Thai is now my favorite cuisine (dropping Mexican to 2nd place) so I'm always trying new places. This restaurant is THE best dining experience I've had in recent times (on LI) and I can't wait to return. 1) The decor is STUNNING! Colorful and stylish, but not at all tacky or over-the-top as many places are. The purple theme is beautiful and the seating is interesting and comfortable. 2) The staff is incredible! My server, Kumal, was unbelievably helpful, knowledgeable, as well as amusing and friendly. I'm often ignored when I dine alone, but Kumal and I "hit it off" and he made me feel we were friends. Everything he suggested was perfect--from the wine (Kung Fu Girl Riesling) to my delicious dish (Pad Med Mamuang with Cashew Nuts/Chicken and Jasmine Rice), and then my flaming dessert (can't recall the name; unfortunately desserts aren't listed on their online PDF menu) which I think was Fried Ice Cream (banana or vanilla? with raspberry sauce)! See my pic! 3) I know my usual favorite Thai dishes, but I wanted to experiment and learn new foods. That's exactly what I did and next time I'll try something else. I particularly love that every dish can be customized for spice/heat levels--and this is offered and encouraged. 4) The prices were slightly higher than usual for me, but definitely not crazy expensive, considering the portions, taste, service, and ambiance. 5) Everything came quickly--there was practically no wait between ordering and courses. 6) Since the restaurant's in a shopping center, parking is not at all a problem. read more

My dad and I came here for dinner last Friday, at around 6 PM. We were seated right away but the space quickly filled up afterward! The inside is very nice and has a modern look to it. The service was great throughout our meal. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times to make sure we were enjoying our meal. We ordered the curry puffs to start and then I had the drunken noodles (which were customized to be as mild as possible) and my dad ordered the Crispy Whole Fish (Red Snapper). The price is not listed for this entree on the menu (market price) but it cost us $38. Even though it also has a 'spicy' elephant sign next to it, we had it customized to be as mild as possible as well. For dessert we ordered the Mango Cheesecake and the Mango with Sticky Rice. The Mango with Sticky Rice is listed as Thailand's most famous dessert so we gave it a try! The rice was delicious and the mango definitely complimented it's flavor. I would recommend sharing it, as it was very, very sweet and personally I feel it would be too much for one person to eat after having a full meal! As bad as it gets! Bland thai iced tea, virtually inedible food, and terrible service. I'm honestly baffled about how this place has such good reviews. I came here for dinner and was impressed by the sleek and modern look of the place, and was a big fan of the elephant mural on the wall. That was the last time I was impressed for the rest of the evening. Our server was sweet but our food took actual decades to come out. Diners who arrived and ordered after us actually received their food before we did. When we finally got our red curry dish, it came with chicken instead of the shrimp we had ordered. Excellent service, celebrated a birthday. Dessert (fried ice cream) was on the house plus they turned down the lights and sing to you so that was a nice gesture. Ordered tom yum soup, wings and curry puff as appetizers Was all delicious. For entrees, we ordered Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Jumbo Prawns, and green curry with chicken. I was hoping the serving size of the prawns was a bit bigger; only 3 pieces. Green curry was spicy but lacking salt so made it hard for the flavors to come together. Ambiance overall was very bright and welcoming and restaurant was clean. Visiting family in LI, they recommended this place as they had been before. Was not disappointed. Nice ambiance and great service. Some in the party had chicken dishes but I try vegetarian duck at new to me Thai places as a benchmark. This was one of the best. I added it to pad Thai, which was also delicious. Sawasdee was a great choice on my lunch break. The restaurant itself is very modern, white floors and walls with purple accents throughout the restaurant. The bar area up front looks really nice and they had a good selection. The lunch menu at Sawasdee is perfect, giving you the option to select a stir fried noodle/fried rice dish, a curry dish, or a sautéed dish. Each type of dish has different variations, so you have plenty of choices but it's not overwhelming. Every lunch dish comes with a soup or salad to start, and a choice of an appetizer. I went with the Spicy Thai Basil sautéed dish with a Thai Spring Roll appetizer and Chicken Tom Yum for my soup. The soup was really good and had a very spicy kick, so if you do not like spice I would not recommend. The spring roll was a sweet and refreshing way to help cool down my mouth after the soup. The main dish was amazing! It came with a big portion of vegetables and chicken, and was coated in a delicious basil sauce. The dish came with a scoop of rice on the side, which was perfect for mixing in with the chicken and vegetables. I left feeling extremely full, and I did not break the bank. The whole meal was $12! The quality of food paired with friendly service and affordable price makes this place a go-to for Thai food. Will recommend to friends, and I hope to be back soon for dinner. read more

Very high quality food and polite service. This is a great place to go after visiting IKEA Hicksville. The decor is nice as well. They have a wine and cocktail list and currently have outdoor seating. Expect about $40 per person for a full meal, or a little more if you have drinks. read more

Tried three things: Mango Salad Chicken Pad Thai Chicken Drunken Noodles Mango salad was good without the raw onions. The onions were quite pungent with a whiff of sweaty socks. Chicken Pad Thai was actually pretty good. Drunken Noodles were dry and not full of flavor like most places. While the restaurant is clean and modern with good attentive service, I do not recommend this spot for food. It's average at best. read more

Sleek, modern decor, works well for the small space. Friendly service . I had the Chicken PadWoonSen. Unfortunately I had to send it back to get it recooked as the chicken was a bit raw. The second time around it was cooked perfectly, with terrific flavor. The Thai red Shiraz Wine was also surprisingly Smooth and nice. Cons: The chunks of tomatoes had a stale after taste. Not sure if this was due to it being recooked. Plus the initial undercooked chicken. I would Like to give this place a second chance at a different time and try another dish. To add insult to injury the manager offers 10% off only to waste another 15 minutes to process. Avoid this place like the plague unless you are willing to spend all day waiting for a meal. read more

This was our first visit to Sawasdee Thai Elevated. It was Good Friday, during Passover, so the restaurant was a little quieter than usual. Turned out to be a great stroke of luck. Our waitress was able to spend a lot of time with us and guide us to try some menu items we may not have thought of. For appetizers, we had the Thai Wings (crispy and delicious!) and the vegetable dumplings, also very tasty. Our entrees were Chicken Pad Prik King and the must-try Spaghetti Lee Mao. Wine and cocktails were excellent, too. Excellent food and service and they honor the Foodie Card here. Please pay them a visit! read more

Ran in here for a quick bite did not know how good it was going in. One of the few Thai restaurants that tries to jazz up the feel with the purple theme throughout. Was good for a casual run in and I am sure that it would be even better with a night out. Will definitely be back. read more

The food here was underwhelming and too salty/oily. For the price you pay, portions (proteins) disappointing. I guess for its location, it can be considered "authentic" by local patrons. Got the drunken noodle and spicy wings. When I called to order I asked what they would recommend and they said chicken drunken noodle so I went with that option. I always try the chicken wings just to gauge the flavor option at Asian restaus. For dinner in plainview a $12 fried chicken wings (6) ???? It's a bit steep. Charge me $15 for the noodles I get it Dinner entree was the same as a lunch size. So def hit this spot up for lunch going here for dinner would be a huge price hike. The bartender (gentleman with glasses and a goatee) is incredibly Rude the minute we walked in he told us they are booked and yet they were not, I get it if they were closing and show up but that wasn't the case here, it was 6pm on a Sunday. We've been here a couple of times and got exceptional service, sometimes the owner/manager came to our table and greeted us. This time we took our family with us and quite honestly got embarrassed by the bartender, not the host or hostess. I'm never going back it's just sad that owners hire incompetent people to represent their brand.
