I personally have had very good experiences at this USPS location. The people here are friendly, the counters are consistently well-staffed, and the line moves pretty fast. As others have noted, the one-way parking situation can be frustrating; not only is it a one-way entrance and travel, it's a one-way exit, in that you have to travel down the road for a bit before you have a chance to get to the middle turn lane and head in the other direction if that's where you're trying to go. Other than that, I definitely visit this USPS frequently, and am happy to do so compared to some other ones that may not have much (or any) parking at all, or that may be in a shopping center where both parking and the lines can get very crowded, due to the presence of other stores close-by. read more

The two ladies at the desk (blonde hair one I haven't seen before and the younger Asian lady) are so incredibly friendly and helpful. It's rare to get such nice treatment from a government service nowadays so for these two to be so considerate and patient on top of how nice they are is great. They are both very thorough and know what they're doing. I'm glad they work at my local post office, they make the whole experience so much better! read more

Came here to get my son his first passport. Unfortunately, one of the notarized forms was messed up by the notary and Travis said he couldn't process the application without a newly completed form. He was still able to get everything else processed and took my son's picture and just told me to come back the next business day with the correct form and he would hold all my other documents for me. I didn't have to make another appointment - when I arrived the second day, I just knocked on the door and he ushered me in and finished my application. I've come back into the post office since and can say that my experience is average - not bad, but not spectacular either. The associates that work here are well trained in their jobs but don't seem to particularly care about going the extra step in how they provide customer service. At the end of the day, this isn't the most important thing, but just something to note. read more

This establishment is an absolute nightmare. The phone line has been disconnected for months. I've been waiting on a package that was supposed to be delivered 2 weeks ago. It was a standard delivery and didn't require a signature but it was marked at rescheduled delivery due to "No authorized person to sign" the employee most likely ran out of time and just marked it whatever so he could finish his shift. Even after I've scheduled a redelivery my package still has yet to move. There's some shady practices going on in this branch. As of writing this I've still yet to reach a resolution to this major issue. read more

I never expected a Post Office across the street from Lowe's. While I have somebody shopping inside Lowe's I can go across the street to drop off my letters at the Post Office. I only stop by this location once. It was busy when I stop to drop off my letters. The line to get a booklet of stamps was reasonable. I didn't wait more than five minutes in line. Came here today at 4:30pm and had no line. There was plenty of parking space up front and this location is clean. Staff were very nice and assisted me quickly. I had a package to return so they scanned it and provided a receipt. I would recommend this place any time! read more

This place is a logistical disaster. No one ever scans anything, even when you wait in line and hand it directly to them. The self-serve box is almost always locked up and inoperable. The strangely one-way parking lot attracts the absolute stupidest, most illiterate people from the surrounding neighborhood who do not understand that idling for 15 minutes and blocking everyone else from moving is not worth getting a space that is two feet closer to the door. The employee parking lot is quite spacious by comparison, and there is never more than four or five people milling around behind the counter so I'm not sure why they think they need that much real estate. It is truly a miracle that they keep this one open. read more

We have the WORST postman EVER!! He's a tall male with white hair, glasses, wears a hat. Delivers around Miller Avenue area. He's CONSTANTLY leaving packages in the wrong area, mostly where theft could happen. Recently he scanned my package as 'Delivered to neighbor as requested'...I work from home!!! why would I have him deliver it to my neighbor?! And from reading other reviews on here, I will never see my package and am out some money! It also looks like the San Bruno location just DOES NOT CARE! Very sad... read more

San Bruno Post Office is worthless. Don't bother calling, the phone rings off the hook and disconnects. I am a property manager for a homeowners association of 164 units. We have struggled with mail theft for 3 to 4 years with zero assistance from the San Bruno post office; the USPS Fraud Division took several months to respond, if you can call a phone call from them asking if the mail theft issue has been resolved. And here we are again in 2024 with a renewal of mail thefts. It's clear the master mailbox key has been compromised which suggests an inside job. No ownership by the San Bruno post office or for that matter the USPS. read more

I like this post office branch, it has plenty of parking and is nice and well lit inside (I used to go to the Chestnut Ave. location and it's dark and outdated looking). There was no line and plenty of people working at the time I got in so it was a really good experience. read more

