What a great find for shredding! The folks here are so friendly, professional, and helpful; and the prices are outstandingly reasonable. It is so simple. Just drive on to the lot and someone will come out to assist and take the materials right at your vehicle. There's no need to go inside. Amazing customer service. Tina called me first thing in the morning after I left a message on Labor Day holiday. The truck was scheduled the next day. Driver called before he arrived. He completed the shredding and left in 15 minutes. I received invoice via email 5 minutes after he left. This just cannot be easier. What a great experience! Customer service was great- but the real story is how the service is performed. Our driver, I believe his name was Poncho, called first as I had asked, showed up with a smile (behind his mask) and a FANTASTIC attitude. I even had more boxes than what I had originally thought, but, he said "no problem" and got to work. Poncho was polite, and professional. In todays working world it is extremely hard to find an employee that just shows up for work much less an employee who shows up looking neat and professional. Poncho was all of the above and more!! Hopefully he is well recognized for his efforts. There are other shredding companies but, I will continue to use Shred Works because of Poncho. read more

#122/2016 Every time I glanced at my beat up desk I wanted to replace, I knew the first order of business would need to be cleaning out the two file cabinets underneath it. But the job was so overwhelming; I kept putting it off. I saw whole weekends wasted feeding a cross-cut shredder. And to top it off, mine died during my last enthusiastic shred-a-thon. But what if I could bag it up and have SOMEONE ELSE do it? Yahoo! (Why hadn't I thought of this eons ago?) Out of my closet I gleefully pulled a Rubbermaid tub of divorce documents, old tax returns, financial documents, you name it. I emptied out file drawers with an enthusiasm last seen when I was small on Christmas Day. Being flinty because it's cheaper if you come to them, I drove my haul to their Oakland facility though they will come to your home or business and shred on site. They had a skeleton staff on Saturday morning but someone came out immediately with a rolling bin to unload my car. My little boy and I went to a small room with video monitors and watched them empty everything into the industrial shredder. It saved me scores of hours and frustration doing it myself and saved me money too: To replace my broken cross-cut shredder would've cost $80-$100. Here? It cost $22, including a $10 Yelp check-in discount, to shred 140 pounds of documents. To translate, that's 5 grocery bags, 1 under-the-bed storage box and 1 giant Rubbermaid tub. Leave it to Shred Works and save yourself the frustration and wasted hours. I will never do this thankless task again when it's so much cheaper and faster to have Shred Works do it for me. read more

This is an A+ company. I booked on-site shredding at our storage unit. I was given a 3 hour window and they committed to call me 30 minutes before arrival so I didn't have to wait since it was not at my home. I contacted them via their on line "request a quote". It arrived very quickly and was good for 30 days. I called to book the appointment and the representative was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. On the day of my appointment I received a call from Angel that he was on his way and would arrive in 30 minutes. Almost 30 minutes on the dot he drove up. While I had organized the boxes, they had been in storage for years so not in the best condition. Angel quickly got to work pouring out the contents into a large bin. He removed any plastic bags and put the boxes to the side. A couple boxes had mouse droppings but he was not at all fazed. Within 30 - 40 minutes he had shredded the contents of 25 banker boxes. The old empty boxes were stacked back in the storage unit (they don't shred boxes) , he processed my payment using his phone and went on his way. Fast, easy and very convenient. Got there and was told, first thing, "our prices have changed" and I say... to what? and he says "$25 minimum" and we both look at the small bag of paper I have and I say "$25 for this?" and he says "yep"... and I leave. Really annoying. It would take, what, 20 seconds to throw it in the shredder? That's what it took last time I showed up with a banker box full and it was waaaay less than $25. read more
