1-3-26. Steamed pork bun, shrimp and pork dim sum, shrimp shumai and seafood shumai.

1-3-26. This place has been around for quite some time, but this was my first time visiting. We ordered an appetizer sampler which came with shrimp shumai, seafood shumai and pork and shrimp dim sum. Also ordered the steamed pork bun. They were all very good. Hot and sour soup was delicious and the Hong Kong wonton soup was very tasty as well. Beef and broccoli entree was excellent. Beef chow fun was really good....... It had a great wok flavor and was extremely tasty and satisfying. Wait staff was excellent...... very friendly and attentive. We had an enjoyable meal in a comfortable, casual setting. Apparently they have a dim sum menu but that was not available when I was there. I am assuming it's a lunch time thing. I certainly will be returning to try some other dishes.

This is a great place to have authentic Chinese food. They also do take-out which is what I did today. I ordered the shrimp pan fried noodle, yung chow fried rice and half fried chicken. The combination of these 3 dishes is so delicious!

Upon further review, the food is 5-star worthy! The decor may leave something to be desired, but the quality and taste of the dishes make up for it.

This is a solid stop for dim sum. Been coming for over 15 years here. My daughter loves the rice wrapped in banana leaves. I love the pork ribs and it's always busy and very traditional.

Delicious Cantonese style Chinese food. Perfectly seasoned and wok hey present in every dish. The oil could have been a bit fresher. Service was very attentive and kind.

I recently had dim sum at another place, and all I could think was how much I missed fortune wheel! My whole family have been loyal customers here since they opened, with my parents even having their engagement party here back in the 90's. We come to fortune wheel for lunches, dinners, birthdays, graduations, and of course Chinese new year. Sometimes they have off days, usually if it's not crowded and they're not cranking out as much food, but the dim sum service at fortune wheel is almost always fantastic. For dim sum you have to get their foo juk. It's one of my all time favorite foods, basically a tofu skin roll filled with pork, mushrooms, and veggies. The shrimp and scallion dumplings are amazing too, and when they have them, the fried shrimp balls are what dreams are made of!!! I also love their classic siu mai, baked char siu bao, and triangular char siu pastries that flake apart and melt in your mouth. The har gao are delicious, and so are their red bean filled sesame balls. Sautéed pea shoots, baby bok choy, and Chinese broccoli are always fresh, garlicky, and crunchy- never overcooked. Their dan tat are very pleasant, and when we're done feasting we've received fortune cookies, orange slices and lychees for a light refreshing dessert. Their dinner options are equally fantastic. Recently for my grandfather's 80th birthday we had a big banquet with all his favorites, and they pulled out all the stops. Of course we had the long hand pulled noodles, a whole fried fish with meat that fell off the bone, Chinese broccoli, fried rice with chicken and vegetable stir fry, eggplant with shrimp (forgetting the name of the dish), shrimp balls, and a delicious juicy soy sauce chicken served rather amusingly with a side of Pringles. Their jasmine tea is also the best, and they've got the good teapots that allow minimal leaves and flowers into your cup. Inside the restaurant is very homey with prints and engraved mirrors that make me feel like I'm in my grandparents' living room- in the best way!!

Such a great authentic Chinese restaurant in Long Island! I came here for a gathering and the staff works quick! The food was delicious and I especially loved their Peking pork and fish. The portions were large and flavorful as well. I would definitely come back here to try out their dim sum! It's hard finding spots like this out here I think, but this is a spot I'd love going to often.

This place is a cute little gem. I love their dim sum. Have only ordered to go but they have a nice dining room. I'll dine in with a group one day. One interesting fact. The servers were mature Chinese men. I liked that. Reminded me of talking to my grandpa.

Been meaning to try this place for awhile, we finally did. We weren't even impressed with the food nor the service. Some of the dishes weren't fully cooked or had a after taste it. The buns were good but the roast pork pastry were way to buttery. - Sesame Balls with lotus filling - Chicken feet overly cooked and no taste - Steam spare ribs has after taste - Beef Balls under cooked - Coconut pudding - Sticky rice was the only thing that is good Overall the prices were outrageous. Definitely not worth going back.

Fortune Wheel a place I stop on occasion when in area. It's been here for many years. Food always fresh, help yourself to packets, chopsticks etc. Gave order for takeout Rainbow Chicken with rice. Delicious.

