Scotty P's makes a great burger. I like to order the Preston Trail (comes with chili and graded cheddar cheese) and my wife likes the grilled chicked strips. Just a good, clean, tasty burger joint. Really disappointed. Was trying to do the rounds on all the burger places in DFW and Scotty P's was one of them. Burger was very tough and not very juciy at all. Even with all the mushrooms and swiss cheese it didnt seem to have much flavor. The bun was very dry, I'm assuming it was a little old. The loaded fries came out room temperature. However, the sweet potato fries were very, very good. Same with the ranch. Service was okay. Price seemed high. read more

Great simple American fare; hamburgers and chicken strips. I love their chicken strips with ranch dressing. Super-crispy and fresh, generous portions, giant black pepper flakes can be seen. The onion rings are gigantic saucer like rings with a buttermilk beer battering that bring some guilt but after a dip of ketchup your concerns go away. Scotty P's offers a great alternative to the endless chains and has much better food; a really great local restaurant. I love that their menu has a bottle of Dom Perignon for $299 and for $1 more you get a bottle of Dom Perignon, 2 burgers and 2 fries! That is great! read more

I stopped here for dinner. On the whole it was an enjoyable experience. Even though it's fast casual, it feels more like a traditional sit down restaurant because of the plentiful booth seating alongside the open seating. There's lots of stained wood wainscoting and old black and white photos on the wall. Are they of Plano? I'm not sure. The burger platters clock in at just under $10 not including the drink. The burgers aren't very wide, but the patties are decently thick. If you don't ask, it looks like they'll cook it to medium. Despite this, they were still rather tough and dry. The fries were a bright spot. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I also appreciate that they offer other meal options like hot dogs and salads. Nowadays lots of restaurants try to create artificial personality (Think Twisted Root), which looks kind of tacky in the end. I enjoy the polished, but down to earth feel here. read more

I really love this place, I only get the cheese fries though because I'm not a fan of the burgers, but the reason for my rating being so low is my visit today. First of all the cashier was obviously sick. Coughing all over the place, barely had a voice and not properly covering his cough. I work in customer service and when you're hacking up a lung, you shouldn't be handling money, credit cards, and definitely not food. Even if you're just handing me my food on a tray. If he had been in the kitchen coughing like that, I would have left. Secondly, and this is a common problem here for me,but it was bad today, is a lot of the fries weren't cooked all the way. Still very firm and had an almost raw potatoe taste. Pretty much every time I go to scotty p's there's at least one or two like that. But today was a lot more than one or two. Not saying I won't be back, because I will. Just saying this so maybe someone will acknowledge the problems. One of my favorite burger joints in DFW. I usually get the Harrington Cheeseburger, which has shredded cheddar on top instead of sliced. For some reason, this different texture gives it a much stronger cheese flavor. The patties are always cooked to perfection and they have a great spice rub. If burgers aren't your thing, they have plenty of chicken options, as well as gyro kebabs. I'm also a big fan of their caesar salad (which you can get with grilled or fried chicken). I'm giving 1 star because I can't give anything less. I ordered my food 30 minutes prior and still wasn't ready. I had to wait an additional 15 minutes and then when I opened it the fries were hard and cold like they were sitting. On top of all that my daughters fries had hair in them. First & LAST time visiting this establishment. There were other people that also had placed their orders via phone and when they got there the order was not even processed or properly taken. I went here last week with some co-workers. I am not a huge hamburger fan, but the guys wanted to go so I caved. They has a special of Greek chicken with a Greek salad. I know you should always try the normal food first, but thank goodness I didn't. It was some of the most flavorful and juicy chicken I have had in a very long time. There was a slight zest to it, but not overwhelming and the salad had just the right amount of dressing. It wasn't swimming in it. I also got to try a few french fries from my neighbors plate and they were smothered in bacon and cheese. How can you ever go wrong with that.
