I was able to get a quick appraisal, in the meantime time looking at their awesome collection of used and new weapons. Prices are very comparable with other local vendors and stores. read more

Went to buy a firearm with a friend. During the background app process while im filling it up my friend ask if I can pass it (because ive been arrested before. Arrested not charged). I say yes and say what ive been arrested for. Dude at the counter with long hair is nosey and listening and asks questions. I say its not a problem I wasnt charged. Takes my money say I should be good in 3 days. Ive lived in 3 states and the BG check takes longer. He says they dont release the gun (i wasnt asking for it) and they have a courtesy time of 30 days or whatever. Then rushes me saying they dont wanna wait and wants to force me to do a refund but keep restocking fee. Says they aren't confortable releasing the gun to me because of what I said I did. Basically dude heard me said I was arrested for things, then went in the office like a gossip girl and said I was pablo escobar. Told me would give me 3 business days if not would force a return. The day came and dude called. I recorded call, cussed me out etc and said they aren't releasing the gun, would force me to take my money back and would keep restocking fee. Obviously dude is an idiot and I recorded the call. Days later I got the PROCEED later from BRADY. The letter was dated from thr date he called me. So they had the info already and didnt care. Terrible service. Terrible dude. Like, dont hear me talk, take my money, they go gossip to the office and play telephone and tell a crazy story about me. Management never called to ask anything. Place is way out of the way. I mean if you are white maybe you would be ok at this place. I am not. read more

The person I dealt with was friendly and professional. I had never seen the inside of the store and it is stuffed with so much you would have a hard time choosing unless you know what you want. I am no expert in firearms but they seem to be and have access to a computer software with the retail price if you are selling and give you 70% of that. Whether that is standard I have no idea but they seem to know what they are doing. If I wanted to buy a gun I would definitely go there because I am not an expert. read more

I have bought a number of firearms from Willey Brothers and trade some in. I have been a customer from the time they opened. The staff is very knowledgeable. Their expertise has helped me in making very good selections. The prices I have paid and the amount of money I have received for trade-ins is fair. There are no unpleasant surprises. If you have not used Willey Brothers Firearms in the past, try them. You will find them with a good selection, fair prices, and with excellent service. Ryan read more

Always wanted to go into this unique old building to see what they offered. The nice young gentleman helped me pick out a firearm that was best for this old lady. I had been doing my own research online so I know the first one he took me too was a good choice. It was new and the price was the same as I found online. I did not buy on the spot since I want to make sure this is the best fit for me. Plus, I was hoping to find a handgun that was not all black. I like to easily see the safety and releases. We talked for some time and the brand of gun I originally went in for was not available. Even though it had good reviews online, he noted that it would not hold up to lots of use. I don't plan on using the gun a lot but I may go to the range with my friend and shoot targets. My main purpose for the gun was for safety while traveling in an R.V. I currently have an old 9mm that has not been used in since I bought it from a co-worker. They told me they could appraise it and possibly trade it in. Not sure if I want to give it up but I like having options. This place had a great collection of guns, new and used, and lots of gun stuff. The young man who helped me was patient and really spent time with me. That is greatly appreciated. read more

I can't comment on the gun dealing business because I merely brought a friend here to have a background check so he could pick up the guns he ordered a few weeks back. I was more intrigued about the history of the building and grounds. The Nevada Historical marker stated that this was once a "one stop shop" where it was a ranch, stage coach stop, school, and dancing and betting took place. Love the architecture of the building and the lush green grass. Nicely shaded areas. Lots of people going in and out. The shop is practicing the covid19 guidelines and you must have a mask and use their sanitizer before entering. read more

like most gun stores in Reno they think it's all about them. I'm purchasing something, transferring something and paying for something. Shouldn't you be a little more polite and maybe move your butt a little faster help the locals that will keep you in business. read more

