One star. The summer rolls were impossible to eat. The rice paper was thick, gloopy, and sticky. The "shrimp" inside did not seem like real shrimp - they smelled and tasted like imitation crab, and the pieces were rubbery and very hard to chew. The mango was a full slice, but it did not help. The entire roll was swimming in cold, sweet-and-sour sauce, which just made the texture even worse. Pictures were taken after I had already thrown away half of it; the rest was dumped straight into the garbage. The Hot and Sour soup was also a miss: oddly bland yet very peppery, with a clump of mushrooms that were impossible to bite. We had an activity in the area and hadn't been to Masago in a while. It was empty when we arrived and we were seated immediately. Water came to the table. We began talking and the server returned several times but finally we looked at the menu. My friend started with some dumplings and a side order of edamame. She also eventually ordered a roll. I opted for the sushi dinner which I think had nine pieces of sushi and a roll. I was going to order the ninja roll in addition but held off since I didn't know how hungry I would be after the sushi platter. The food arrived and was delicious. We continued talking and eating and our water glasses were filled on a regular basis. It was once again a very pleasant experience, the staff was cordial, the food was delicious and fresh, the restaurant as well as the bathroom was clean and well maintained. I love it when I get s taste for something and try a new place, and it turns out to be a hit. Masago came highly recommended by a coworker; I shared with her that I had a craving for Sushi, and she suggested I try Masago. She told me she and her boyfriend dine there quite often because the sushi is always fresh and the price is always right. She sold me on the recommendation, and off I went. You need to know what to expect here, and as a Masago veteran, I was prepared. Is it the best sushi? No. It's good. And it's pretty cheap. This used to be our local go to place for sushi. We went there a few months ago and the the. spicy tuna, and a spicy salmon tasted like it came out of a can. Since Masago used to be one of our favorite restaurants we decided to give it another try a few weeks later, and our food tasted terrible again. This place has really gone downhill. I have been to this place many times. Initially, I was not a fan of sushi, but once I had their sushi, it was so good that I started to love it. Once, we tried a different restaurant, but I told my friends to eat from Masago as it has awesome sushi and they are the best in town! However, recently, when I did a takeout to my house, I don't know if they have changed their chefs, but there was no flavor. The pizza sushi, which they used to make from rice, is now made with scallion pancake, and it was horrible. Additionally, the Peking duck rolls were also not great. Went for lunch, got the Tom Yam Soup, it was bad. Salad with ginger dressing was ok, but pretty much just lettuce and dressing. Sushi is very low quality, teriyaki salmon bento box was ok, a little fishy, not enough teriyaki sauce. Came with 1 piece of broccoli and 2 small slices of potato. Service was ok. I've mostly gotten take out from here multiple times in the past, been our family's go to for sushi for the longest time and always had a good experience. This is the first time I'm dining post pandemic. First of all they close at 3 which is odd since that isn't mentioned anywhere, not their website, Yelp, Google Business page, nor on their store front so when we came in and we were told this after being seated and asking for a few more minutes to decide what to eat was unexpected. So we felt rushed while eating, the quality of the food felt rushed and overall the waitress seemed annoyed the whole time. Plus there is a charge for paying with card vs cash, about $1 and change difference. Also they write the total on the bottom as if they're not already giving you the discounted amount. We had a few special rolls and an appetizer here, we agreed on the three special rolls that one was great, but other two were just blah; i'd equate to Supermarket Sushi, and that is not good my friends... Mitzui roll was actually bland, and salmon was opaque...no lushness or silky deliciousness that quality Salmon has to it...Out of Control roll was ok, and can't recall the other rolls name but most likely for the benefit of Masago as it was for sure forgettable. The Money Bag App was just that, Money...and the best thing we had here!!! I'd go back for those alone, so maybe the "Fusion" side of this place is ok and i'd try it again but i'd find somewhere else for the sushi. read more

We've also taken out from here. Go to favorites are Tokyo special, white tune yuzu, gyoza's, many signature rolls. Tried lunch at this fairly new restaurant. Arrived at 2:30 pm and was immediately informed that they lose from 3 PM to 4 PM. We ordered our food and it was not impressive. I've ordered takeout twice from here and my food was good both times. Is it the best sushi I've ever had? No. But it's yummy and I'd def recommend it. I don't get all the negative reviews on here about the pricing. All of the food gets discounted when you order so everything is about 30-50% off the listed price on the yelp menu. Other yelp reviews complained about them making you tip on the non-discounted price. Although I agree that the restaurant shouldn't do that, I would still tip respectfully. Some of the older reviews scared me but like a good scotch, this spot seems to have improved with age! I waltzed in hungry for lunch as it's likely one of the best deals around. $7.99 for two rolls w/soup and salad goodness, $8.99 for three. Woo -- take that RVC lunch spots! The inside was comfortable and not over done with a bazillion neon-lights, waterfalls and other things you might see at other restaurants (or any Chinese frequented casino). The standard miso soup and salad that accompany lunch were surprisingly fresher than expected. The miso had chopped green onions in it, while the salad dressing tasted like it was just whipped up by a diligent staff member that morning. No questionable looking greens "hidden" by the dressing as other places try pass off.. The Salmon was a little light in color and the eel was a touch fatty. Spicy tuna was pretty standard but overall it was and certainly reasonable for the value. I found the staff to be attentive and kind. Unbeknownst to my dining partner, I was listening in on two servers waiting on a crotchety old couple clearly there for the lunch special. Their complaints and quips with the food were skillfully and politely handled. Everything was good, I'll definitely be back to try more. read more

Descent quality fish (not the super fancy tuna that is thousands of dollars a pound). This is not an omakase place. You go here because you are craving sushi. We ordered salmon teriyaki, salmon sushi, tuna sushi, and a few different rolls. The sushi was solid and fresh. The rolls were good. It was delivered quickly. We tipped more than usually because it is a long drive. Driver was friendly. The salmon was over cooked. Edible but overcooked. Solid fare. I go back often read more
