I don't find myself getting Chinese takeout too often, but I had some cravings recently for General Tso's so I hit up Chinatown Kitchen a few times over the past few months. This place is on Post Ave across from Rite Aid and it looks like a pretty standard takeout place. I have to note that their customer service definitely seems a bit better than your usual place. The woman who I spoke with was friendly and answered questions well. The guy I spoke with recently seemed nice as well and was very big on calling me 'my friend' when I spoke with him. LoL. So I've gotten the General Tso's lunch special with pork fried rice and wonton soup twice (comes out to $8.15 total) and I recently got an order of Beef Chow Fun (comes out to $10 flat). These are prices with cash, so make sure you pay with cash, or else there will be a credit card fee. The food is pretty solid all around. Nothing spectacularly amazing, but pretty well executed and fairly tasty. The General Tso's wasn't overly saucy, which is a good sign. PFR was pretty ok. Wonton soup was solid. I also think they did a pretty good job with the Beef Chow Fun, as the noodles were cooked pretty well and weren't overdone and soggy. I've gotten Pad See Eew from Thai places that were actually worse. So good job to them on that. So overall, nothing much to complain about here. The prices seem pretty fair considering it's 2023 although I wish I could still get lunch specials for like $5.50 like how it was back in the day. Solid 4 stars and recommend.

This is an Asian household. I'm Chinese, my wife is Korean, and our kids are mixed. Besides the authentic regional asian cuisines, in every neighborhood we've lived, there is always our go-to #chinesetakeout spot. Here in #westburylongisland there is no exception. Our go to spot is #chinatownkitchen off Post ave. I've talked about this local spot many times. Yes, that's duck! This Chinese take out actually got their version of 三寶飯 3 treasures over rice roast duck combo. #longisland

Super friendly staff food is great they have 10 people working not like other stores. I got lunch special sweet sour chicken with fried and rice soup. Sweet sour sauce is home made red delicious.

OK, I am a NYC transplant now in Long Island. I tried Golden Wok a couple days earlier and it wasn't what I am used to when I order Chinese American takeout from the city maybe it's catered to the local demographics. But this place, Chinatown Kitchen, reminded me of the Chinese American takeout that I am used to in the city. I no longer have to make a commute to the outer boroughs or city when I'm in the mood for good Chinese American takeout. The lady that works there is so nice too. She will try to strike up a conversation with you. I'll update my review when I try their other items in the near future for further assessment.

The woman of the shop told me to try her beef udon soup and I did! I was very pleased. I asked for it spicy. I can tell the broth was cooked for hours the beef was sooo tender and had the right amount of spices. This was truly a homemade tasting dish. I know I'll be craving this thing all winter long.

The restaurant is smallish and can probably seat up to 18ppl. This is a unique Harbin restaurant (the Capital region of a Providence in Northeast China). This authentic cuisine is hard to find; even in Flushing, Queens! On their store awning, it states "We Make Real Chinese Food".... They ain't kidding!! Note: Closed on Tuesdays! We went for lunch on a Saturday, and the restaurant was full of Asian people. There was a steady flow of Asians the entire 2.5 hrs we were there! (Yes, we had a leisurely 2.5 hr lunch; catching up with friends from out of town. lol) Our menu (shared by 4 adults, 1 child): -- House Special Dumplings ($18/12pcs): we ordered these boiled. Tasty; especially with the chili sauce and vinegar. -- Sauteed Tofu Sheet w.Chili Peppers $18: traditional Northeast China dish. Good but would have been better with more chili peppers. We added chili oil for an extra kick. -- Double Cooked Pork w.Sweet & Sour Sauce $20: Excellent dish! Preparation is very unique! There was no actual sweet & sour "sauce" but rather, the sweet & sour condiments were cooked into the batter of the pork. Loved this dish! Get this! -- Mala Lamb Ribs $28: Another Excellent dish! The spicy and numbing Mala taste was obvious without being overly spicy. Great flavors, Great texture. Get this! -- Pork Fried Noodles $15: All noodles are hand-pulled on-site, with noodle chefs having over 20 years of experience. This dish was made with just ONE very long noodle! Served with a pair of scissors. lol Great texture, and soooo satisfying! Even better with some chili oil! This had limited protein but a good dish nonetheless. -- Northeastern Style Braised Pork Elbow $36: Excellent dish! Huge portion. Perfectly braised, fall-off-the bone deliciousness. It was slightly salty, so definitely eat this with some rice. Get this! -- Rice ($2/bowl): entrees do NOT come with rice, so order on the side. -- Condiments: on each table, there is a condiments tray consisting of chili oil, vinegar, soy sauce, and salt/pepper. Definitely try their chili oil and vinegar. This really enhanced the flavors of the food. But some of the dishes didn't need condiments at all, and were terrific as served. Customer service was so warm, welcoming and friendly! They are happy to answer any questions you may have, and offered great suggestions. So, if you've never had Harbin Cuisine before, peruse the 6 page menu and ask questions before ordering! Lots of great dishes on their menu! Parking: street parking is available (in front and on the side road). They do have a small parking lot in back but spots are limited since it's a shared lot. Looking forward to a return visit to explore their menu. What a treat!! Thanks to Y&Z for a wonderful 1st experience at your restaurant!

There is a certain taste to lzbns which is described as "xian", and this soup has it. The pork sauerkraut dumplings were also great, as a Northeastern Chinese (Harbin) restaurant, the dumplings were as chonky as I expected with great wrapper texture. They give free pickled veg (pickled with Sichuan peppercorns!) and watermelon as well. Staff was attentive, I came on a Sunday dinner 630pm, was quiet, mostly takeout orders. Wonderful restaurant, definitely eat in if you can for the freshest experience.

The dish was presented traditionally with the all the toppings. The duck sauce was also perfect. A beautiful dish that fulfilled the 3 categories of Chinese cooking: color, fragrance and taste. Our next favorite in presentation and taste is the pork belly with pumpkin. The presentation of the dish is eye popping. The pork belly is unmistakably cooked by a master chef. The texture is chewy (skin), soft (fat) and dense (meat). The sauce may look over the top, but it adds to the silkiness of the pieces. The "fat" is not greasy. It's puzzling how they rendered the grease. I grew up eating this dish and cook it too. This dish by far is the best I've had. Service is fantastic; helpful and attentive. This is our new favorite restaurant! Suggestion would be to eat at the restaurant for an incredible experience. Dishes came out is perfect order. Luckily, there was only a short wait for our party of two at around 12pm...but I suspect the wait can be much longer later in the afternoon or during peak dinner times. Once your number is called, you go up some stairs to the eating/tabled area. There are tables and chairs for 2, 4 and more guests throughout the large space. The pace of the restaurant is very fast...as soon as you are seated, you are given tea and your waiter comes over right away to take any order you are ready to give. Its helpful to ask for a menu while you are waiting for a table so you know what to order when asked. We had some soup dumplings as well as a (large) soup. Everything was very good and out in about 15 minutes...very fast. The soup dumplings were great...but as expected are filled with piping hot broth so be careful when eating. They have some other appetizers and dishes available. There are also some drink options including cold teas, soft drinks and beer. Overall a great experience...despite visiting on a busy Saturday, we were in and out in about 40-45 minutes. Street parking can be tough in the area but there are a few garages around...one of the more reasonable options is the garage at the Skyview shops which currently charge about $6 for up to three (3) hours and is a short 5 minute walk away.
