as I was driving by I noticed the Office Depot shipped usps and I thought it would be great if I'd found a one stop shop to print out labels, buy packaging and mail it off. I walked into the side shop, asked the guy(large guy with glasses) if they were able to print from my email. He acted so annoyed that I had a question, bothered by my presence and uninterested in helping me. So, I follow his direction (pointing at a sign and saying, "email it there") and once I was done, I asked if I needed to print it from the copier or if he received it. I asked this because at FedEx it is done both ways and I had never been to Office Depot so HOW WOULD I KNOW?? But he decided to respond to me so condescendingly. Like I was supposed to know how things worked. I actually had to laugh to myself because I couldn't believe he was talking to me like this. Guess what Office Depot? I was going to ship my stuff through you guys regularly if this had all worked out. But instead, I'll just keep going elsewhere. A sign was posted that if you priced an item from another store and it was cheaper, whether in house or online, Office Depot would match the price. This was the note on the only available register. No other disclaimer listed. I matched a lower price by 12 dollars from Home Depot but due to a technicality, they would not honor the lower price. This was apparently due to it being a different manufacturer. Home Depot - Longer size cable, same product (cat5), cheaper price. No honor of posted price. This 1 star rating is given for the price of an item and advertised price match. The customer service was average and parking was easy enough. The store was damn near empty when I toured it. I did notice though that their inventory isn't as extensive as the Gellert one. I was looking for a certain kind of sticker label and I swear I was in that aisle for a good 20mins looking for it. I needed to complete a print order. Their website was not working, so they recommended I email my local store directly, which happens to be this one. I saw the low reviews, but figured I know my stuff about printing and maybe I could work around any issues. Correspondence was slow and a bit roundabout by email, but I understand they are busy. I had to go in person to pay for the order before they could start, so I did. I'm a pretty patient person and waited a while for the supervisor to get to me after a) cutting me off to help someone else who wasn't in line and b) picking up the phone after telling me to step up and have a long and condescending conversation with the person on the other end). I've worked with the general public, answering endless phone calls to customers/clients, I know the toll it takes on one's soul. I felt like this guy was on the edge of losing it but was to his credit keeping it together. I understand people have busy/off days, so I didn't care about waiting or the condescending tone as long as I just get my print order done. He finally hands me the proof. I had already pointed out to him that the online proof was wrong (the trim was off) but he just kept saying he would reprint or re-upload the image, which I know won't fix it if something is wrong. He just stares at it not saying anything. I can't tell if he didn't understand or is hoping if he stands there long enough 5pm will come around and he can leave. I repeat myself that the cut was not lined up with the bleed. He just didn't seem to understand what I was saying. Do you know what a bleed is? If you don't, don't work in a print shop. He turns his screen to show me the photo settings. I see right away that the size I used was wrong (even though I was told I could choose the size by another employee, but putting that aside). This guy showing me the proof couldn't even see that that was the problem, just stares showing me the proof with a blank face. Ok, no problem, I'll redesign the file so it's correct and maybe that will fix the bleed issue? I tried to pay for the order then, but was then told I have to pay after the file is uploaded. So I have to come back to pay, then come back a third time to pick it up. I'm afraid after a failed website, staff that aren't knowledgable, over a week to get to this point, and the inconvenience of having to run around town multiple times just to get one simple print order done, I moved on to another business. read more

My son recently graduated from Harvard and I'm having a formal party for him on June the 9th. I had 2 pictures printed out to be put on the cakes and I had some poster boards that I needed to have cut for my centerpieces. Don (who was as rude as he could be), told me it would be 75 cents for each cut. Fine. He then told me they would be ready the next morning. I said, I'm right here and I live in San Francisco and it would have taken him less than 10 minutes to cut them. He then said we have other customers in front of me. There was 1 lady being helped by the other person. He may have had other orders, but no one else needing a simple service at that time. Bought a chair on the floor. It had no casters. I have to call this number, it is a hassle. I have to wait for an email, my reply bounces back. Will I get the casters? Not sure. We ordered a file cabinet for delivery. I need to call and check on the status, I need to reschedule because we are out of town. That number is the biggest headache - it hangs up 1/2 the time. I needed to print some color copies on nice paper so I came here. The person in charge was very rude to customers. He was not particularly rude to me, but he was openly rude to this elderly customer which definitely rubbed me the wrong way. I also had to wait 30 minutes for 16 color copies. Also it's a little pricey at $.12 for B/W and $.79 for color - at least that's what I was charged. To those at the print shop, if I could give them all the stars in the universe, I would. I had a pretty complex booklet print job with a lot of custom parts and measurements that just didn't seem to go right every time we tried. And we tried for hours. HOURS. It was my first time printing out a published book so I wasn't sure how to go about it, but they were right by my side the whole time to make sure they delivered exactly what I envisioned. For those who helped me through those hours (Queana, Brian, and Arnel - I really hope I got your names right), thank you SO MUCH for taking so much time to make my book dreams come true. It was truly a journey getting there. From helping me choose the paper to trying to figure out how to print the spreads of my book, down to nailing the odd measurements and making sure everything was cut properly, they were willing to help me through it all. Even though it took coming in multiple times and spending multiple hours trying to get it working, I was so impressed with their patience and perseverance that I didn't even mind. The level of dedication they had towards getting it right was just absolutely phenomenal. And the result was exactly what I wanted as well! I preordered GermX online for pickup. I received numerous emails on product back orders and delays. I totally understand. The product is in high demand and businesses get it first. After approximately a month, I got a text to pick it up. Went there, waited at curbside, greeted, waited, no product. She was very friendly though. She got my order number, then returned and told me it was being shipped. I was not happy that I made the trip to the store. But, I was really not happy getting charged for shipping. I called 1800-GO-DEPOT. The representative was very professional. She gave me a refund on the shipping, no problem.