I have always drove by this place and for some reason, I never bothered to stop by. The one day I did, they were closed. Well yesterday after shopping at Winco across the street, I swung by. They building looked cool and historic. Surprisingly, they had a good selection of firearms in there. Lots of used guns and also lots of new ones. The prices were reasonable. I thought there were a lot of good deals in there. I browsed around for maybe an hour until I found something I wanted. There's just so much stuff in there to look at, you have to keep a mental note of what you want and where you found it. It was sort of confusing on who the employees were because they're all wearing regular clothes. I accidentally asked a person there questions on a gun and he was just another customer browsing around like me. But, once it was known that I was interested in something, one of the employees was right on it. They were able to answer a few of my questions which sealed the deal. The checkout process was quick and I was on my way. I wish I would've stopped by there years sooner. I will be back in the future. read more

First off, I would like to say that the building this business is in is super cool! Looks like an old house out of a western movie, or a movie set. They are pretty easy to find, since they are located directly off a major street. They have plenty of signage, so you shouldn't miss them. They staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They don't have the largest selection, but this place is more setup for that intimate one on one experience. They offer safety and CCW classes. Prices seemed very competitive and they sell both new and used fire farms. I gave them 4 stars and not 5, since their selection is very limited, however I highly recommend this place! read more

Willey Brothers Firearms - Store front - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Reno, Nevada

My wife shipped my family heirloom shotgun to Maryland via Willey Brothers interstate FFL service. Dylan could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Their website says they are family friendly and they certainly proved it in our case. They have purchased nearly a dozen guns from me and have always offered a fair price. We both love the cozy comfortable atmosphere of the old ranch house where they are located. Wood floors and some comfy chairs are a nice touch as well. Super nice people, first class service, wonderful atmosphere and lots of guns...what else do you need?! read more

Plus: Knowledgeable and helpful staff without being arrogant. Good prices. Minus: Few used guns. read more

This is an impressive gun shop in a beautiful historic building in South Reno that is over 100 years old known as the Historic Huffaker Ranch House. Staff is friendly and ready to answer any questions. The selection is amazing and the guns are on display more befitting a museum than your typical shop. They are organized by type: Ruger revolvers in one case used 22 semiautos in another, etc. What I like is that most of the guns are in full view on racks or shelves with tethers, so you can pick them up and look at them closely instead of peering through glass display cases. The newer and higher-end pieces are behind glass but they are more than happy to show you anything if you want to take a closer look. I came in about 30 minutes before closing, so all I could do was look and assess. I'll be back again, soon. read more

I was in there on Saturday. I have my carry license. I was looking for a lighter handgun to carry in my purse as I have a hurt shoulder. I asked the woman to help me. I did not ask the young man with dark hair to help me and I have no idea why he felt the need to be part of our conversation. I did need help with looking for a gun. The woman advised me to carry my current gun and get used to the weight, which is probably a good idea, but it does hurt my shoulder. The problem I have is that I am not as knowledgeable about the different guns as they are or I would not be asking questions. The dark haired man more so than the woman, spoke to me like I was an idiot, which I am not. I have always liked the store and I purchased both my guns from the store. I probably will not shop there again. They are not the only gun store in our area. read more

Great location in a historic structure from the late 1800's. Great staff, the shop is divided in 1/2, one side is firearms and the other side is all accessories, decent variety. The also Cary pre-owned firearms at a nice value. I Recommend giving them a visit if your in the area. read more

Willey Brothers Firearms - Willeys tank - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Reno, Nevada

I have been a customer for almost 5 years. This is, hands down, my favorite gun store. The staff are 100% helpful and knowledgeable and at the same time non-intrusive. You will never be pressured to buy something but your questions will be answered. The inventory is a mix of new and used..if, like me, you drop in from time-to-time I guarantee you will find what you want at a very fair price. read more

Stopped by for some obscure handgun rounds. They had them, easy fast in and out. Reasonable pricing for an unusual round. I'll go back

Disclaimer: I am not a "gun person" and this is the only firearms store I've been to so I'm nowhere near an expert on this. I visited Willey Brothers Firearms about a week or so ago. First thing I noticed is how big the place looks from outside. It's basically a long house with an upstairs (I don't think customers are allowed upstairs). There are two main rooms: one with all the guns and one with all the accessories. The establishment is quite clean and aesthetically pleasing. Majority of the guns you can pick up yourself; they aren't behind the check out counter or anything. They have a large selection of new and used guns. My boyfriend originally wanted a Mosen rifle from WWII era, but unfortunately someone else bought it. Instead he bought a Ruger Mark II pistol. The staff was very nice; answered all our questions and didn't pressure us to buy anything. In addition, everything seemed fairly priced. My boyfriend also bought some ammo and a case for the gun. Definitely a one-stop shop, which is always nice. read more

