The restaurant is not much to look at, it's pretty run down but sometimes dives have good food so I ordered nonetheless. I got the shrimp and broccoli with vegetable fried rice. The shrimp were jumbo sized and cooked well with decent flavor. The broccoli was also good. Extra points for putting mushrooms in the rice, not all Chinese places do that and I love mushrooms. There was also two pieces of some kind of mystery vegetable. I have no idea what it is so I didn't eat it but it was pale yellow in color, kind of roundish and looked chopped up. It almost resembled a firm unripe avocado inside. If anyone can tell me what that was that would be fantastic lol The rice is definitely on the greasy side and rather than make it yellow style it appears to be brown in color from whatever they season it with. The total is $6.15 plus tax which ended up being $6.68. The options with the lunch special are only soup or soda. No egg roll option like the place I usually order from. I just got the soda. The portion size was average but definitely below what I am used to at my usual place. At China House they pack the containers so full you can barely close them and you can order the same thing for about $6 including tax with the option of egg roll, soda, or soup. Aside from the place being not so clean it reiked of cigarettes and the guy taking my payment upon exit was clearing the plegm from his throat as he spoke to me. Um gross! The food wasn't bad but I will stick with my usual place, thanks!

Beef and eggplant with garlic sauce and brown rice. Little bit spicey !

Consistent and delish! Boneless spare ribs are soooo good. Sometimes orders take a while if you do it online.

The wonton soup was decent......wontons were very good but the broth however was a bit bland. Roast pork fried rice was pretty good.....a little dry and skimpy on the pork but the flavor was more than adequate. Hot and sour soup was really tasty with a good bit of spice. Scallion bubble pancake was very light and tasty. The Emperor cabbage appetizer was probably my favorite meal item.....crispy cabbage tossed in a peanuty garlic sauce with honey. It was served cold (which usually I'm not a big fan of, but this was an exception) and had a great flavor. Pork belly appetizer tasted very good but it wasn't crispy (which would have made it so much better) and the buns they were served with didn't taste completely fresh. Dan Dan noodles with ground beef was excellent.... they're served spicy and you can simply request the level of heat you prefer to fit your taste buds. Soup dumplings were of decent size and quite juicy...... unfortunately they lacked some flavor. Mongolian beef dish was excellent as was the kung pao chicken. Overall it was a pretty good meal but there was some room for improvement. The staff was very nice and it did have quite a cool "old school American Chinese restaurant" vibe from yesteryear.

It's definitely a must have on chilly nights! I also love their cold chicken feet dish. Has a good bounce to it with a kick! The pan fried dumplings weren't my favorite but that's not what they're known for. I would choose the skewers as those were very good too. There's really not much to say about this spot other then that it has a great vibe to it. Inside has a very oriented theme and you get to taste of what real chinese food taste like! Well, a specific region but still ! If you're feeling adventurous. I would definitely recommend this spot. It's great for spicy eaters out there and non spicy eaters.

They took our order and the food came out pretty fast. The menu can feel a bit overwhelming since their seems to be a lot of choices. You can definitely ask them for suggestions. Our favorite was the spicy sliced pig ear and the tujia scallion pancake. The noodles that they use was soft but bouncy. I believe they use the same noodles for all their soup noodles. The soup for the noodles was tasty and was not too salty. Parking in front of the restaurant can be a bit of a challenge. We came here right before 6pm on a Saturday and it took a while to find parking. In addition, dinner time you might be waiting 15+ minutes for a table, so plan accordingly. Overall the food was very tasty, highly recommend.
