As a returning customer, I'm obsessed with their General Tso's chicken. I have to say, the quality of their white rice is truly authentic. I've dined in at this location once--their steamed dumplings and dipping sauce were excellent. The waiting area is clean and neatly arranged, with a decent number of tables and chairs. Their dim sum dishes were also delicious, from shrimp dumplings and vegetable spring rolls to fried sesame balls--everything was spot on. Lastly, their packaging stands out for its quality. Had a solo lunch here. I was greeted upon entering and the staff member behind the counter was nice. I ordered a shrimp and broccoli lunch special with fried rice. I also had a choice of soup, egg roll or a soda. I went with soda. It was very hot and very fresh. I got it with fried rice, and was given egg fried rice and not pork. I found the rice to be very bland. It needed some oomph and possibly some seasoning. I would return again to try something else. read more

Was excited to try this place when they first opened and somehow convinced myself it isn't your typical msg Chinese take out but my wallet is more upset than I am about that... The food was decent, but for what it costs, def not worth it. I would have felt much more satisfied with a lunch special with lots of change to spare. We tried the chicken and broccoli, two different noodles and the soup dumplings and nothing really stood out to be worth it. Not really sure how there's so much hype around this place as it was nothing more than just mediocre. It's also mainly take out. They have one tiny table, but not meant for eating in. Ordered sezchuan chicken, hot and sour soup and fried rice with char szu. The rice was the most bland fried rice I've had on long island. No taste to it and the pork was bland. The hot and sour soup just tasted like corn starch water. Now why I ordered from here to begin with was I saw a picture of their szechuan chicken and it looked and from their description, sounded like it was a mala chicken..... It was not though... it was basically restaurant depot chicken nugget bites tosses in some salt,paprika and the tiniest hint of hot pepper with some fried dried whole red chili's and sesame seeds. No szechan peppers, no garlic, no green onions, just boring plain store bought chicken pieces. I gave them 2 stars cause at least the the packaging was nice and clean. read more

We ordered takeout from this restaurant a few times. The first time we ordered, everything was great. I was happy about it, and I would have given five stars based off of that day. We ordered the egg and tomato, string beans, XLB, other dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, and golden egg fried rice. The second time we ordered, everything was really off. The whole family noticed. The eggs were over cooked and hard, the beef in our beef and broccoli tasted gamey/old, and in general everything seemed rushed and inconsistent. The string beans were stringy (old? Or did they just need to have the string parts removed?). Even the fried rice was different (the first time it reminded me of Din Tai Fung's fried rice, the second time it was made like generic takeout fried rice). I don't know if their head chef was just out for the day or what, but I really hope this was just a bad day -- no pun intended. I still have hope for this restaurant, as the area needs a place like this. I hope they stay consistent in the future! read more

I've been here several times and initially it was good enough for me to come back for various reasons; it's clean, new, has plenty of options, they're friendly, and most important they have soup dumplings. Initially though, I found the standard food hit or miss. Up until recently, this place was a 3 for me. But over the last couple times I've visited, they've made some material improvements on the food. Maybe it's just timing. I got one of their signature dishes initially and it was so salty it was basically inedible. Last I went, it was delicious. Put all their good attributes together, and now add really solid food and this place is a quality four and somewhere I'll continue to eat. Genuinely impressed with the food we ordered from here! The shrimp and broccoli with garlic sauce was one of the best shrimp dishes I've had from anywhere in a long time. Note - we ordered from the website and it said an hour wait which seemed like a LONG time so we called and they said that it actually would be closer to 15 min. So it's either a glitch or something. I am giving it 3 stars because the tastes were great for the most part, however, there are problems. Here are my takes: Egg roll was good. Extra crispy BUT the inside cabbage was soggy. Taste was on point. Beef with broccoli: beef was also very tender but very mushy. Tasty was awesome. Buddha's delight: The Buddha's delight had a weird tasting tofu. I can't wrap my head around what it tasted like (sometimes sour sometimes "rub" flavor) They gave me a $1 off on the soup dumplings. I didn't have any but daughter had it, and she liked it but not "love" it. There weren't any soup and the skin was too thick. However, each dumplings have a generous amount of meat. It is a fast food restaurant but I don't think it lives up to what they claim to be. They try to be different that sets their price up, but fail to attempt the wow factor for me to come back. It wasn't memorable to say the least. Also, it is not an eat in restaurant. There are a few seating but they don't look comfortable and convenient. Might be a bit too crowded for groups. read more

Anytime I'm out by Plainview I try and pick up food from nice day. From the ribs which order is 4 ribs are delicious. the cheeseburger egg rolls w mustard and relish on side are a welcomed treat in my house. I try and order anything with eggplant because the Chinese eggplant is cooked up so well and the flavors are incredible. We also try and get anything shrimp because it's not the local Chinese food shrimp that are tiny. These shrimp are large. We like the dim sum platter. And I cannot forget the walnut bao. So good. Visited this new location that's pretty close by their Melville location. The food is consistently good, as is the service. The menu consists of many popular Chinese and China American classics like General Tso, Thick beef ho fan noodles, and they also do Dim Sum, which is not common to other Chinese takeout spots. Kids love the Bubble Tea and multi-coloured lemonades, as well as the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls. For something Spicy, the Kopow Chicken or Shrimp is great. If you're new to dim sum, would recommend the assort dimsum and you can try all the different ones they offer there. The ingredients are high quality, so I'm okay to spend a bit more vs. other spots (especially the vegetables). If you're meal prepping or have a big family to feed, I'd recommend just getting catering, as it's convenient and great value. read more

This Kung Pao prawns and sesame noodles are good. I recommend friends to try it. This is still very different from the Chinese food eaten in China, but overall the store environment and service are definitely passable, and the food is good. Tried a new Chinese Restaurant in Plainview this week, Nice Day Chinese. It's in the shopping plaza on Old Country Rd, where La Piazza is located. They have a couple of tables, and we ate there, but predominately I'd say it's a take-out. You can see all the dishes photos and order on an iPad type device or just place your order with the helpful staff, they are also very helpful adjusting the level of spicy to your taste. We enjoyed the crunchy chicken that had a little 'kick' and though it was fried, it was not greasy. We had Dan Dan Noodles, which were like a warm version of cold sesame noodles, it was so delicious. The Shrimp Kao Pung was amazing large perfectly cooked shrimp and the vegetables were so fresh, not overcooked. We also enjoyed, Beef with Bok Choy, in a garlic sauce. Since Bok Choy is my favorite Chinese Vegetable, I will have to order this everything (the leftovers reheating and were great). We also had spring rolls and Soup Dumplings, which we gobbled down before I could take a picture. They serve the food in environmental friendly containers and I think they look much nicer than bringing home those plastic containers. They also have a place in Melville. You must give them a try, it puts all the other take-out places in Plainview to shame. I can't wait to go back to try their Soups and Spare Ribs, and have that Bok Choy with Beef again, and see how they make Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, because I love my old school style Cantonese food. read more

The sauce was not spicy. There was way too much sauce for a hot pot. It was goopy mess sauce with way too much cornstarch. The veggies were extremely overcooked. First visit new to this area. Ordered large prawns with green beans and brown rice. This dish was outstanding huge perfectly cooked shrimp and large serving of green beans cooked perfectly.
