Wow I am shocked to read some of these bad reviews. I've been ordering from here consistently in the past 2+ years since moving here. So much so that I haven't even tried any other places because our whole family is so happy with the food every time we order! They've never been anything but nice and kind, with speedy prep times (I pickup, haven't needed delivery). Extremely rude and unprofessional. I ordered food while walking to restaurant with my child and after 5 minutes I get there and. of course my child has to use bathroom. They refused us and I said ok I have to walk home and it's to much to come back so please cancel order. About 3 weeks later I call to place my order for pick up and she said no bathroom and hung up. After trying at least 5 area Chinese restaurants, Kam Sheng is the winner, hands down. The WonTon soup is very flavorful and not watery and the Egg Foo Young comes with a brown gravy instead of that sweet teriyaki type sauce that most places give you. Another thing I love is that you can buy all the sauces they offer , 11 in all, either 1/2 pints or pints. I've ordered from Kam Sheng at least twenty times in the past year and have never once been disappointed. Oh, and as far as delivery time, these folks are fast. Yep, I'm a fan. read more

Best Chinese take out in Long Beach, NY. Quicker if you pick it up yourself vs. delivery. The sitting area in restaurant is small so we order for pick up. When my mom calls to order Mrs. Sheng always recognizes her voice & chats it up with her for a bit & could put in our order without my mom even saying a word. She's very sweet & friendly & always gives us extra fortunte cookies, soup noodles & duck sauce. The food is always on point & consistent. My personal favorites are the chicken & broccoli, wonton soup, boneless spare ribs, pork fried rice & egg rolls. But my family orders a variety of items & everyone is always pleased, no complainants. If I could give it zero stars I would. I ordered food there a few weeks ago and there was an egg shell in the fried rice but much worse there was a piece of wire in my shrimp dish. I called to tell her (May) and she said it was from the brush that cleans the wok. She did make on it so a few weeks later I decided to give them another try (my stupidity-big mistake). I placed my order and a minute later I realized I forgot to tell her something so I called back and was put on hold. I held for a couple of minutes, a man came on and I tried to tell him but he put me on hold again. I held for over 6 min and hung up and called back again. May answered the phone and started screaming so loud that someone near me heard her (phone was not on speaker!) "don't you ever keep calling back! Don't keep calling! I only have one person working here". She was so nasty and rude! No way to talk to a customer-especially one that gave you another chance after getting wire in their food. It use to be my favorite place when Gene was there, she was very pleasant. The lady there now is very rude, always have an attitude, very nasty. You only have one chance with me, i ordered a chicken wing combo, this was the worst chicken wings ever, look like the chicken ate the chicken, look like the chicken ate the chicken, the wings were so small i thought they ate them and gave them to me, no meat whatsoever, the wing tips was just fried hair, very disappointed. If I could give 0 stars I would. I had my boyfriend call to order food for my 9 year old brother and myself. As you typically know, children are usually indecisive. At last minute we were waiting for my brother to decide if he wanted some extra wings with his order, my boyfriend asked the women on the phone to hold for 2 seconds and she automatically hung up while we were midway through a delivery order. The worst part is this isn't the first time these disrespectful assholes have hung up on us before. When we called back and asked what had happened very politely thinking we had been disconnected. As if she was annoyed, she caught a HUGE attitude and started practically yelling into the phone saying "this is a business don't call us until you know what you want". Excuse me ? This is how you speak to people who are willing to invest into your shitty food? I'm disgusted with who ever is in charge of this sorry excuse for a business! I ordered pepper steak with onions and it was in a soupy liquid. Disgusting. I got wonton soup which was bland and really yellow. The crab ragoons were dripping with grease, as well as the egg roll. I wish I could give them no stars. After 30+ minutes I called to see if the order was almost ready to go out, but they forgot to actually put it in. After another 30+ minutes of waiting I called to see if it would be heading out soon. After being screamed at that the order still wasnt made the woman on the other end hung up on me. I called right back to cancel the order, because over an hour and not being finished was just ridiculous (especially when other local and better Chinese food deliveries are typically much faster). The woman laughed, said I was "so funny" and that the order would leave later, and hung up on me again! I tried one more time to cancel the order as it still wasn't made, and not surprisingly, got hung up on again. I ended up having to cancel it through my bank. My recommendation: use Island Park Chinese, or Jade. Much better and nicer staff. read more

I am a customer for over 25 years. We loved Jean and the food is pretty good. The problem is when it changed hands. Now I know Jean is still the owner but she has a young woman working the register, the incoming orders by phone and packs the food to go. She has a big job especially on busy nights. My problem with her is that she can be very rude to her customers. Jean would have never talked to me the way this girl does. She even hung up on me once! That is no way to run a business, or someone else's business who trust you. When we eat in, my husband like a lot of duck sauce and the little man who is the waiter gets angry for us when we ask for more. The atmosphere in there is not the best and can certainly use updates. I know it is more of a take out joint, but if you have tables for people to eat in, please update your silverware, give it a coat of paint, and change the tables and chairs. The last thing I want to say is about the eggrolls. They are bad. They must have changed the vendor or whatever because they are not good anymore. Never crisp, and just bland. read more
