This may not be the fanciest Chinese restaurant or the place everyone calls the absolute best, but it is easily my favorite. There is something special about having a dependable neighborhood spot that always delivers exactly what you are craving. I came home from Italy today after a long trip, and before I even landed, I knew this had to be my first meal back in the States. After days of incredible Italian food, all I wanted was my local Chinese comfort food, and once again, they did not miss. The vegetable fried rice with General Tso's chicken was perfect. The boneless spare ribs were sweet, tender, and packed with flavor. The egg roll was crispy and even better dipped into their delicious house made duck sauce. The beef lo mein came loaded with mushrooms and baby corn, the chicken wings were cooked extra crispy exactly how I like them, and the crab rangoons were hot, crunchy, creamy, and completely addictive. I drenched everything in hot sauce, sriracha, chili oil, and Thai spice, and it was absolute perfection. Every bite reminded me why this place is always one of my first stops when I come home. There is nothing like returning from a long trip and enjoying the comfort of your favorite neighborhood meal. I am genuinely grateful to have a local restaurant that is consistently good, generous, reliable, and satisfying. They never miss, and they always manage to hit the spot. This is my local go to Chinese take out spot. It's right across the street from where I live, I've been coming here for years. It's remained consistent with amazing food. The owner always cooks the food exactly how we ask following our exact instructions. Service is great here. We always opt in for multiple dishes when getting take out and split everything accordingly. Their ribs, chicken wings, general tso, scallion pancakes and beef lo mein are always on point. I prefer my food to always be as spicy as they can make it, which they try to accommodate to. That added with my own hot sauces always makes this a nice great meal especially when it's a bit colder out lol. Their prices are about the same as any other. We have been taking out our Chinese food from Golden China for over 30 years. Lately the food and the presentation has gone severely downhill. Chow mein is watery, sweet and sour dishes have no vegetable (broccoli). Taste of the many dishes we've ordered have gone bland. We've been coming here for years and have always thought the people who worked there were extremely unfriendly; however, the food was always good. Recently my mom ordered Hot & Sour Soup and it had a rock in it (the owners said it must have been from the mushrooms). When my mom called to tell them, they were, as usual, extremely unfriendly and tried to defend themselves instead of being caring and sympathetic as they should probably have been. They did, however, tell her to come into the restaurant so they could give her her money back. For a $30 dollar meal they threw her a $5 bill for the soup and continued to argue with her about how she was wrong even though she had the rock in her hand and showed it to all of them. Extremely unprofessional and that is not how you should run a business. Will never be back again and I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I love this place. It took me about 18 months to find a decent Chinese place after moving to Long Island... and this, my friends, is it. I am a big fan of the pan fried wantons in garlic sauce (seriously, just get them), the boneless spare ribs, and pretty much anything else they cook there. I also love watching the show when I go to pick things up. For first timers, they may seem kind of gruff at first, but once you go back a few times you can even get the older gentleman to smile at you (shhhh, don't tell anyone I said that). Delicious fresh Chinese take out is hard to come by! I stopped in here for take out and was beyond happy! I ordered steamed vegetable dumplings that were amazing. They were overstuffed with the freshest vegetables and it was a huge portion with 8 giant dumplings. The spring roll was perfectly crispy and not greasy. Probably the best, most consistant chinese takeout in the land of Plainview Chinese take out places. They serve good quality fresh food and we have never had a bad meal there. The service and demeanor of the managment and staff leaves mush to be desired but there is a nice person at the front counter that at least tries to be pleasent. This place is quality but nothing spectacular. We ordered the chicken with broccoli, steamed dumplings, pork fried rice, and the szechuan beef. The chicken with broccoli was good, and I really loved the sauce but I feel the broccoli was a little overcooked. The dumplings were typical chinese dumplings, and were definitely very tasty. The szechuan beef was also very good and came with shredded carrots, celery, scallions and some other vegetables I think, but I think the dish could have had more beef in it. The pork fried rice was also pretty good but just like the rest the meal it was not the greatest I've ever had. So I think 3 stars is a pretty reasonable review for this place but I would have given it 3.5 if I could. I will definitely order from here again as it was a quality place, nearby to where I live, and was not that expensive. read more