I was a supervisor there for 3 years. Ma and Dennis have recently retired sadly, also Tim who is there still, who has exceeded every expectation possible both in front and behind the scenes. They are truly remarkable people, and I couldn't be more proud of their devotion, humanity, and excellence to each of their customers and coworkers during their many, many years of diligent service. I hope employee Tim was just having a bad day and does not treat every individual as rude as he did me today 03/11/2020. Irony to this encounter is that I was reading all the "customer service awards" hung on the wall behind the counter while being treated like garbage. I explained to Tim my situation (a missed delivery), that I rarely come to the post office and needed help with what steps to take next. Tim barely acknowledged me, snatched my ID out of my hand, and disappeared for 10 minutes I guess to check for my package? Came back and told me it had been delivered on 03/05. Tracking on my phone said US Mail was still in possession. He got mad because I didn't tell him about the tracking. He never asked, I told him I wasn't sure what information he needed when I first stepped up to the counter. Tim would not let me get a word out to explain anything. To the point where I had to ask him if he would please let me finish a sentence without interrupting. I walked away mid conversation with no resolution to my problem. Never thought about reviewing post office before, but decided to add my $.02 regarding this branch. There are two placeS where I keep my expectations low; the post office and the DMV. I avoid going to both of them when I can. That being mentioned, I've gone to the San Bruno branch many, many times--mostly for work. Recently, I ordered something from Banana Republic and the shipping label was misprinted (and should not have gone of the package). I tracked it via USPS' website and received an email stating that it was not delivered due to an "incorrect or illegible" address. I stopped by the PO after work about fifteen minutes before closing and was helped by "Charles". I'm not sure if he was the same Charles as mentioned by previous Yelpers, but he was pretty helpful. He explained to me when packages are undeliverable they go back to one of two different POs. Fortunately, my package went back to the San Bruno branch, but it took some serious searching. He invited me to wait and after enlisting the help of another employee they found it. By this time it was nearly 5:15 pm and I was the last person in the branch. I got lucky because it was going back to BR and since the shipping label was barely legible, they almost didn't find it. I won't discount others' reviews, but mine was definitely pleasant. They could have simply said, "We can't find it and you'll have to take it up with the shipper." So, I'll chalk this one up as a good experience. Charles was pleasant. read more

A few months ago, I had to go to three different USPS locations to find a place that would take non-machinable mail (my wedding invitations!). This is fairly simple to do - you just buy stamps with a non-machinable surcharge and hand them to a worker. First two locations immediately turned me away with no explanation. They wouldn't even sell me the stamps. Finally came here and Thomas was so helpful! Didn't bat an eye when I explained that I needed my wedding invitations hand cancelled because of the envelope seal. Kindly explained what stamps I needed and to bring them up when I was done. I offered to help hand cancel them and he said it wasn't necessary - made it super easy for me! Thomas was wonderful. I will come back to this USPS in the future. read more

customer service lacks here. I went in and she wouldn't mail my package because the envelope said first class. I put a white sticker over it and wrote on it, still would not take it. Insisted I pay the $2 for another envelope annoying. limited parking, but you can park at the shopping center across the street. Tons of restaurants near by, get your groceries done too. Tanforan right there. This post office is hidden behind the shopping center. The only reason this place is okay is because they have a do it yourself weight and ship center than goodness!! I love that thing doesn't tell me what to do, just takes my packages and prints out labels. One of the sweetest ladies I have ever met! And they were so kind, on a holiday they were not even rushing me out or anything! And they loved my attitude, I'm assuming, because we just kept talking and pretty soon, all the employees were asking me questions and showing interest in what I was talking about. The lady, whom I wish I got her name, was a sweet little, extremely stylish lady, telling me her daughter just got married! "CongratulationS! The closer you get to closing (5pm), the lengthier the lines get inside. Avoid waiting by going online. Prepay and print shipping labels and leave your prepaid items on the far right counter. Numerous times I've attempted to call with no answer. Driving here ended up being faster than waiting endlessly for someone to pick up the phone. This is the closest postal office to my house and I'm pretty grateful for that. The parking lot has a good amount of spaces for the size of the postal office, but it does get full sometimes. And the entry and exit is only one way so just be sure to look for the signs. The post office itself is a decent size and they have boxes off to the right side. And envelopes and cards and stuff on the inside. It's all pretty easy to spot once you step inside. Service itself could use some work. I came here once and there was 2-3 people working. The line was long and the customer service was slow. They definitely need to work faster. I've seen people leave the line before 'cause it was taking too long. Overall, grateful this is near my house so I don't have to go far, but I'm gonna need to be hella patient if I want to get anything done here. read more

Post Office employee "Emily Taylor" was supposed to investigate my package that either was lost or stolen. I dropped off my package in June 2020, the postal clerk gave me my receipt tracking number. My package tracking number shows the USPS received my package and that was it! My package never left the USPS San Bruno, CA. I have reached out to the USPS via phone and email complaint. San Bruno mail carriers are horrific. I sent my cousin a package- it "went out for delivery", never reached my cousin, then marked as "return to sender- recipient moved with no forwarding address," less than two hours later. My cousin has lived there for over twenty years. She told me her carrier is incompetent, at best, and she opened a P.O. Box. Seems like other reviews for their carriers have similar issues, and no one picks up the phone. Cost me more money to have this item shipped back out again. Using FedEx this time though. read more

The other nearby post office typically only has one person regardless, but that's likely because they get less customers. The workers are always kind and helpful. They've been willing to explain my delivery options and are patient with me. During the day there's always parking and the drive up mailbox is very convenient. read more