I'm only giving 4 stars because I had a very simple transaction and didn't need much customer service for my purchase. If they perform as well during a full FFL transaction (and I assume they do), they deserve 5 stars. The staff was clearly there to assist if needed, but without any pressure to interact unless asked. I hate shopping with a salesman breathing down my neck. Just a relaxing low-key environment with a fantastic selection of interesting vintage and antique firearms along with new models. I'll be coming back when I'm back in the area again. read more

Called to ask if they had an appraiser for a gun i have. They asked if i want to sell it, i said it depends on what the appraiser says. They told me it's an antique and if someone put modern ammo in it, it will blow up, which is true and i knew that, and they weren't interested in it. Then gave me no information. So totally unhelpful trip, definitely not worth driving for an hour. read more

Always a good selection of guns to view. Great prices and visit as often as I can. Selections are always changing.

Nice shop with very helpful staff. I try to stop in at least once every 2 weeks because their used guns are always changing. I've bought and sold a few, at date prices. It's also my go to place for shipping of items I've bought through Davidson's. read more

I was discriminated. I called about 30 minutes prior asking if they had 40 ammunition and the person who picked up had told me they had five boxes 100 limit per customer and so on, then I proceeded to go to the store wasting my time to get there and a young guy with blue eyes and blonde hair told me very rudely that they don't have any 40 ammo. His coworker proceeded to try and tell me that they are in the counter (a bigger dude) but the other kid was taking over him saying they don't have any and that I called a different store. Then his coworker seemed liked a pretty decent guy grabbed two boxes for and and asked if I wanted them 100 per customer. I just told him politely that I'd go somewhere else and get them. I know discrimination when i see it and this was definitely that. read more

My 'go to place for firearms. Their selection is amazing - from handguns to rifles/shotguns. Not everything is hidden or locked in glass cases. Their system allows you to browse on your own, pick up and handle the weapon at your leisure. They are always ready to assist, but they're not hovering over you like most places. Family owned and operated, they are amazing at customer service. They also have a wide selection of accessories, knives, safes, women's concealed gear along with a variety of different classes for safety or education. Male or female, young or old, experienced or novice - this is the place to go for your hunting, collectible or self / home protection needs. read more

There are many small businesses in Reno that simply amaze you. When the business in question also embraces our pioneering history, culture and not so distant "wild west flavor" of our past.. it just works.. Willey Brothers hits the nail on the head, in so many catagories, in several ways. First... CURB APPEAL... The historic value of parking in front of their store and simply going for a walk and then entering the historic building is worthy of a vacation destination... (keep your kids off the antiques)... The bad reviews seem to be scheels snobs.. or cabelas crybabies.. Willey Brothers greeted us as we came in... lets us browse.. reengaged with us again... answered our questions.. showed us several options.. AND ordered me a gun w/ xtra mags from thier distributor that I was looking to own... and called to tell me that gun and feed troughs had arrived. I was not able to get therexright away... so he held it in his safe for me. THATS GOING THE EXTRA MILE IN MY BOOK.. EXCELLENT SERVICE WITH FOLLOW UP! Overall Experience. 5 stars... Good pricing. Great Atmosphere. Nice selection of modern and collectable firearms and regalia. Excellent Customer Service! EARL AND HIS WIFE WENT THE EXTRA MILE FOR US FROM START TO FINISH.. awesome folk with a great Nevadatude! I can buy a gun anywhere... I LIKE TO SUPPORT OUR LOCAL MOM AND POP STORES THAT PROTECT THE 2nd AMENDMENT CULTURE, CCW RIGHTS AND AMERICAN VALUES THAT MAKE NEVADA GREAT... Willey Brothers Firearms - When good frying pans go bad.... shoot them... its a hoot! - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Reno, Nevada

I've bought probably 20 firearms through Willey Bros (direct and FFL transfers). They are the best shop in Reno, hands down.

