My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try last night and left underwhelmed, but not put off. The decor was very nice, it had a great atmosphere to it. This and all the amazing reviews I thought I'd be an instant fan. I ordered the lean delight and he ordered the tofu pad thai. I asked for a glass of ice water with my wine (which was good) and was told they had bottles, because they have "yellow water because of the pipes"... which, I mean, okay. I didn't need to know that. Besides that, I didn't think most restaurants served unfiltered tap water in the first place. So that was a bit odd. I usually get tofu red curry, but I decided to try something different. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt with my dish as it wasn't bad, really, just not super flavorful. Granted, it did come off as a "weight conscious" selection, so who knows. I tried some of my date's dish and it was fine, though he wasn't a fan. The prices are great, though. I might come back, but wouldn't necessarily recommend it to friends as a first choice. read more

The thai spring rolls were phenomenal as always and my boyfriend got the Drunken Noodle with Chicken for a change. It was so awesome. Totally different than my savory and sweet Siamese Twin, this dish is savory with wide, flat noodles, broccoli, carrots, green beans, etc. So great with some spice to it. Husband and I ate here on a Saturday afternoon at about 5pm. There was only 1 other couple dining when we arrived but by the time we left, the place was filling up fast. I noticed quite a bit of take-out activity. We ordered fresh spring rolls to start and they were delicious with a tasty peanut sauce. We also ordered Ramayana Beef Steak and it was very good although the beef was just a wee bit tough....just a little not too bad but the overall dish was very good. We also had the pad thai which was delicious as well. My husband said it was the best meal out he has had in a long time. The service was fantastic, my husband's water was refilled at least 5x. I thought I was burned out on Thai food when I moved to Danvers and felt it was unfair not to give it a shot. This place is like a trendy , clean, hip, relaxed , fancy city Thai place. Except it's in the center of Danvers, and the food is INSANELY cheap and off the charts good. I don't know, I dont pretend to be an expert on Thai food, but ive eaten it all over the country and I think this right up with the best if not the best. Tonight was my first time trying Thai yes it's true. My partner really wanted to try this place and instead of me pulling my hair and screaming noooooo I won't like i tried it. I'm a very picky eater such a picky eater people don't want to go out to eat with me. It's either we go where I want or forget it and no I'm not a brat I'm just that picky. I had the pineapple fried rice(minus the curry) which was delicious and so was the crab ragoon with pineapple sauce. My partner ordered the beef satay which was really good so was the shrimp shumai. The place was cute with a relaxed vibe and the employees were very friendly. The prices are great especially with all we ordered. I'm already planning my next meal here. I can't understand we always order from this restaurant, I called at 8.15 and they say they closed the orders at 8.15. With seconds, I couldn't order the food. Larb Gai wasn't great. It tastes gamey and chewy and they don't add the roasted rice which really makes this dish! I was really looking forward to that flavor. The chicken was gross! It was mad chewy. I also had the Mango tea that was extra sweet for my taste. I did enjoy the Paradise Beef but the sauce that came with it didn't pair well. The sauce was sweet and sour almost like a spring roll sweet sauce BUT I am not eating a spring roll. So actually skipped on that sauce. Delivery through grub hub was fast that's why I gave it a 3. I went here with my family the other day and I was truly impressed. My grandmother lives in Danvers and when we go to visit, we have never been able to find good Asian food of any kind. Thank goodness Sawasdee is there now. I had the Veggie steamed dumplings and the Vegetarian Thom Ka Gai. The soup had a lovely delicate balance of flavors and the dumplings were delicious. Went here for dinner on Sat night for the first time. We were seated right away, although I wasn't happy with the table - it was right by the bar, where waitresses walk by very often, we should have waited for a booth. But this one the only negative this about my dinner. I had crab rangoon for appetizer and red curry with chicken for dinner. Crab rangoons were just OK, I have had way better. But red curry chicken was excellent, and the portion was pretty big. I also had Thai iced tea (love it!) and shared fried ice-cream, which was also delicious. Prices are fair and food is good, however I wish the place was bigger, and had more booth seating. Definitely will be back! read more

