Good thai food. We have eaten from here a dozen times and they are consistent. Yummy thai iced tea.

This restaurant has a serious problem. They don't like to serve black people in the restaurant. I ordered takeout from them and that went fine. However, on the two occasions, when I visited the restaurant in person I was unable to get service. The first time I waited about 15 minutes before my presence was acknowledged. Today, the waitress ran back-and-forth to outside tables about four or five times before she acknowledged me. Then she says I'll be right back and she runs to the back of the restaurant. This time I waited about eight minutes and then I left. This issue really needs to be addressed properly by management. It doesn't need to be sugarcoated. Perhaps there is a cultural problem with the server, management and owners in that they don't value all people as customers. read more

Very good spot to get your Thai fix. Clean and modern looking and a nice staff. I ordered the Pad See Ew lunch special. I chose the dumpling over the spring roll and soup over the salad. The soup was Tom Yum perfectly sour and spicy, the dumpling was so good that I wished there were two. Pad see ew normally is a flat noodle but they ran out and used a egg noodle instead but the flavor was still there. read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would. The food here is not elevated whatsoever. Their drunken noodle dish tasted grainy and salty. The only way you probably wouldn't notice the terrible taste is if you were actually drunk. My friend ordered the Panang curry and said it was the worst curry she ever had. The curry tasted isolated. The curry itself tasted like it was cooked separately from the vegetables and the meat that came with it. The chicken in the curry was dry, and the string beans had a rubbery texture. The reviewers who gave this place 4 to 5 stars do not know what good Thai cuisine is. They are either paid, or friends/relatives. read more

Small but elegant restaurant; the decor is so beautiful you cannot help but notice and marvel at it. You don't often find this kind of pleasant atmosphere in a shopping center cafe. Menu is mixed between traditional Bangkok favorites, specialties and some that are just tweaked a bit. My partner does not enjoy peanuts or coconut, two of the flavors that make me love Thai food. But this place offers enough variety to be able to avoid those ingredients. We had to try the pad Thai and chicken satay of course. But instead of pineapple fried rice, I went for Thai spring rolls in plum sauce. The food was all delicious, presented beautifully. And while our satay was a little under done, we sent it back and it was returned perfectly grilled. Their peanut sauce and cucumber salad are scrumptious. And of course, as is traditional in most all Thai restaurants, the service was primo polite and sweet; such nice people. I really enjoyed my experience here. Terrific Thai food. This restaurant came very highly recommended to me. Even though it is located in a strip mall it is more upscale than your average Thai take out and worth the splurge for a night out! The food here is top notch. The spring rolls and calamari were tasty apps. I enjoyed the pineapple fried rice, massaman curry and the pork belly entree! Last but not least, the flaming fried iced cream is a nice take on a classic dessert. The server we had was very good and the place itself has an enjoyable feel. Really yummy food! Place is in a nice plaza with plenty of parking. Interior is very nicely decorated and comfortable. We went on a week night and were seated right away without a reservation. We got the Chicken pad Thai and Green Curry with shrimp, both under $20 each. There were other higher priced items on the menu as well, but I wasn't sure if they were worth it given this was my first visit. Both dishes were delicious! Very flavorful and portion was perfect for dinner. The service, however, seemed to be a little short staffed- but they were still very attentive and efficient. read more

This is a solid 3.5 restaurant. Beautiful inside, kind service and tasty food. The service was good. No issues with my noisy kids. However, the place feels contrived to me -- as if it's trying to be Thai more so than it really is. This is a common issue I have with Thai places. Fried rice was soggy but pad Thai was perfect. Curries were just right. First time I've ever seen my 2 year old eating spicy curry...but even she loved it. I hope to be back again to try more dishes. read more

As a Thai food novice, I thought it would be fun to check out this place for their $12 lunch special, due to hearing about it on the radio and in Yelp reviews. It is very nice inside, and was not crowded at 1pm. The service was quick and attentive, after being seated by the owner himself. The salad with ginger sauce was lunch size, but fresh and crispy. The Drunken Noodle with chicken was delicious and with just enough "heat" for me, after requesting it to be mild. The spring roll was quite tiny (about the size of a thumb), so I will try the soup next time instead. The sauteed veggies with pork was good, as per my husband, who doesn't like anything too spicy. Really excited to find a great Thai spot finally in LI. The ambiance is beautiful! The meals were delicious, everything had a lot of flavors and portions were perfect. It really isn't sharable unless you are sharing two different portions with just one other person. However, the drinks kind of lacked their scotch tasted like rum and we were not a fan. The service wasn't as great either. It was a bit on the slower side, took the waitress about 15 minutes to come back with the check when we asked her for it, and then another 15 minutes to pick it up. I've read a few reviews of Sawasdee, who compare it to, like, the best Thai place they ever went to ever like in the back streets of Bangkok. Plainview - is not - Bangkok. There are no Thai places within a reasonable distance of Plainview with food as good as Sawasdee. Better than Thai Flavors in Bethpage (and TF is pretty good Thai, IMO). I recommend the yellow curry, the glass noodles dish (Pad Woon Sen?), and the golden bags appetizer, if only b/c they look awesome (they taste awesome, too). The Thai iced tea is pretty on point, too. Sawasdee can be pricey, which is why I recommended the cheaper stuff - not just b/c it's delicious, but b/c you get a good value (I've only gotten the take-out). The decor is rather fancy, it seems a little out of place, but I'd rather that than eat in a dump. If I were rating Sawasdee on its merits, I'd probably give it four stars - it doesn't do Thai food as well as, say, House of Dosas does Indian. But Indian joints are a dime a dozen in Hicksville - like I said above, there are few good Thai places, and Sawasdee is a great Thai place. So, five stars. read more

