Great gun store and even better range; best in Northern Nevada! The service is fantastic. They are patient and really go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and that you understand safety and what you're doing and make everything really easy. When you get there you complete your registration and rent a lane. Then you can either use your own firearm, eye and ear protection, and ammunition or you can rent or purchase everything. You can rent handguns and various semi-auto rifles for a flat rate plus ammunition, or you can rent automatics or belt fed machine guns by buying magazines or belts, no flat rental rate required. It can all add up pretty quickly but overall the rates and prices are reasonable. I had a great time, my favorite was firing the Thompson submachine gun on full auto, and will definitely be back for the M1! read more

I'm from San Francisco and have gone shooting a few times. My mom has never shot a gun before so I thought this would be a fun activity to do together. She has always been afraid of guns and came out of this range wanting to learn more! Alex and the staff were very helpful on recommending a beginner gun and how to reload. They were very patient on answering any questions and super informative on how a gun works. We started off with a rifle and had such a blast that we purposely made a detour and came back the next day to shoot a glock. I've been to other ranges before, but this was the best range to bring a beginner to. This is now my favorite place to go to whenever I'm in Reno. I took my adult son here, and it was his first time, although he had previously visited a place in Vegas with a friend. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and was genuinely excited. Visited for the first time to attend a CCW course. This is a very nice business! I was specifically impressed with the security to enter/exit the range area, and other safety protocols in place. They also seemed to have a decent selection of firearms, and the prices seemed to be fair for the market as well. I am new to firearms, so I was a little anxious going to the range for the first time but everyone here was very kind and welcoming so that all went away pretty quickly. I first took the 'Intro to Firearms' class with Daniel Smith and it was a huge help for someone like me. I found not only the instruction to be valuable but also Daniel's experience and philosophy which I really related to. It was a great all-around course and I highly recommend to anyone who is interested. I went to the range the next day to get some shooting practice in and the clerk, who's name I unfortunately didn't get, was very nice and explained how the process worked with renting and using a lane. Daniel was also at the lanes supervising so I felt even more comfortable once I got out there. 200 rounds later I was hooked, so I will definitely be getting a membership. read more

As a family (son 21, daughter 25, mom 57, dad, 59, grandma 78, sister 55) we did an Intro to Handgun class with Sierra Matoza. It was amazing. I was nervous going into it, but the way that Sierra works you up to shooting, her level of knowledge and her command of the situation made me and my entire family very comfortable. If any business wants to compete with the big box stores and online brokers, there's only one thing that matters...customer service. I dropped my pistol off for some simple gun smithing. The individual who helped me said it would take 2-5 days. No biggie. That afternoon they called me and said that my gun was ready to be picked up. As long as RGR holds their values with connecting with their customers, I will continue to do business with them. Unfortunately Reno has some gun shops that are struggling, and it doesn't take a genius to figure it out. If you can't make a simple phone call and connect with your customers, you're only hurting your business. read more

This place gets a resounding YES! We took the kids and got the private room with 4 shooting lanes. Bill was our range master and he's amazing! He was so helpful and patient. Had a lot of tips and pointers to make the experience one we'll be repeating. In fact there's a membership or two in the works. The trip was for and on my daughters b-day...AND on her bday she got to shoot a German MP40, a piece of history. This was recommended for its smooth shoot. It was a hit! They offer a wide array of handguns and rifles to rent while you're there. The guys there are so helpful and knowledgeable, as you'd expect. The employee that came forward to help me was too busy to take the time to help me get the paperwork on the computer in larger print so that I could read it. I did not have my glasses and I asked him nicely with no luck. There was no way I was going to sign anything without reading it first. I was very frustrated that the gentleman was not willing to help at all. I had listed two handguns with an auction house that uses this business to display the guns so that bidders could look at them. At the end of the auction it showed that both guns sold. When I saw that I did not get funds for one of the guns I went in Reno Guns and Range to pick it up. No one bothered to tell me that I should pick it up. I had no idea that when I listed the guns I gave up ownership. Now this may not be this businesses fault but then again they agreed to work with the auction house. There was so much paperwork to get the guns back and it was a good thing I had my CCP otherwise I would have had to do the background check again. And even though the gun was not picked up by the bidder when it closed as being sold, I had to pay $50 to Reno Guns and Range. This really got me as I paid them $80 to check out the gun before I listed it with the auction. Nothing was clear. And no one wanted to take the time to deal with me in order to get my gun back. I have the gun after a real hassle. I am still looking to buy two handguns and I won't be buying them here. read more

This was so fun! They had 2 safety guards inside the range making sure everyone was using the guns correctly. They were wearing vests which made me feel like I should have one too lol! We rented 3 guns and got a few boxes of bullets - the 4 of us cost $250! More $$$ than I thought - but worth it! They don't let u bring your own bullets if ur renting guns from them FYI! But if u bring ur own gun and bullets u can just pay for the lane and u can shoot :). Thinking about buying my own handgun (not the purple one I need one with more power) read more

Hello, I've bought at least 3-4 guns (maybe more ), a suppressor & several accessories from Reno guns & Range. I also enjoy their RIPL friendly competition matches. Super fun. Customer service is usually on point with friendly people but tonight when I walked in around 6pm on 1/12/26 looking to only zero my dot, the guy at the register looked hesitant as if he didn't want to let me shoot. Then he explained to me I only had 45min left which I was already aware of since I've been shooting here for 1 year now. Then he decided to tell me my wife would have to pay just to watch me shoot which was brand new to me because she's never had to pay just to watch. Literally every single time I've shot here, you only pay if you plan to shoot. Every other customer service rep has let my wife go inside with me to watch me shoot. I am highly disappointed. I respectfully declined to shoot and not sure if I'll return again to use their range. RAC guns & ammo is a 2min drive from me and I've always drove to Reno because I enjoyed shooting their but, looks like I'll be going to RAC gun & ammo now for my needs. This is just one bad experience but it really bothered me . So instead of 5 stars, I'll give it 4. read more

From the inquiry to the booking Mark at RGR was great and took care of me. When we got their B-Rad (Brad) helped our group out on the range and special events area. Brad was super kind, informative and a blast to hang with all afternoon. The special events area is killer for a small party like ours of 7 people to even a large group of 30+. Plenty of seats at tables, couches, pool table, large tv, a nice kitchen and more. The separated 4 lanes that were attached to the range area were great to give us the privacy we wanted but also access to go in and out with our group. The selection of guns to choose from was great, and the ammo prices aren't terrible. I'd certainly come back and I am actively planning it now. read more

Membership fees to belong here are a bit more pricey than others but it may be worth the extra costs. . The firing range target dispatch and retreval system was excellent, with close up monitor to show where your shots have penetrated the target. Great experience! I booked a private event for my bachelor party and my group had a blast. I brought my own firearms but wanted to have a variety as most of my friends have only shot a few times. Bought some magazines and had to return them they took the return but just for situational awareness they have a 20% restocking fee for returns so you do not get a full refund but that's not what the 2 stars is for. After returning the mags, just overheard the employee at the counter tell a patron that they have a pool going on to mark all the stupid shit customers do at the firing range cause most of them are from California. As I walked around the store it was the same complaints from the other employees how they dispise the patrons that come there to shoot. They were acting as if their jobs don't rely on customers. Recently came here with my husband and some friends. This place is so nice, open, and clean. It's a pretty big place, so you never feel overcrowded or stuffy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Which is so nice when a gun range can be intimidating or overwhelming for some people. They really are there to help you with any questions you may have and seem to enjoy working there.
