The person I dealt with was friendly and professional. I had never seen the inside of the store and it is stuffed with so much you would have a hard time choosing unless you know what you want. I am no expert in firearms but they seem to be and have access to a computer software with the retail price if you are selling and give you 70% of that. Always wanted to go into this unique old building to see what they offered. The nice young gentleman helped me pick out a firearm that was best for this old lady. I had been doing my own research online so I know the first one he took me too was a good choice. It was new and the price was the same as I found online. I did not buy on the spot since I want to make sure this is the best fit for me. Plus, I was hoping to find a handgun that was not all black. I like to easily see the safety and releases. We talked for some time and the brand of gun I originally went in for was not available. Even though it had good reviews online, he noted that it would not hold up to lots of use. I don't plan on using the gun a lot but I may go to the range with my friend and shoot targets. My main purpose for the gun was for safety while traveling in an R.V. I currently have an old 9mm that has not been used in since I bought it from a co-worker. They told me they could appraise it and possibly trade it in. Not sure if I want to give it up but I like having options. This place had a great collection of guns, new and used, and lots of gun stuff. I can't comment on the gun dealing business because I merely brought a friend here to have a background check so he could pick up the guns he ordered a few weeks back. I was more intrigued about the history of the building and grounds. The Nevada Historical marker stated that this was once a "one stop shop" where it was a ranch, stage coach stop, school, and dancing and betting took place. Love the architecture of the building and the lush green grass. Nicely shaded areas. Lots of people going in and out. The shop is practicing the covid19 guidelines and you must have a mask and use their sanitizer before entering. read more

My wife shipped my family heirloom shotgun to Maryland via Willey Brothers interstate FFL service. Dylan could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Their website says they are family friendly and they certainly proved it in our case. They have purchased nearly a dozen guns from me and have always offered a fair price. We both love the cozy comfortable atmosphere of the old ranch house where they are located. Wood floors and some comfy chairs are a nice touch as well. I have always drove by this place and for some reason, I never bothered to stop by. The one day I did, they were closed. Well yesterday after shopping at Winco across the street, I swung by. They building looked cool and historic. Surprisingly, they had a good selection of firearms in there. Lots of used guns and also lots of new ones. The prices were reasonable. I thought there were a lot of good deals in there. I browsed around for maybe an hour until I found something I wanted. There's just so much stuff in there to look at, you have to keep a mental note of what you want and where you found it. It was sort of confusing on who the employees were because they're all wearing regular clothes. I accidentally asked a person there questions on a gun and he was just another customer browsing around like me. But, once it was known that I was interested in something, one of the employees was right on it. They were able to answer a few of my questions which sealed the deal. I was in there on Saturday. I have my carry license. I was looking for a lighter handgun to carry in my purse as I have a hurt shoulder. I asked the woman to help me. I did not ask the young man with dark hair to help me and I have no idea why he felt the need to be part of our conversation. I did need help with looking for a gun. The woman advised me to carry my current gun and get used to the weight, which is probably a good idea, but it does hurt my shoulder. The problem I have is that I am not as knowledgeable about the different guns as they are or I would not be asking questions. The dark haired man more so than the woman, spoke to me like I was an idiot, which I am not. I have always liked the store and I purchased both my guns from the store. This is an impressive gun shop in a beautiful historic building in South Reno that is over 100 years old known as the Historic Huffaker Ranch House. Staff is friendly and ready to answer any questions. The selection is amazing and the guns are on display more befitting a museum than your typical shop. They are organized by type: Ruger revolvers in one case used 22 semiautos in another, etc. What I like is that most of the guns are in full view on racks or shelves with tethers, so you can pick them up and look at them closely instead of peering through glass display cases. The newer and higher-end pieces are behind glass but they are more than happy to show you anything if you want to take a closer look. First off, I would like to say that the building this business is in is super cool! Looks like an old house out of a western movie, or a movie set. They are pretty easy to find, since they are located directly off a major street. They have plenty of signage, so you shouldn't miss them. They staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They don't have the largest selection, but this place is more setup for that intimate one on one experience. They offer safety and CCW classes. Prices seemed very competitive and they sell both new and used fire farms. I gave them 4 stars and not 5, since their selection is very limited, however I highly recommend this place! read more