The wine was sub par but the waitress was kind enough to let us taste practically the entire menu before ordering. The reason why this place received only one star was because when another waitress came to pick up the check, she snatched the check and said rudely informed us " the restaurant closed 30 mins ago" and it was 10:30 on a Friday night! I came here for the first time on a Thursday evening at 7:00 after seeing a post on Instagram for their Wine and Thai Tasting! I didn't know what to expect but my goodness we were impressed! The owner, Jim was extremely hospitable, attentive and knowledgeable. He, along with wine expert, Alyssa, guided us through an absolutely delicious wine and food pairing. We tried several dishes as we were a group of 4 but my absolute favorites were the papaya salad, the Panang curry, and Tom kha gai soup! Amazing Thai restaurant that has been opened since July 2016 in the old China View location. Beautifully decorated with a purple theme (my favorite color) and appropriate background music. An attractive bar is on the left upon entering and dining is in the back. The cocktails are amazing! I highly recommend The Killer B a spicy gin martini. I was trying to be good and have wine only. I ordered a Chardonnay which came nice and chilled with beautiful glassware and small carafe. When I tasted my son's Killer B, I had to have one immediately. I asked our waitress, Tik, for one. I was thinking that my chilled wine would be warm by the time I finished the cocktail and wouldn't enjoy it as much with the food. Here is where the impeccable service came in. Tik read my mind and asked if she could take my glass of wine and carafe to chill while I was enjoying the cocktail. Terrific stuff! One staple I love about Thai food is the hot and sour soup for a first course. They did not disappoint with a choice of shrimp, chicken or vegetable. I opted for the vegetable. Nice hot and spicy. Hey, I was trying to be good. Except for The Killer B that is. Oh well. For my main course I had the Jumbo Prawn . Yeah, 3 of them with a dipping sauce. Superb! Happy hour is from 4-6 open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. I'll be back as it's walkable from my house. Next time 2 Killer B's and dessert and must try the spicy basil Thai fried rice. Very delicious food and nicely decorated interior. Only minus was the price. It will definitely be more expensive than your average Thai food, but for the service and decor I wouldn't mind paying a little extra. Food suggestions: dumplings, bbq pork, pad thai, drunken noodles, massaman curry, massaman curry with bbq beef or pork, whole cooked red snapper. Also they give you sparkling water on the house as well. As a person who loves seltzer I do appreciate this. The bathrooms are also so damn clean and nicely renovated unlike other places. I found out this place opened a few days ago and couldn't wait to try it. I was reading some of the reviews here on Yelp and I read about the Thai burger and I really couldn't wait to try it anymore. So, I called today for a take out order and after inhaling my meal, I am here to write a review! I called in the order and the person I spoke to was super friendly. She told me about 10-15 minutes for the Thai burger. I was greeted at the restaurant by a friendly man (who I later heard is named Marco) who knew my name when I told him I placed a takeout order. There's a nice ambience to the restaurant, nice looking bar, etc. The order took a little longer than they told me, but that's okay, they are a new place and they were pretty busy. Marco apologized and kept me updated as to how long the food would be, but I don't mind waiting for quality food! Onto the food, the burger was definitely unique. Lots of different flavors going on, if I could name them I would but I don't know thai spices that well (sorry!). The burger has sriracha mayo if I'm not mistaken and red raw onions (which I LOVE!). I have never had anything like it, a thai burger mashup. I will definitely be back to try the green curry soon(my favorite Thai dish!). Just beware (Sept 2016) They are repaving the mall parking lot so parking is limited. the sit and stalk people walking to their cars situation. Upon walking inside, you are instantly greeted and the staff is beyond helpful and oh so nice! They check up on you and are easy to find in case you need anything. The Food is Great! The Lunch Special Appetizers are yummy: Thai Spring Roll, Thai Dumpling, Chicken Tom Yum, Green Salad w/Ginger Dressing. You can't go wrong with any choice. I don't know whats in it but it started out clear pink on top and ended up milk white on the bottom. Very refreshing! I wish they had the Tamarind one to try! The one drawback is the scent inside the restaurant. From the moment you open the door, you feel like you fell into a pool of lemon Lysol. The cleaning product scent is quite overpowering, to the point it is very distracting. On the plus side, you know the restaurant is clean! On a side note, the restrooms are Niiiiice!
