Always tastes fresh and yummy. Hidden gem. Affordable too. It's probably one of the best Chinese places in the area.

The food was outstanding. They have the big noodles for the wonton soup. There was a steady stream of to go pickups while I was there.

This review is solely on the chicken burger as I'm saving the momos for dinner. The chicken burger was absolutely delicious. Way better than a grilled chicken or fried chicken sandwich from a fast food place. This burger was actual ground chicken seasoned with veggies. You can literally see the seasoning and veggies in the burger. You get seasoned curly fries with the burger as well. While I waited for my food to be prepared, an employee was making coconut ladoo which is like a grated coconut and sugar truffle of sorts. He gave me one to try while waiting, which I thought was very nice of him. All in all, I would for sure go back to try various menu items, including the drinks. Atmosphere, its a regular take-out/casual sit down place.

Tucked inside an unassuming shopping strip just a block from Nassau University Medical Center,…read moreKesar Foods is a hidden jewel that transcends expectations with its generous hospitality, garden-like décor, and a menu that dances across the subcontinent and beyond. This South Asian kitchen artfully blends regional Indian specialties, including those from China and even Nepal, from tandoori sizzlers to street food classics and rich breads, offering a culinary journey few places in Nassau County attempt with such finesse. The food is all created fresh and on location. The showstopper at lunch was the Tandoori Jumbo Shrimp--enormous, flame-grilled prawns with a whisper of char and a radiant glow of saffron and masala. Juicy, fresh, and masterfully spiced, each bite was an explosion of flavors. On the side, the Mixed Vegetable Pakora arrived as a festival of color and crunch. Generously portioned (enough for four), these fritters were golden, airy, and studded with spinach, onion, and root vegetables. Paired with tangy tamarind and zesty mint chutneys, the contrast of warmth and spice was irresistible. The Paneer Paratha--both the house-style and traditional--is a must. Each portion unfolds layers of flavor, the crisp edges giving way to soft pockets of mildly spiced cheese. The Mango Lassi is perfection: chilled, velvety, and sweetened just right, it may be one of the best renditions I have tried. The dining room feels like a serene indoor garden--canopies of flowers and vines cascade from the ceiling, with golden chairs and glass-topped tables beneath. A display case beckons with treats and house-made desserts, while framed wall art pays homage to India's culinary diversity. Kesar Foods dares to represent India's full culinary spectrum. Warm service, vibrant ambiance, and extraordinarily fresh dishes make it a rare and welcome addition to East Meadow's food landscape. The owner Naveen takes great pride in his food. Nothing mass produced, only the freshest ingredients and cooked with love. Highly recommended--especially for hungry medical professionals in need of a nearby, nourishing escape.

Excellent food. Beautiful presentation and mastery in preparation…read more The Peking duck was delicious. The fat was either removed or baked out. The dish was presented traditionally with the all the toppings. The duck sauce was also perfect. A beautiful dish that fulfilled the 3 categories of Chinese cooking: color, fragrance and taste. Our next favorite in presentation and taste is the pork belly with pumpkin. The presentation of the dish is eye popping. The pork belly is unmistakably cooked by a master chef. The texture is chewy (skin), soft (fat) and dense (meat). The sauce may look over the top, but it adds to the silkiness of the pieces. The "fat" is not greasy. It's puzzling how they rendered the grease. I grew up eating this dish and cook it too. This dish by far is the best I've had. Service is fantastic; helpful and attentive. This is our new favorite restaurant! Suggestion would be to eat at the restaurant for an incredible experience. Dishes came out is perfect order. It's been a while since we've experienced a classic Chinese restaurant.

The wonton soup was decent......wontons were very good but the broth however was a bit bland. Roast pork fried rice was pretty good.....a little dry and skimpy on the pork but the flavor was more than adequate. Hot and sour soup was really tasty with a good bit of spice. Scallion bubble pancake was very light and tasty. The Emperor cabbage appetizer was probably my favorite meal item.....crispy cabbage tossed in a peanuty garlic sauce with honey. It was served cold (which usually I'm not a big fan of, but this was an exception) and had a great flavor. Pork belly appetizer tasted very good but it wasn't crispy (which would have made it so much better) and the buns they were served with didn't taste completely fresh. Dan Dan noodles with ground beef was excellent.... they're served spicy and you can simply request the level of heat you prefer to fit your taste buds. Soup dumplings were of decent size and quite juicy...... unfortunately they lacked some flavor. Mongolian beef dish was excellent as was the kung pao chicken. Overall it was a pretty good meal but there was some room for improvement. The staff was very nice and it did have quite a cool "old school American Chinese restaurant" vibe from yesteryear.
