Delicious Chinese takeout...my kids will only go here for Chinese ..they make the best Chicken & Broccoli, the best Egg Foo Young also..my husband loves Sesame Chicken, & General Tsao's Chicken, Fried Wonton's , Wonton Soup, if you order Fried Rice You need to ask them for scrambled eggs to be added if you want eggs in your fried rice, they do not put eggs in it probably because of people with allergies? Ordered today for the first time. The lady on the phone was very nice, and the food was ready for pickup when they said it would be, if not a bit earlier. We got General Tso's Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein and Crab Rangoons. Everything was very good and tasty. The portions were very good sizes for the prices and nothing was overly greasy. My wife sometimes doesn't like the consistency of certain restaurant's General Tso's Chicken, but this one was good. Everything had a nice flavor to it, and the price is good too. GEEZ....I cant believe some of these very negative reviews given most of the top chinese sit down restaurants from the 70s and 80s are gone and very few stand who make hunan dishes with any kind of consistancy or good taste...Now,i dont know about pidgeons being brought in thru the back door or roaches in plants....Its NOT consistant with the Peking Gourmet i know...Most of the time,the dishes i order are perfectly prepared,full of flavor ,plentiful etc.....I do ask for less salt and sugar as i do find it too much for a guy near 70 now...Bottom line, At times there are misses but for the most part the hunan dishes are superior to most every sit down restaurant ive encountered on the Island of late!...I honestly havent found but two or three decent ones around..Try the Orange and sesame beef,orange and Tsos chicken, boneless and the plentiful and tastyTung Ting Shrimp!! read more

Been coming here for about 3+ years now. They are located in the Salpino's shopping plaza - with a large parking lot. This place is reasonably priced and has the best Chinese take-out in the neighborhood. I always order the chicken and broccoli with white rice + hot and sour soup combo. The food is consistently good and always ready within the time that they promise. I've been to several other Chinese take-outs around the area and none of them compare to Peking Gourmet. read more

Had the BBQ spare ribs and chicken with bean sprout. 12 bucks for the large ribs which is a little on the high end but you get a good amount of meat. Not a big fan of the texture though. Could be a little more tender but you feel like an animal eating it. Chicken with bean sprout was good. Chicken was cooked well but not over cooked and the bean sprout gave it a nice texture. We've been ordering from Peking Gourmet for at least 20 years. The food is excellent. In fact, it's better than any local dine-in Chinese restaurant in the area. The major problem is they are short-staffed. The woman who answers the phone is completely overwhelmed. In addition, she speaks very fast and her accent makes it extremely difficult to understand what she is saying. Tried Peking gourmet based off of personal recommendations from friends who swore by this place. I got the Kung Pow chicken combo which is what I get a most places. There was practically no flavor in the sauce what so ever. Also I was not a big fan of the way they chopped the chicken into little tiny pieces which made it hard to taste the difference between the chicken and veggies. The egg roll was ok but the fried rice was pretty dry. Overall not impressed. Next time I will go back to PO-Sing instead! read more

BEWARE!!!!!! Me and my friends came to visit New York last week and of course we had to try some Chinese food. We got there very late and allllll I wanted was a big plate of Chinese food. Soo we look for the nearest one and Peking Gourmet popped up. Lemme tell you what IT WAS EVERYTHING BUT GOURMET!!!!! We sit down to eat and i order I think it was the chicken and vegetables. When they brought out the food the meat looked RANCID. THERE WAS A FEATHER IN MY FOOD!!!! Something told me this meat was not chicken. After a few bites I couldn't help buttt gag. This meat was NOT chicken. Without even leaving a fucking tip or finishing the DISGUSTING food we left. When we got out I had to go pee and I did NOT wanna go back in there. No telling what their bathrooms looked like I can't imagine. So I walk around back to take a pee by the dumpsters and there was some sketchy ass van. They couldn't see me and I didn't really care but then out of the corner of my eye I see a foreign man get out with a big sack and hand it to an employee. I'm like wtf.... All the sudden I see the employee pull out a PIEGON!! He inspected it put it back in the sack and walked back inside!!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES!!!!! I threw up immediately. This restaurant used to be good. Over the years they cut back on the free soda with $30 purchase. I ordered yesterday for the 1st time in a while. The Shrimp rolls are more like spring rolls and are 1/3 smaller than other restaurants for the same price. Also my BBQ spare ribs were so dry and over cooked that the meat looked like splintered wood. Time to move on to another establishment. I use to order here all the time Food was decent (4.5) & they were fast (5) well last 2 times I ordered from here it was a horrible experience. The woman who answers the phone seems to be completely overwhelmed trying to talk to 3 different people at one time, paying you no respect, Messing up orders. My pick up service experience that was suppose to be 20- 25 mins was over an hr. I decided to give another chance, my delivery service that was suppose to be 30-40 mins. (i called at 5:20pm) it's now 7pm and nothing. when I called she just talks fast and yes' me to death. They cant handle the business, I dont feel sorry for any business that's busy during Covid they need to hire someone who's unemployed. They obviously cant handle the business. Big portions, reasonable price, but quality isn't best. The ribs were extremely dry. I don't mind having their food all day, but I don't miss it either. For quick warm food, this place ticks all the boxes, but at the end of the day it's pretty average... Average isn't bad. Average Chinese food around here is a lifesaver. read more

I have been ordering from this place for several years and was always happy with the fast delivery and taste but I will never ever order from there ever again. The mistake I made was to actually pick up my food instead of getting it delivered. I was repulsed by how dirty the place looked but picked up and paid for the food anyway. On my way out I was greeted by a roach the size of a small mouse that crawled from under the plant sitting in the entry way that rolled over and died. Needless to say, I threw the food out. Never again will I purchase from these small Chinese places. I will only order from Jani from now on. I'm sure all of these places have roaches but at least the place is always packed and the food turns over quickly so it isn't just sitting around. I wish Nassau county used a rating system for how clean a place is just like the city does. So gross. read more