I'm not sure if it's because now im apart of the Island people or I can't remember the last time I had decent dim sum. But, I have to say I'm glad I came across to this spot and trust me there are a lot of deceiving ones out there. Here's a list of what makes it what it is; 1. Rude Canto Waiters (which is the norm) I don't mind them being rude but, forgetting orders and not paying attention to your surroundings when you want the bill makes me feel like just walking out. 2. Food is key. They are definitely on point! Straight up legit dim sum. Is it unique, modern, updated dimsum? NO! It isn't! But it is the classics that you won't get anywhere else...well that I've explored thus far. 3. It's next to freaking BJ's. After a morning of dimsum. You can get your walk on next door! Finishing up your errands over the weekend without driving far. Overall, I only gave it 3 stars due to the fact they threw us in some dark corner and with steps which means none of the dimsum ladies came and when we ordered the things we wanted also never came and letting the waiters know what we wanted ALSO never came...did I also mentioned we asked for the bill and usually they just do the math and you pay up front. Instead the guy took my bill and disappeared for like 10 mins. Was it busy? NOPE! We went near the end of rush which should've been manageable. But even with all that nonsense. I'd still come for the food. Just need better seating!

This restaurant is next to Bj's wholesale store, they serve Dim Sum. And dinner. As you walk in there are tanks with live fish, crab, and lobster. Saturday and Sunday they have rolling carts that go around with different Dim Sum so you can pick out what you want. During weekday you need to ordered from menu and they will make to order, which I think is much better than on weekend, the food comes out hot and freshly made. We ordered pan fried noodles with chicken, and a shrimp patty with taro root thinly slice and deep fried, so good, fried shrimp balls, sesame ball with lotus paste filling, and e-fu noodle bland and too much moisture. Would come here during weekday and have made to order Dim Sum, that comes out hot and fresh.

Once a year during our family visit, it's a must stop here to Fortune Wheel. It was a bit busy here on Memorial Day weekend but as a party of 3, we didn't have to wait long at all. My uncle is a regular here so he knows what to order to please my palate. He ordered sliced conch that was steamed (I think) with bean sprouts and green onions. It was really good and fresh. Not fishy, not tough, a very clean taste. We also had chive and shrimp dim sum along with braised chicken feet, veggie wrapped in bean curd and dry beef chow fun. The chow fun needed a bit more salt and some wok hey. I wish we had gotten the soft shell crabs because we just can't get them like this in Cali. Next time! A great diversity of customers enjoying authentic Cantonese cuisine. Parking is pretty easy as the restaurant is in the shopping center next to BJ's. Please continue to support your local businesses.

Ask the Community - Fortune Wheel

When do they have the dim sum carts? Is it only on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) or only on Sunday?

    Following.

Any idea how much the steamed pork with salted duck egg runs about?

I think the prices are $4 small, $5 medium and $6 for large and they should be small or medium.

Do they serve dim sum during the week?

I believe they have some items you can order off of the regular menu. The carts are only on the weekend.

Global Buffet is a huge restaurants inside a large brick building and is hard to miss. There is plenty of parking as it sits in a large shopping area. We came on a random weekday and I was surprised how busy this place was. We were a slightly large group so it did take a minute for them to put some tables together. Customer service was great from start to finish. Our table stayed clean and our drinks stayed full. My uncle footed the bill, but I glanced at the prices and they are very reasonable here. The buffet setup is massive. I've honestly only seen bigger in Vegas. They had about 3 rows of foods. On top of that, off to the side, they have salad and dessert bars, a hibachi station, and a large sushi station. As the name of the restaurant suggests, the offerings are truly global. They have a variety of different cuisines but the main focus is Chinese food. I had a flight to catch after this meal so I took it a little easy on my intake. I started off with sushi. For a buffet, the sushi was actually pretty decent. Set your expectations correctly and you will enjoy it. Everything else I tried throughout the buffet was good. No complaints from anyone in our party. Overall, for a Chinese buffet, this spot was not bad at all. I wouldn't seek it out or feel compelled to come back, but would not complain if the family brought us back here again.

I wish I could say better things about this place. I had high hopes going in. The building is huge, ut the tables are water damaged and the chairs are worn out. I will never come back here. My fiance said it best, the food is like warm left overs and not in the nice way. The food is mediocre at best. I am not one to spit out food, especially in a restaurant. I unfortunately had to spit things out with 3 different items I tried. Two were unable to be chewed. One was a spicy beef, I could not bite into the meat or cut it. The second calamari, rubber and hard, just don't. The last was a cake a nepolian I belive and it was stale and the cream was oddly solid. There was some decent food but nothing to write home about. The service isn't bad, but it was definitely awkward. The staff is attentive, but they will stand over you and speak to each other in their native language as if you are not there. I would say avoid this place.

The dish was presented traditionally with the all the toppings. The duck sauce was also perfect. A beautiful dish that fulfilled the 3 categories of Chinese cooking: color, fragrance and taste. Our next favorite in presentation and taste is the pork belly with pumpkin. The presentation of the dish is eye popping. The pork belly is unmistakably cooked by a master chef. The texture is chewy (skin), soft (fat) and dense (meat). The sauce may look over the top, but it adds to the silkiness of the pieces. The "fat" is not greasy. It's puzzling how they rendered the grease. I grew up eating this dish and cook it too. This dish by far is the best I've had. Service is fantastic; helpful and attentive.
