We were staying in a neighboring city and needed to re-up on ammo for our trip to an outdoor shooting range the next day. I called in before driving up to inquire if what I needed was in stock -- these folks had what I needed (called several stores beforehand). We took the drive and was met with Scorpius Tactical situated in a business mall park. As I walked in, I was greeted immediately and the salesperson quickly gathered what I needed from behind the counter. It was straight to the point but he was extremely professional and helpful. There was a bit of small talk about how ridiculous firearm and ammo prices have jumped up -- it's a pain! I paid for my merchandise and was out the store within 10 minutes. I usually have my serialized items sent here. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I stopped by the other day because I needed a 5/64 roll pin for my gas block. No problem! I was given a roll pin from the back free of charge. They didn't expect me to buy anything... I just thought it would be polite to pick up a couple reasonably priced quality mag pouches to show my gratitude. I'm very happy with them. Matt was very helpful and knowledgeable, the prices are in line with what you find else where, and they have a custom fitting service so that you can be fitted correctly for everyday wear. Brought my AR in for what I thought would be some serious repair. The BCG wouldn't retract. Staff did what's called "Mortaring" and the BCG retracted immediately. These guys are stellar. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. But most of all what keeps me coming back is there is no condesending attitude. I don't know what I don't know and the staff doesn't hold that against you. I learned something today. Earlier they helped me build this AR and didn't sell me what I didn't need. I don't have enough information to give them an actual rating. But My boyfriend and I are extremely frustrated, as we live an hour away, and drove here to look in their store. And after an hour we see they are closed, and the only notice they have posted is a hand written piece of paper on the door. It would be professional and courteous to your customers to at least update your hours online. So people like us don't spend 2 hours out of their day driving to a store that isn't even open. read more

I needed some new targets to shoot at, and after a lot of googling and online shopping I came across Scorpius Tactical. I was getting ready to order a gong when I noticed these guys are actually in my home town!!! I stopped by this morning and was pleasantly greeted by a friendly man at the counter. This is a nice small business for your tactical needs. They have pretty much every piece of condor gear you could need. Specifically plate carriers and accessories. They also sell a variety of AR-15 parts and custom builds. Metal targets are another focus of this store. They are also known for sell a variety of quality metal targets and stands. First off, the guys who work there are awesome. Second, the store is just as awesome. Pretty much has all of your tactical needs. Now, off to the reason for this review... the 2 in 1 modular target stand. This is as good as it gets. Today was my 2nd time using it since buying it last week. Today I was shooting a new rifle and scope for the first time. Was able to sight my scope in on the paper target. Once zeroed, I moved straight to the gong without having to run down range and set up a new target. I put 2 .308 rounds into the rubber straps, and nothing. They completely self healed from a .308 round. This honestly takes 1 minute to completely setup. Super easy to carry once it's packed up. I will NEVER go to the range without this read more

I decided that I want to build an AR for my next firearm purchase instead of buying a generic rifle off the shelf. The next step was to find a place that actually carried AR parts, specifically the lowers. Not too many places seem to carry parts like lowers. After a few days research I came across Scorpius Tactical on Google. I face palmed when I realized they carried AR parts and they were only about a half mile down the road from my house. I assumed they were only a tactical gear/ military surplus store until I decided to stop in and take a look around for myself. I immediately found the part I wanted at a very good price. Decided to buy right then and there. Scorpius Tactical staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The sale was very painless. I have been in multiple gun stores in Reno including the big box stores and I have had bad customer service experiences with the majority of them. Many places make buying a gun or shooting supplies very weird and uncomfortable. Shopping at Scorpius Tactical was a good overall experience. They are professional, friendly, their store was very clean and well presented. They have inventory on everything you need. No price gouging. All the products are great quality and priced reasonably. He didn't make me feel like an idiot for asking stupid questions, and I felt he really cared that I got solid information and wanted to point me in the right direction.