Great service for folks new to guns, or just looking for a new piece for the end times. Pretty good inventory considering the gun shortage going on right now too. Very helpful staff, who are incredibly knowledgeable! read more

When buying from the company via gunbroker, they will communicate and have the FFL sent through email (not through gunbroker). And if you don't pay fast enough (EVEN IF YOU ARE COMMUNICATING WITH THEM), they report you for "not-paying" and lock your gunbroker account, with no ability to appeal! Then they ignore your emails. read more

Willey Brothers is my go to spot in Reno not only for their large variety of guns but the staff is knowledgable and kind. I enjoy looking for older rifles that need a little love to shine again and this is a great spot to find many trades. I bought a 30 year old marlin model 60 that had multiple layers of varnish all over, and needed a little love to make shine. Willeys didnt charge me new gun prices and were very reasonable in disclosing the condition of this rifle and were giving me tips on the best way to restore it. Thanks to those guys advice I restored my model 60 to a beautiful shine and now have a great rifle. Honesty and understanding are great ways to describe the staff at Willeys. They have a customer for life in me and I am so thankful for them being a model company in our community. Thank you all! read more

Bought a shot gun from them and I took it out the next day and put two shells thru it and the stock shattered on me. When I took it in to see if they could help me with it they told me they can't do anything and that it is sold as is. I didn't know as is meant that I was playing games with my safety. There's always risks when buying a used shot gun but they should not be selling firearms that could possibly fail in the worst way. Even more so I'm new to gun buying and there service was trash. read more

I went back again to Willey Brothers today to pick up a new firearm that I ordered online from Gallery of Guns at a great price. Once again, my guy was friendly, professional, fast and willing to listen to my babbling. My transaction was completed in under 30 minutes. This time, I took the plunge and went to look at the firearms for sale, both used and new. A few items caught my eye and they were at a reasonable price. The bottom line: if you don't like waiting on several lines to buy a firearm at a big box sports shop at a higher price, check out Willey Brothers. read more

I have been a Willey Brothers customer for many years. They have a great staff. Always very friendly. And they know their stuff. They have a great selection of new firearms. And what they don't have they can order for you. My favorite thing about this gun shop is they have a lot of used and also historic firearms. They buy from individuals and estates. Often buying whole collections. You never know what you might find at Willey Brothers. They will often have very rare or hard to find firearms. And their prices are always very fair. read more

Another great transaction at Willey Brothers! I wanted to sell a couple of firearms so I went there first. I mentioned that I wanted to find a Browning BDA and Earl said he had one in the case. Well, today I took my guns in and made a deal that had me leaving with the BDA and cash in hand. Can't beat that! I couldn't be happier. Earl and Debbie were fabulous to deal with. Always fair, pleasant, and courteous. A real pleasure these days. It's a wonderful place to browse too. Keep up the good work you guys! read more

This store is pretty nice. The folks are nice as well. Over priced for sure, but I expected that. What I did not expect was how arrogant, rude, and dishonest Earle was every time I went in. Customer service is great at Willey Firearms. Prices are spot on, or even lower than market, and his selection and knowledge is top notch. They are quick to get to you and are glad to allow you to check out anything they got in shop. Overall, its easily one of the best shops we have around. Service is always friendly when we go in. I'm mostly writing this so people know that his selection caters mostly to newer stuff, like modern hunting rifles and lots of polymer pistols. I like shops that have older C&R stuff (or otherwise unique and interesting guns).More importantly, I have noticed over the years they listen to what the customers say. They will change their stock accordingly to what regular customers are saying they want and need. The destroy the prices and selection that the big box type stores have. Respectful, courteous, and genuine. There is a reason why people travel to come to this shop. Its because its one of the last real places left I think. I will always support Willey Firearms and will take new shooters to him for their first purchases. Well worth the money, time and energy. Other shops should take notes and review their current practices. Great Trade-In Program My husband and I have purchased and traded many weapons there. Tanya is always quick to answer all the questions or concerns one could have, no matter what. We have bought many guns there but today I was looking for a powerful pepper spray unit after me and my dogs were threatened by a 75 pound off leash dog last week. Tanya set me up with a nice little blaster pistol that shoots 13 feet in a precision stream. No dogs will dare come close to us with this little puppy. read more
