My husband and I needed to get some target practice done and stopped at the RAC. And that was a great decision as soon as we walked in we were greeted, and the employees were quick to assist us. Prices were great. One range fee was 15 about $1.99 per target you are allowed to bring targets as well but they need to be full-size. One of the employees Mark came in with us, explained everything to us. The importance of safety, he went over everything then stuck around. It's not something he has to do but chose to do . He really helped me with focus on my shooting and what I was doing right what and what I was doing that could help me make some improvements,it wasn't critical at all. Extremely helpful. And I actually improved under his supervision and direction. The owners were very gracious to let us take a few pictures for our review. This is definitely place. I highly recommend thanks to a great team will be back. Also, the store has everything you need if you need guns or ammunition, they have it if you need to renew or get a CCW license they have that availability as well. Just need to set up. When my wife and I entered the store we were greeted promptly and they explained the shooting range operation. We were able to purchase eyewear and targets there as well as many other upgraded options. There is a vast display of firearms and accessories along with ammunition. Mark, the Range Master was very informative and helpful with tips and safety advice. The range was not hourly so you could take the time to comfortably shoot. It's very modestly priced. There is an annual option as well as per visit. It's a well run operation which led to an afternoon of fun and practice. You gotta go if you are a gun enthusiast. If you are not try other things. As a proficient gun owner I found this class intimidating. The instructor was condescending and making fun of "old people". It was not respectfully or professionally presented. He kept repeating over and over and over again that we had to be super fast super fast super fast with everything we did and as a CCW permit owner, it's more important to be safe than fast. I left the class at my first opportunity and they didn't even notice that I had gone, even though at the end of the day they still had my test and paperwork. I expected someone to contact me about this, but they didn't because they had my money and that's all they cared about. read more

I've done 3 different CCW classes (both in state and out of state) and this was by far the best one I've found. What stood out most to me was how passionate the owners are. They are also very knowledgeable, experienced, and made the class really fun. I'll be signing up for some 1-on-1 classes with them and highly recommend them. read more

Deceptive Practices and Zero Accountability - Still Charging Me $597.00, after I Cancelled In-Person Two Years Ago. I joined this gun range in November 2022. Everything was fine until I moved out of state. In August 2023 I personally walked into the facility, went to the front desk (the RAC counter), and told the employee on duty that I was permanently moving out of state and needed to cancel my membership immediately. He told me, verbatim, "No problem, I'll let accounting know and get it taken care of." I left assuming it was handled, like any reasonable person would. Fast forward to November 2025 - more than two years later - my wife and I discover that the range has continued to auto-deduct the annual membership fee every November without fail: 2023, 2024, and again in 2025, after I had already cancelled in person. I called the range immediately. The owner herself got on the phone and coldly informed me that, per the contract, cancellation requires an email 30 days in advance, and since I didn't send one, tough luck. When I explained that I did cancel - in person, to their employee, and was explicitly told it would be handled - her response was: "My employees would never say that. They all know you have to send an email." So now I'm apparently a liar, their employee is infallible, and I'm out $597.00 because I trusted the person standing in front of me representing their company. They refused to refund even the charge that had literally posted that same morning when I called. Not a single penny. The bigger issue, the contract I signed for an annual membership was $199.00, for my wife and I. Yet, they were charging me double. The contract stated the annual fee was $199.00 and charged us $398.00 yearly and when asked, they failed to provide a signed copy from my wife, because it doesn't exist. This isn't a simple misunderstanding; it's a deliberate trap. They hide behind fine print, while their own staff gives customers incorrect verbal instructions, then deny it ever happened when the unauthorized charges pile up. It's predatory, plain and simple. If you must join, record every single interaction and send that cancellation email every single month for a year, because apparently nothing else counts. Or better yet, take your money somewhere that doesn't treat honest customers like ATMs. Absolutely disgusting customer service and zero integrity from ownership. I will be filing complaint the state Attorney General, and disputing every charge with my credit card. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Friendly staff and great range officers! Check out Sparks for a range rather than Carson or Reno. Excellent price for large bays and targets. They own the self defense gym next door as well as a coffeehouse in the same building. We got to meet Heather who owns the business with her husband. Isaac was a great range officer. RAC is so good to my mom's husband who is a vet and retired police (& excellent shot) and he only goes to RAC. So naturally, when I purchased my very first firearm, this is where he took me. Heather was so welcoming and knowledgeable, not to mention kind and truly cared about my journey as a first time firearm owner. She was good to my mother too who wasn't very good with her aim so Heather had her sign up for their first time shooter class. It's reasonably priced and necessary for someone who isn't comfortable handling guns yet. As for me, Dominic was my shooting officer I think that's their title) and he was very patient, thorough and knowledgeable and most importantly, saftey focused. He showed me how to handle my new gun, load it, prep it, fire it etc. I had a lot of questions and he was right there always ready to help. Heather and Dominic were the combo I needed to truly feel good about handling a firearm. I signed up for CCW in Nov and look forward to getting even more comfortable with my new gun. My partner and I have lived in Sparks/Reno for a few months now and we were so happy to find RAC Guns & Ammo. The first time walking in we were met with friendly, knowledgeable staff. We paid the daily fee to use the indoor range but decided after shooting, to purchase the membership. Being inside the indoor range was very comfortable. The range officer is always watching, helping when need and ensuring everyone's safety. If you have any questions or your gun jams, they're there to help you get it figured out. Soon after becoming members we signed up for a CCW class which is was great! Heather and Rick were very informative, straight forward and enjoyable. The eight hour class had a 45 minute break between qualifying and the remainder of the class. (We took advantage of that time and went to their coffee shop located on the side of the building. The coffee was delicious, definitely much try!!) Rick, Heather and crew take safety very seriously and will make it known throughout the class, especially if you are being unsafe. We appreciated that very much!! Since the class, we go in and practice shooting at least once a week. Everyone that works there is so friendly and we really enjoy our time spent there. Attended the CCW CLASS at RAC. The instructor is brash and outspoken. But I like that. His knowledge of what he was presenting is good. I feel like I learned something. The cost of the course is very reasonable. And they have multiple gun classes available. A beginners class which I highly recommend if you are a new shooter wanting to get your CCW. Their range is nice. I think they have 10 or 12 lanes. Their staff while they look young and are young are very polite and knowledgeable. Their prices are competitive with the other local small gun shops. But they are a little bit more than the bigger sporting goods out doors places. But they gotta make some money some how. Their range fees are competitive with the other local indoors ranges. And I will go to them to shoot so I don't have to drive across town. read more

Earlier today,I went Target shooting. After paying the fees, to shoot and getting into the firing range the guy behind the counter came into the shooting range and constantly criticized everything I did with my gun. Than, he takes my gun out of my hand. He said I was shooting at the ceiling and I wasn't. Then he tells me it has to be at least 10 yards out for the Target. When their was five other people in that shooting area. I'm the only person he singled out to complain I was doing something wrong. Also, he grabbed my fire arm, out of my hand. He did this which caused my gun to jam. When he did this I felt violated! He did not ask nicely if he can help me. From now on I'll go shooting outdoors in the hills. At least I won't have someone telling me everything I'm doing wrong. He was also rude to my son and cussed at my son. He said " I don't give a shit if I pissed off your Dad". read more