I'm only giving 4 stars because I had a very simple transaction and didn't need much customer service for my purchase. If they perform as well during a full FFL transaction (and I assume they do), they deserve 5 stars. The staff was clearly there to assist if needed, but without any pressure to interact unless asked. I hate shopping with a salesman breathing down my neck. Just a relaxing low-key environment with a fantastic selection of interesting vintage and antique firearms along with new models. Called to ask if they had an appraiser for a gun i have. They asked if i want to sell it, i said it depends on what the appraiser says. They told me it's an antique and if someone put modern ammo in it, it will blow up, which is true and i knew that, and they weren't interested in it. Then gave me no information. So totally unhelpful trip, definitely not worth driving for an hour. read more

I was discriminated. I called about 30 minutes prior asking if they had 40 ammunition and the person who picked up had told me they had five boxes 100 limit per customer and so on, then I proceeded to go to the store wasting my time to get there and a young guy with blue eyes and blonde hair told me very rudely that they don't have any 40 ammo. His coworker proceeded to try and tell me that they are in the counter (a bigger dude) but the other kid was taking over him saying they don't have any and that I called a different store. Then his coworker seemed liked a pretty decent guy grabbed two boxes for and and asked if I wanted them 100 per customer. I just told him politely that I'd go somewhere else and get them. Disclaimer: I am not a "gun person" and this is the only firearms store I've been to so I'm nowhere near an expert on this. I visited Willey Brothers Firearms about a week or so ago. First thing I noticed is how big the place looks from outside. It's basically a long house with an upstairs (I don't think customers are allowed upstairs). There are two main rooms: one with all the guns and one with all the accessories. The establishment is quite clean and aesthetically pleasing. Majority of the guns you can pick up yourself; they aren't behind the check out counter or anything. They have a large selection of new and used guns. My boyfriend originally wanted a Mosen rifle from WWII era, but unfortunately someone else bought it. Instead he bought a Ruger Mark II pistol. The staff was very nice; answered all our questions and didn't pressure us to buy anything. In addition, everything seemed fairly priced. My boyfriend also bought some ammo and a case for the gun. Definitely a one-stop shop, which is always nice. read more

When buying from the company via gunbroker, they will communicate and have the FFL sent through email (not through gunbroker). And if you don't pay fast enough (EVEN IF YOU ARE COMMUNICATING WITH THEM), they report you for "not-paying" and lock your gunbroker account, with no ability to appeal! Willey Brothers is my go to spot in Reno not only for their large variety of guns but the staff is knowledgable and kind. I enjoy looking for older rifles that need a little love to shine again and this is a great spot to find many trades. I bought a 30 year old marlin model 60 that had multiple layers of varnish all over, and needed a little love to make shine. Willeys didnt charge me new gun prices and were very reasonable in disclosing the condition of this rifle and were giving me tips on the best way to restore it. Thanks to those guys advice I restored my model 60 to a beautiful shine and now have a great rifle. Honesty and understanding are great ways to describe the staff at Willeys. Bought a shot gun from them and I took it out the next day and put two shells thru it and the stock shattered on me. When I took it in to see if they could help me with it they told me they can't do anything and that it is sold as is. I didn't know as is meant that I was playing games with my safety. There's always risks when buying a used shot gun but they should not be selling firearms that could possibly fail in the worst way. Customer service is great at Willey Firearms. Prices are spot on, or even lower than market, and his selection and knowledge is top notch. They are quick to get to you and are glad to allow you to check out anything they got in shop. Overall, its easily one of the best shops we have around. Service is always friendly when we go in. I'm mostly writing this so people know that his selection caters mostly to newer stuff, like modern hunting rifles and lots of polymer pistols. I like shops that have older C&R stuff (or otherwise unique and interesting guns).More importantly, I have noticed over the years they listen to what the customers say. They will change their stock accordingly to what regular customers are saying they want and need. The destroy the prices and selection that the big box type stores have. Respectful, courteous, and genuine. There is a reason why people travel to come to this shop. Its because its one of the last real places left I think.
