So while this pandemic was in full effect, not many Chinese places were open, including the orient....but I found out this place was open and this place is truly a hole in the wall. But it was open....So in the spirit of supporting their business and being open to offer their services they deserve the 5 stars. The food was actually very good and everything seem fresh. They also were keeping within the CDC guidelines and protecting the consumer. Last time I ate here was well over 4 years ago so I figured it was time to give them another shot! Guess what? The food was good! I got shrimp with eggplant in garlic sauce, Szechuan wontons, wonton soup, fried rice, brown rice and pineapple chicken. Shrimp with eggplant had a very slight kick of heat and the shrimp were a nice size. Sauce was a little on the greasy side, but was flavorful. Wonton soup broth was lighter in color and salt than most places, but their wontons are tasty. Pineapple chicken was a nice light dish and reminded me of Thai food. Fried rice was not greasy at all and filled with veggies and meat everyone loved it. We almost thought the Szechuan wontons was a soup because it came in a large container filled with sauce along with small shrimp. It was basically just wontons in a brown sauce, they weren't bad, but wouldn't order again. If you're local Ho Hing is a good spot for some fast Chinese food. read more

It wasn't as horrible here as everyone is saying, and considering the reviews are old I'll add my piece. I came in here for take-out and placed my order at the counter. My meal was done within 10 minutes so I can't complain there. What I can say is, there is no curb appeal at all. The place is in serious need of a makeover. It looks very sketchy both inside and out. En route to Levittown my friend had a craving for a Pu Pu Platter. Not even knowing what that is, we conveniently passed a big sign that said HO HING. Knowing "Ho Hing" could only mean one thing, I pulled into the parking lot and was greeted by a big sign that said "Ho Hing Kitchen." Upon entering the place, I immediately noticed the delicious Chinese food aroma, emanating from the kitchen. Sometimes, you just walk into a Chinese place and it has that bad aroma, or that fishy smell. So, he orders the Pu Pu platter, and the woman who barely understood English, attempted to ask him something ("say ugo"). Neither of us understood, but later realized she asked "to stay or to go. " At that point she got very nasty, and asked us to sit down, but the chairs were broken and dirty, so I just moved back a bit, thinking she felt intimidated. Almost 5 seconds later, she rushed out from behind the counter and smacked me on the arm several times shouting "Sit Sit Sit!!" As I was about to call Nassau PD, the chef put the Pu Pu Platter in a bag, and we got out of there. She never asked us to pay, and after being assaulted by a woman who looked like Mao Tse Dong's mother, there was no way I was letting him. Guess what, the Pu Pu Plate sucked. We ended up stopping at an Applebees. Definitely stay away, though should you want to pay her a visit, there is a parking lot on premises. Hi Ho Hing! read more

I decided to get food from here out of desperation.on my way to work,late for work, pressed for time I ordered steamed chicken and broccoli. Pretty simple eh? Not, 2-3 pieces of chicken broccoli was all mush, rice was mush. Definitely will starve next time instead of ordering here. read more

Since we moved out here from Queens three years ago this is been our local Go to Chinese restaurant every time we've ordered everything is been plentiful fresh and very tasty the staff in there was courteous and always smiling. Back to the food the lunch specials are absolutely perfect and hit the spot eggrolls Krispy not dripping grease and oil super hot and fresh. The wonton soup is good egg drop soup hot and sour soup everything made fresh and also piping hot. The General sows chicken is fresh chicken you can tell it's not that cheap chicken that some Chinese restaurants offer you nice thick white meat chunks of chicken breast I love getting the spareribs also lotta meat on the bones and very tasty surprised this place doesn't have more reviews because it's always busy after 6 o'clock with people taking out food to go home the only negative and I still won't take a star away is that they do not deliver it's a pick up please try it outI'm sure you won't be disappointed we haven't been for three years and this is a family of six read more

This place has recently changed owners and has definately gone DOWN-HILL ever since. We did takeout when the place changed hands and the portions are SMALLER, the food is definately not worth the cost. Ive been here before they changed owners and it was my go to place. Now its horrible. I only went here today because my new go to place"jade kitchen" on Jerusalem ave in Hicksville is closed Monday's. Stupid me should have just waited till tomorrow. I almost didn't go pick up my order because the woman on the phone was so rude. I got to ho hing and and she was still rude to me and even more rude to the next sucker that came in. A little hole in the wall chinese joint. The food was alright, the people were nice, prices were inexpensive and there were absolutely zero frills. My order was made quickly and they seemed to appreciate my business. The outside looks... well, uninviting to be honest, and the inside doesn't look much better. Well I'm not sure why everyone really trashed this place but for take away it's not bad. Their Singapore noodles are actually much better than most places. I am comparing to even high end sit eat in restaurant, that serve bland noodles with no flavor kick. I will say I'm not crazy about the quality of beef but other than that it is right up to par .Again think it's better that fortune place in Levittown everyone raves about. read more

This take-out (you can eat in too) is under new management - a young family - and they are much improved from the previous owners. The dumpling and won-tons are home made (not the fat thick frozen stuff at most take-outs) and are phenomenal. You can see the owner sitting at one of the tables making them by hand. The lunches are reasonably priced - between $5 - 6 and if you eat in, a generous portion. The owners are new to the language so you need to be patient. Their goal is fast service - they are not being rude or pushy - just trying to give fast and convenient service. Lunch specials end at 4pm and are not available on the weekend but there is a combination menu available in the $7-8 range and the portions for dinners are larger. The food is outstanding and once the owners recognize you as a regular they are very friendly. Highly recommended! Love that they don't use MSG their hot and sour soup is great. Anything I've gotten is pretty good.

My husband I have brought in from here for years, through several different owners and were always very happy with the food. We went there last week and found a new owner. Undaunted, we ordered and brought our food home. The food was horrible. The egg drop soup was thick and tasteless; the fried rice was mushy with very little pork and the egg rolls had very little pork and a LOT of ground pepper. We will never go back. read more