Definitely a fan! Very decent Pad Thai. I have to return in order to rate their stir fry and curries to see if they can compete with Siam Delight (my favorite Thai place in the North Shore). They also have a wine from Thailand which I tried. It was not very good but I've never seen a wine from Thailand before so I have to give them some props! I think it was a Chardonnay/Sauvignon Blanc blend (weird). I would have preferred to have a Gewürztraminer (none on the menu) but I'm picky like that. Anyways the decor in here is a major plus. My go to Thai restaurant. Been going since it opened. I'll drive an hour or more to visit. One note, when they say the number of peppers they mean it!! I like hot, but a 4 pepper meal is WOW! I seem to always get the same--the General Gau's Chicken, which is unlike the regular tons of batter heavy duty stuff. This is lightly fried with just the right amount of sauce and veggies. The Thai rolls are great. Lunch prices are the best, and they also have quite a number of Yelp deals. The Sticky Rice is great, and I live for their Mango Rice for dessert!! Always clean as well. Service at times can be erratic, but they are always pleasant. Will keep coming back for more. read more

Great service great presentation great atmosphere. However when it came to the meal that I had there was nothing spectacular about it. From the appetizers to the entrée everything had an overwhelming peanut flavor to it. My entrée looked nice beef was well cooked and the vegetable seemed fresh however the sauce was bland and left nothing to the imagination of flavor. Maybe next time I'm in town I'll try another dish The overall experience definitely warrants a second chance. read more

Definitely one of the best Thai restaurants in the North Shore! This is a pretty small restaurant located in downtown Danvers with a nice interior and friendly waitstaff. The food is absolutely delicious! I often find myself crawling back for more. My go to is usually the Siamese Twin with rice noodles. This is a spicy chicken and pork dish served with sautéed peppers and veggies. This has been my favorite dish, but all of the dishes are incredible. A quick tip: know your spice tolerance. There are peppers marking the spice levels next to each dish. Make sure to clarify with the wait staff just how spicy the dish is. The Siamese twin only had one pepper next to the name, but was much spicier than I anticipated (I enjoy spicy food). read more

This is a great place to eat after being starving for a whole day. The food is delicious, the service is good and the price is cheap! We started with Thai wings. The texture is just perfect, very crispy and crunchy. Loved it. We ordered the pineapple fried rice and drunken noodle. It's a good portion just as all other Thai restaurants. However, after have a bite of the fried rice, I felt like there was no pineapple in the pineapple fried rice. So I called our waitress and she looked at it and said the pineapple prob melted in. I was like okay. A little disappointed, because I was expecting the fried rice is served in an actual pineapple, now I don't even see a piece of pineapple. Short after, our waitress came to us and told us the chief actually forgot to put in the pineapple. Haha~ now I feel much better. So they took it back and fried again with pineapple. She was very sorry about that, but I totally understand and I like her attitude and honesty. So big thumbs up. Should have written this review a long time ago. We moved to Danvers about the time Sawasdee opened, and have been at least monthly visitors ever since. Everyone we have taken there loves it. We used to live in Lynnfield, and went to the Duck Walk in Wakefield regularly. Sawasdee is just as pretty, far less expensive, and the food is just as good. Sawasdee has the best quality duck I have had anywhere - all the duck dishes are excellent. Some personal favorites from the menu: Thai iced tea; fried calamari (people who don't like calamari like this one); coconut-lime soup (Tom Kha Gai? - spelling is probably wrong); seafood tornado (just WOW); spaghetti grapow (WAY at the end of the long menu, dirt cheap, and really tasty). The only issue I've ever had is that somtimes, some dishes could use more spice. Not just in the sense of more heat, but more flavor. read more

This place is wonderful. Right on the main drag in Downtown Danvers, I first came here on a whim for take-away pad thai. That was great. Next time we sat inside and had soup, spring rolls, and split a curry, still great. Came in by myself got seated by a window, and had another wonderful pad thai. The tom ka gai soup is straight up lovely, coconut, spicy goodness. This place may not be as spicy as some people would like it, but they'll adjust the spice for you if you ask. The servers are observant and unobtrusive. Waters are always filled and It's a good amount of food for the price, and there is a cool curtain of crystals hanging above the bar which is nice. The tables are spaced far enough away that we've never been on top of the other people there. read more
